As far as the baby thing, folks, Bridget, who I think is great, just wanted to get married and have a baby. Tom, in his late 20’s, wasn’t ready for that. It’s that simple. And since she moved to the west coast, I don’t see how you expect Tom to keep flying out there during season. He went out to see him during the Pats bye week, and I’m sure he will once the playoffs are over.

Mia - you are totally wrong and obviously biased. It’s great that other men in the mom’ s family are acting like surrogate dads, but it can’t substitute for a real father. Yes, some men can’t or won’t step up to be dads, but it doesn’t sound like TB is doing that.

THIS SHOULD NOT BE ABOUT WHAT MAKES LIFE EASIER FOR HER…IT SHOULD BE ABOUT THE BOY’S FEELINGS AS HE GROWS UP.

You name a child out of wedlock with the father’s name so that he/she has a sense of identity with his other half. He/she is sure of the mother, most probably lives with the mother and identifies with the mother’s family. Carrying the father’s name is a seal of the relationship with the father and the father’s family (aside from the legal considerations). It gives the child a sense of belonging to that family too. That’s what Tom’s son will lack as he grows older. Sure, he can tell his friends who his father is, but they will look ofn him as Tom Brady’s son whom he did naot want….AND THAT MIGHT NOT BE TRUE.

HAVING A BABY IS NOT ABOUT THE MAN, BUT IT’S NOT ABOUT THE WOMAN EITHER!! IT”S ABOUT THE CHILD. SURE BRIDGET “HAS HER OWN MONEY, IS INDEPENDENT AND CAN POP THE KID OUT”. BUT IT IS NOT ABOUT MONEY. It’s about the emotional security and emotional well being of her son. One can only hope that Tom will try doubly hard to give his son the emotional security of knowing he is loved and wanted by his father and not just by the Monhahan men.

Why should John have his father’s last name? Bridget’s raising him. Just b’c Tom “visits” his son once in a while shouldn’t give him any rights. No one said they had to get back together when she got pregnant but she seemed to be on her own after she announced the pregnancy. So she owes Tom nothing.

I’m a Brady and Pats fan but these sorts of statements should be left for the future when Brady retires and history decides. Right now I will say this, that any conversation about great QBs has to include him, and that’s all. Go Pats, all the way!

I really find it a disgrace for all females when some of them on maury howling about the father taking a DNA test and taking reponsibility..before you decide to leave your legs open , you should also realise that as the women the bulk of the respnsibility will fall on you…Sad but true, so you better be prepared to dole out the cash for pregnancies, abortions , std check up if you are going to have an active sex life..

I think the legal system needs to be revised, epecially in the case of gold diggers, both men and women who think having a baby qualifies you for a life of luxury ..learn from bridget, take your bun and manage, dont wait for some guy you were bionking part time to take responsibility…a stand up guy might do so, but they also have the option to go about thier business if they so wish…
