Vanessa Hudgens is the cover girl for the February 2008 issue Seventeen magazine.
Here are some great snippets from the High School Musical’s revealing interview:
How are you feeling about the [nude picture] scandal? I’m much better now. But truthfully I don’t like talking about it. It was something that was meant to be private, and even though it isn’t anymore, I’d still like to keep it as private as I can. It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened. I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. But I wouldn’t have been able to get through it if it wasn’t for my family, friends, and fans, who supported me all along the way.
Who told you the photos had been leaked? I found out from my manager. We heard some story was going to break in the tabloids, and I was like, What?!? A few days later, the picture came out while I was on vacation in Australia. Thank God, I wasn’t home–it would have sucked if I was at home. So I got to be away from L.A. for about a millisecond. But when I came back, it got kind of crazy.
How did you explain the situation to your mom? I was just open with her, and she was just so cute. She was like, “Well, everyone can be naked if they want to.” [Laughs] My parents are very supportive of me. And they know I’m a teenager, and yes, kids do stupid things sometimes. It’s very unfortunate because with the Internet these days, you don’t have a personal life. Nothing is private: Everyone knows everything, and they can find out everything about you. You’re not as safe as you think you are, and you have to be aware of the people you’re around.
It’s great that Zac stood by you through all this. To you, what’s the best thing about him? He always makes me happy. He literally knows exactly what to do to make me laugh.
Do you ever think about the future with Zac? No. It’s fun having a boyfriend. He’s a friend and a cute friend who you like. It’s nice. But only time will tell. I’m still young, and I have my girlfriends and I have my family. I think that it’s definitely important to have balance. I think girls can be sucked into the relationship and give too much. They like to be so into their boyfriends, you know? And you can’t do that, because you get too infatuated–and then you lose contact with your friends. It happens to a lot of girls.

This was a good interview,she’s cute. I love what she said about everything. Sure some of it might not be entirely true, but it’s her personal life, she’s not going to tell the whole world everything. It’s also nice to see that both Zac and Vanessa play off their relationship instead of it being just Zac doing it all the time. The quiz part was amusing.

This article showcases all of the things we fans love about Vanessa: Her maturity, her down-to-earth sensibilities, her sense of fun and her strong sense of identity.
She’s come through adversity and hasn’t let it bring her down. Plus the cute quote about Zac always making her happy makes this HRA’s heart melt.

If she did not think was talented why would she bother to be a singer & actress she is not confident in her self and there is nothing wrong in that. If you are not confident how do you expect to ever get hired if you think you have NO talent?

About the article, I think she handled her answers well. Concerning Zac, there is no way she was going to say yes we are planning a future together because then everyone would say they are too young for that. They still want to keep some things to themselves.
What is wrong with her saying that she has been told she was too pretty for a certain part. I am sure she has been told that. Halle Berry was told that many times. That does not make her conceited. Really, how would you make it in the entertainment business without having confidence. Just my 2 cents.

There will always be people who criticize Vanessa. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, but she lives her life for herself and doesn’t compromise who she is just to please other people. Instead of letting the negativity of others bring her down, she chooses a positive path of looking forward and not letting her past dictate her future. Her detractors can say whatever they want about her and it won’t matter because they have no power over her. Positivity nurtures love and negativity breeds hate. Plant your garden and reap what you sow.

Hey bettybaby, zac said almost the same thing in his rolling stone interview. And I agree, they wouldn’t tell anyone they were planning the future together. That goes against their desire to keep the relationship private.

i think negative people will always find something negative in everything that vanessa does and says. crticizing every little thing that normal people can just get away with… i mean if i get punished for every mistake i did when i was 16-19 years old, i would probably be dead right now. she’s human, like the rest of us, and yet she is not allowed to make a mistake, say something wrong or do anything stupid. i will quote miley…’ what is this world coming to?’

Absolutely adorable. She handled that interview with so much maturity. And she’s so positive, outgoing, herself, and she’s kind of living in the now, which is totally cool for someone like her to do after what happened. Vanessa’s going to be absolutely amazing, I just know it. She’s already half-way there.
As for what her mother said, in all honesty, my mother would have said the same thing. Sure she would have been a little disappointed, and I’m sure Vanessa’s mother was disappointed a little too, but even my mom agrees that teenagers do all kinds of stupid things in their teen years and that nobody should be held accountable for them. To punish someone now for something they did in the past, is not only very hypocritcal, it’s also very stupid.
To tell the truth, I was pretty happy when I read the part about how you shouldn’t become “addicted” to your boyfriend. She’s got her priorities straight, she knows that friends and family are just as important as a relationship. And at 19, she shouldn’t be planning the rest of her life with a guy just yet. I like her with Zac, but I also like the fact that she’s not letting him control her life, and she’s being her own person.
When I look at Vanessa, I don’t see a hypocrite, or a fake, or a s.lut, or a girl who’s too full of herself. I see a young woman who’s taking life as it comes at her with a great attitude and enjoying everything she has while she has it. And I think that’s something we could all learn from.
Seriously, I love her. She is so awesome. I love how shes not afraid to say how she messed up and that shes not perfect. I don’t mind what Gina Hudgens said. What is she gonna tell her 18 years old adult daughter? Go sit in time-out? No. The little thing about Zac was adorable. Look, Vanessa didn’t say she wasn’t going to be with Zac in the future. I think it is clear she meant that she doesn’t spend her time thinking about it. She is focused on the here and now and enjoying what they have right now—that’s all we are promised anyway. As she says they will have to see what happens. That seems like what most people do who are still getting to know each other. They are young and they are just starting out in all areas of their lives. They have a lot to put together yet. But when she says he always makes her happy and knows how to make her laugh is a very important thing. And most celebrities that have ever divulged too much about their personal lives has been sorry for it. It is like the kiss of death. It sounds like they are living in the moment and she seems to be that type of girl.
Those of you who are so worried about her not being good role model should appreciate the fact that she is saying how important it is to have your family and other friends be important in your life too even if you have a boyfriend. So, many young girls like Vanessa LIVE for a guy when they are involved and lose other important aspects of life. This is a down to earth attitude and you who want to find fault in that statement want to do just that, FIND FAULT.
What was her mother to say to her when she could clearly see her daughter was traumatized by what had happened to her. I think Gina was trying to lighten the moment. After all, what purpose would it have served to yell at her at that point. I’m sure more serious words were exchanged later once Vanessa felt like she could hold her head up again. I’m sure Gina was more concerned about her daughter’s welfare when she first heard about it than to become self-righteous.

Then these same momas say awwweee, let’e send these to grandma, grandps, aunt and uncle so and so, I bet they would love to see it. Thus the pictures/videos go out in the mail or email and the little ones wait for their relatives and family friends to say how cute they were/are.
So yes, with kids being sponges and absorbing everything, their mothers were in a sense telling them that it was ok.
That to me is the greater of the 2 evils when weighed against the one photo that vanessa took and never intended to get out.

omg the mom just as bad as her she didn’t do anything but laugh and you guys still defend them? lets see parents who would have found out about this would have normally snapped their kids neck others would have had a conversation about how bad of idea doing this was and would got punishment. but her moms didnt care
