NY Lurker Merry Belated Christmas to you and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Same with us, low key, very low key, most likely asleep before the ball drops, ok no key! :lol: I understand the exhaustion, please get some rest. I couldn’t do the dual Christmases, your a champ! I’m glad I missed the whole Shi thing last night. Trying to keep unstressed! Have a wonderful night, if I don’t catch you tomorrow a wonderful New Years Eve, let me know if the new ball looked pretty please, god knows I’ll be sleeping! Hugs and kisses beautiful lady!
Hi Jill - yes, I definitely plan to stay home for the New Years eve…As for the New Years day, I have to do a Filipino tradition, which is preparing 13 different fruits on my table (I forgot what’s it for), I’m also be wearing polka dots (that is the chinese part of my family to wear polka dots on the first day of new year to symbolize good fortune, i.e. money) - not to mention making noise on the eve - to drive away evil karma, then leave the door and window open for few minutes to welcome the good karma for the new year).
The trouble with all these beliefs - they really have nothing to do with reality - but, in the spirit of fun and being irrational from time to time, it’s good enough for me….
How about you, how are you going to celebrate the new year?
But, but this cannot be right!!!!!! David Zayas is married. Jen would never interfere with a marriage! Be friends with a married man or share a plane with a married man or stay at the same resort as a married man. She would never ever be involved with a married man. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are welcome Coal :)
Ladies good night and good rest to you all! See you in the morning!
NY Lurker, I like the traditions you mentioned! The Polka dots, fruit, hey cant hurt! For some reason keeping a door or window open sounds familiar, must call the family tomorrow and check it out. If I don’t see you on tomorrow. Happy New Year! May you and yours be blessed! Thank you for all you have done for me! ((Hugs))
NY Lurker: hi there!!, how are you?. wish you a new year full of happiness!! God bless you and your family.
HAPPY NEW YEAR BAMPZS!!!!
I wsh for you to have a fruitful, happy and healthy 2008.
GOD BLESS YOU!!!
Alex - I wish all the best to you and yours in 2008 too! Well we’re all off to a good start I figure - good family, friends, loved ones and of course the great group of fans here to enjoy the JP’s and life with :-) We’re rich in all the best ways.

So true Sheri, so true, I guess they don’t have parents or grandparents that are willing to tell them about traditions. I knew about black eyed peas from a young age past down from one generation to another. Well thanks to your grandma, I will be putting a black eyed pea in my wallet. Good luck with those kids at the store and that is really nice what you are going to do, you are sweet
Coal, Sheri, NYL, Jill, Andromeda, and the rest of you ladies, I am saying good night, got to work tomorrow, hopefully I will see you ladies tomorrow here and if I don’t, you all have a wonderful and Happy New Year
NY Lurker, Sheri and Coal— I just got my a*s kicked playing scrabble with flamingo :lol: Darn it I usaually am very good at it….
Anyhoo, last night at JJ’s bothered me alot… I know, after three years I should have a teflon skin, but when it is the kids I really get upset. Soooo, I took a mini break and I am fine and ready for tomorrow!
We are going to do something very diff this year. We are going to a new movie theater ‘movie tavern’ where they play all the new movies, but you sit at tables and they serve food and drinks thru out the movie. Since flamingo is still in a cast we thought she might enjoy it and be comfortable b/c she’ll have room to position her leg :-)
OK, Ready to celebrate the New Year ladies and gents of BAMPZSville????
# 1437 coalharbourqt @ 12/31/2007 at 12:44 am
Thanks Coal and I will say AMEN to that.
Good Night Coal
HAPPY NEW YEAR JUST JARED!!!
MORE POWER IN 2008!!! MANY THANKS!!! DOMO ARIGATOU!!!
Hi Coal and Sheri - Happy New Year to both of you as well….Well, part of the blame was on me. I agreed to do all these two different christmas celebration, so now I am paying the price.
Sheri - I’m glad to hear that you finally got the rest that you needed. I hope your hubby showered you with all the best massage….
Coal - spending you christmas with your Mom sounds really fun - I used to love shopping with my Mom (beautiful memories I had with my late mother). What movie did you guys see? I finally saw “No Country for Old Men” by the Coen brothers. The dialogue was pretty funny and witty. But like what everyone says - the ending of the movie really “sucks”. It felt incomplete. So, I really don’t know how to make of it…perhaps someone out there can explain it to me….
Jaxon - I think we have the same wish for 2008 LOL Well, one day here without hearing about X would be nice - can’t imagine us getting a whole year! :lol: Maybe I will wish for a faster skip and scroll feature on my laptop instead tee hee.
NYL - okay so much for getting rest tomorrow! That’s a lot of fruit darnit. One of my best friends is Chinese, Portuguese and Fillipino so she has some of the same traditions as well. Red envelopes to follow in a few weeks I guess too? Put your feet up and chill as much as you can though!
Sheri - sweet dreams babe! Pop in tomorrow if you can but if not we’ll catch up later on in the week for sure ;-)
MF - thank you so much! Just trying to get it open so I can see what I have - the suspense is killing me :-)
Hi Char, :-)
Happy, Happy New Year to You, your hubby and Lil Bradley. :-)
To JJ and all the BAMPZS fans!! Happy New Year! More power to us!! Yay! :-)
Cheers!!!
Sheri @ 12/31/2007 at 12:15 am
coal, black eyed peas and rice is a staple with southern people, mostly black. Brings good things in the New Year. My great grandmother always told us to put a dried pea in our wallets for financial luck in the New Year! Its a tradition that has been around for, oh lord ever! There are certain things you serve for good luck, roast pork, black eyed peas and rice (hoppin john) greens, corn bread all to greet the New Year and bring good fortune!
~~~~~~~~~~~
ALL??
Greens - cornbread? GMAFB SHEESH!! My ex-MIL made us eat these on New Years Day w/ neckbones and I still make them eat them but with ham hocks.Do you really have to cook them ON New Years Day??? I thought you only had to EAT them on the 1st. Well we have been pretty prosperous so I guess it has been OK but SHEESH!! could some one put out a book of these rules all ready?
Happy New Year cinnamon!
Sweet Dreams Alex!
Guli - that sounds great! You’ll have to tell us what the experience is like. I hope you have an awesome time and all the best to you and yours in the New Year lady! Does R realize yet that she is going to have a hard time shaking the flamingo nickname for quite a while :lol: It has really stuck! LOL
NYL - yes it was really nice, especially as last Christmas we were all at my Dad’s, so it helped chase away the blues. I hope you weren’t missing your Mom too much? Shopping is such a bonding experience for us women that dates back to the days of open markets in foreign lands.
We saw National Treasure with Nic Cage - very entertaining of course :-) Alex and I have decided that we want Nic and Angie to do another movie together and it should be directed by John Woo :D
If I catch that other film we will have to discuss!
Alexanderina - Happy New Year to you and your family as well. I’m glad you are only working half day. I say this all the time to my staff at work - since it is the holiday, don’t work too hard….
Hi Adromeda - Belated merry christmas and happy new year to you and your brother. How is he doing now? I hope everything is doing well with you. Take care always….
Hi Guli - good to hear that R is on her half cast now. I’m sure you are still a very good scrabble player - maybe you are just tired tonight - or perhaps you just made R win. But remember, R hasn’t had any big social life lately, and that’s one good reason of her being a straight A - so, she must have all the time reading the dictionary….
MF - do you want “lechon”? - I’ll UPS it for you, just let me know when you want it….
Coal - 13 different variety of fruits, maybe a lot. We need the Real Tita here to explain what the 13 fruits are for. Or maybe any Filipino lurking can explain….All I know is that at the end of Jan. 1st - when I was a kid, I was then allowed to eat any of the fruits I like. It maybe that these fruits are sort of an offerring to the good karma when they enter your home….For whatever its purpose, it is still good to me, coz I get to eat it later….
# 1399 Blind Item @ 12/30/2007 at 11:51 pm What little stinker that was unmasked as instigating and attacking fans, seems to post here when she is off JJB?
———————————————————-
why don’t you add Pittlap, Pittparade, izzie belljar, bbad, and spunky jolie to your list
that way all the trolls that have infested that thread at jjb can be outed
Great way to end the year for the fans of JP’s - “Wanted” is on Yahoo! list of the 10 most anticipated movies of 2008. Soooo looking forward to 2008!!!
