Vanessa Hudgens is the cover girl for the February 2008 issue Seventeen magazine.
Here are some great snippets from the High School Musical’s revealing interview:
How are you feeling about the [nude picture] scandal? I’m much better now. But truthfully I don’t like talking about it. It was something that was meant to be private, and even though it isn’t anymore, I’d still like to keep it as private as I can. It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened. I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. But I wouldn’t have been able to get through it if it wasn’t for my family, friends, and fans, who supported me all along the way.
Who told you the photos had been leaked? I found out from my manager. We heard some story was going to break in the tabloids, and I was like, What?!? A few days later, the picture came out while I was on vacation in Australia. Thank God, I wasn’t home–it would have sucked if I was at home. So I got to be away from L.A. for about a millisecond. But when I came back, it got kind of crazy.
How did you explain the situation to your mom? I was just open with her, and she was just so cute. She was like, “Well, everyone can be naked if they want to.” [Laughs] My parents are very supportive of me. And they know I’m a teenager, and yes, kids do stupid things sometimes. It’s very unfortunate because with the Internet these days, you don’t have a personal life. Nothing is private: Everyone knows everything, and they can find out everything about you. You’re not as safe as you think you are, and you have to be aware of the people you’re around.
It’s great that Zac stood by you through all this. To you, what’s the best thing about him? He always makes me happy. He literally knows exactly what to do to make me laugh.
Do you ever think about the future with Zac? No. It’s fun having a boyfriend. He’s a friend and a cute friend who you like. It’s nice. But only time will tell. I’m still young, and I have my girlfriends and I have my family. I think that it’s definitely important to have balance. I think girls can be sucked into the relationship and give too much. They like to be so into their boyfriends, you know? And you can’t do that, because you get too infatuated–and then you lose contact with your friends. It happens to a lot of girls.

Yes rox, it’s unfortunate that some articles misconstrue the truth. It’s so obvious that she’s very into him.
hey, zac knows how vanessa feels about him. that’s all that matters. besides neither of them read the imdb and myspace garbage so none of the rumors will affect them. more power to them.

Steph is a very caring person but she is a WARRIOR! Believe me, if you would ever go into battle you would want someone like her to be watching your back because she would have to be struck down in the battle before anyone got close to hurting you.
As far as us oldies are concerned, maybe some of you younger poster should not be so scared of the difference. Maybe we might have a little more insight to things and can offer some clarity on some subjects. As go sox said earlier, we have not made any comments that would say we are THOSE kinds of people. Yes, you younger ones should not accept all older people who might not be who they say they are. HOwever we have only tried to defend Vanessa and Zac and communicate with all the fans.
THose mentioned like Ellie and Zanessa110 are teens who seem older maybe because they like talking to their “elders”. They are not afraid of us and find we sometimes have some good things to say.
I would like to make an observation about Vanessa and how some perceive her. I remember reading when it first came out how they were a couple(after the Hawaii pics were published) where some people who had worked with them and crew member, etc, said how Vanessa was definitely the more “intense” one of the twosome. Perhaps she is a little more withdrawn when it comes to her peers or other girls. So, unfortunately she may seem stuck up to some. She may find it more comfortable to be with little girls who are 8-9-or 10 years old because she doesn’t feel she has to be on her “guard”. Maybe she isn’t so intimidated.
Watching the behind the scenes of the making of HSM2 I have seen Vanessa watching Zac in rehearsals and sometimes she is laughing and sometimes she is very serious. When she is actually with Zac she is laughing. Yet if she in in the corner somewhere she is very serious and some may think she isn’t very friendly. I’m sure she is not aware of this. When he is rehearsing with Ashley on You are the Music in me and it shows her in the background, she isn’t laughing like they are. Yet when Zac looks over to her she smiles really big. Also, watch the Humhum rehearsal. I also missed Vanessa in that but she is over in the corner with several others and they are all laughing but she isn’t. She’s just has a serious side and many people don’t understand that and mistake it for arrogance. Even Corbin Bleu gushed on what a sweet person she is. Sometimes, I think she is just uncomfortable around people she doesn’t know—perhaps older people.

Does any body know if zac and vanessa are going to the Hairspray sing-along signing, because zac’s seventeen director went, what about him?
i read that they are saying that her friends come first not zac and he broke up with her. i just wish they would be a bit kinder to them and stop picking on them. i like them
I agree with Troy about preferring to believe the account of Zac’s neighbor. But I have a feeling the truth lies somewhere in between the waitress’s story and the Zac’s neighbor’s account.
The neighbor’s account goes along with several accounts in other situations. After the much ballyhooed scandal when we weren’t seeing the two of them smiling much and they went to the Aroma Cafe it was reported that they had been romantic inside the cafe that day. They were reported as snuggling at the Frederick’s charity event and also at the Christmas party before Zac left to see his parents. So, it would seem that these things do happen.
I’m not sure they were kissing and stuff at Paty’s since it seems like a family restaurant and it was well lighted, etc. But I would think that they sit close together in a booth somewhere so when they do talk everyone cannot “listen” in to the conversation. Nor do I think Zac would be spending so much time with someone he finds uncomfortable to be with. He has said it was important to him to be able to talk and has said Vanessa has always been easy to talk to.
Yes, I agree about the phone. She seems to ALWAYS have that phone in her hand when she is with anyone else but I don’t usually see it when she is with Zac.

It seems that some of the questionable magazines like National Enquirer are only interested in selling their magazine. They know how popular Zac and Vanessa are—they were named one of the “power couples” of 2007. So, they print anything about them. I think since there had not been any recent photos of them together since the week of Vanessa’s birthday the National Enquirer jumped on the situation to say Zac had broken up with her. They probably knew he had gone up north to see his family for the Christmas holidays and wouldn’t be around. (A lot of Zac’s fans knew he had gone to his family’s.)
And the thing about Zanessa thinking more of her family stems from one of her answers in the Seventeen interview—an answer that is completely miscontrued, btw.
A couple months ago there was a huge rumor going around about Zac having a zit and him acting like some diva because of it and Vanessa getting mad at him. It was reported on every new’s release like it was fact. Once Vanessa denied these allegations to a pap, then some of these magazines and news agencies started retracting that “new’s report”. It’s sad what some will do to get their magazines noticed and bought. It is sadder what people choose to believe.

I really don’t believe that Zac might be so stupid with someone, specially a girl. And we know that this is not true because wasn’t him that bought a car for her (I think) and we know that the not finish.
So, what is the deal talk this way about someone even some people knowing that this is not true?
We all know that Zac is a good guy, he never will finish a relationship for cell phone and we this people who writed this don’t know if he wanted go out with other girls or not!
Are things so stupid, but I thank’s has people that don’t believe is something like that. I don’t know Zac, but I believe that he is not this kind of guy.
