17: Do you ever think about the future with Zac?
VH: No. It’s fun having a boyfriend. He’s a friend and a cut friend who you like. It’s nice. But only time will tell. I’m still young, and I have my girlfriends and I have my family. I think that it is definitely important to have balance. I think girls can be sucked into the relationship and give too much. They like to be so into their boyfriend, you know? And you can’t do that, because you get too infatuated—and then you lose contact with your friends. It happens to a lot of girls.

I think that Vanessa is a great example of a girl standing up for what she did and facing it with postivity. This article shows her maturity i’m so happy that she is honest to her fans and making herself a prime example to young girls to learn form her mistakes and not do the same. well night Z and V supporters

Vanessa sounds like she is so full of herself and really there are lots of prettier girls in Hollywood who don’t have to tell us how cute they are. Zac could do much better then this chick.

Absolutely adorable. She handled that interview with so much maturity. And she’s so positive, outgoing, herself, and she’s kind of living in the now, which is totally cool for someone like her to do after what happened. Vanessa’s going to be absolutely amazing, I just know it. She’s already half-way there.

As for what her mother said, in all honesty, my mother would have said the same thing. Sure she would have been a little disappointed, and I’m sure Vanessa’s mother was disappointed a little too, but even my mom agrees that teenagers do all kinds of stupid things in their teen years and that nobody should be held accountable for them. To punish someone now for something they did in the past, is not only very hypocritcal, it’s also very stupid.

To tell the truth, I was pretty happy when I read the part about how you shouldn’t become “addicted” to your boyfriend. She’s got her priorities straight, she knows that friends and family are just as important as a relationship. And at 19, she shouldn’t be planning the rest of her life with a guy just yet. I like her with Zac, but I also like the fact that she’s not letting him control her life, and she’s being her own person.

When I look at Vanessa, I don’t see a hypocrite, or a fake, or a s.lut, or a girl who’s too full of herself. I see a young woman who’s taking life as it comes at her with a great attitude and enjoying everything she has while she has it. And I think that’s something we could all learn from.

Look, Vanessa didn’t say she wasn’t going to be with Zac in the future. I think it is clear she meant that she doesn’t spend her time thinking about it. She is focused on the here and now and enjoying what they have right now—that’s all we are promised anyway. As she says they will have to see what happens. That seems like what most people do who are still getting to know each other. They are young and they are just starting out in all areas of their lives. They have a lot to put together yet. But when she says he always makes her happy and knows how to make her laugh is a very important thing. And most celebrities that have ever divulged too much about their personal lives has been sorry for it. It is like the kiss of death. It sounds like they are living in the moment and she seems to be that type of girl.

Those of you who are so worried about her not being good role model should appreciate the fact that she is saying how important it is to have your family and other friends be important in your life too even if you have a boyfriend. So, many young girls like Vanessa LIVE for a guy when they are involved and lose other important aspects of life. This is a down to earth attitude and you who want to find fault in that statement want to do just that, FIND FAULT.

What was her mother to say to her when she could clearly see her daughter was traumatized by what had happened to her. I think Gina was trying to lighten the moment. After all, what purpose would it have served to yell at her at that point. I’m sure more serious words were exchanged later once Vanessa felt like she could hold her head up again. I’m sure Gina was more concerned about her daughter’s welfare when she first heard about it than to become self-righteous.
