Vanessa Hudgens is the cover girl for the February 2008 issue Seventeen magazine.
Here are some great snippets from the High School Musical’s revealing interview:
How are you feeling about the [nude picture] scandal? I’m much better now. But truthfully I don’t like talking about it. It was something that was meant to be private, and even though it isn’t anymore, I’d still like to keep it as private as I can. It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened. I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. But I wouldn’t have been able to get through it if it wasn’t for my family, friends, and fans, who supported me all along the way.
Who told you the photos had been leaked? I found out from my manager. We heard some story was going to break in the tabloids, and I was like, What?!? A few days later, the picture came out while I was on vacation in Australia. Thank God, I wasn’t home–it would have sucked if I was at home. So I got to be away from L.A. for about a millisecond. But when I came back, it got kind of crazy.
How did you explain the situation to your mom? I was just open with her, and she was just so cute. She was like, “Well, everyone can be naked if they want to.” [Laughs] My parents are very supportive of me. And they know I’m a teenager, and yes, kids do stupid things sometimes. It’s very unfortunate because with the Internet these days, you don’t have a personal life. Nothing is private: Everyone knows everything, and they can find out everything about you. You’re not as safe as you think you are, and you have to be aware of the people you’re around.
It’s great that Zac stood by you through all this. To you, what’s the best thing about him? He always makes me happy. He literally knows exactly what to do to make me laugh.
Do you ever think about the future with Zac? No. It’s fun having a boyfriend. He’s a friend and a cute friend who you like. It’s nice. But only time will tell. I’m still young, and I have my girlfriends and I have my family. I think that it’s definitely important to have balance. I think girls can be sucked into the relationship and give too much. They like to be so into their boyfriends, you know? And you can’t do that, because you get too infatuated–and then you lose contact with your friends. It happens to a lot of girls.

Hey bettybaby, zac said almost the same thing in his rolling stone interview. And I agree, they wouldn’t tell anyone they were planning the future together. That goes against their desire to keep the relationship private.
You go Vanessa!!! I’m so proud of her, she sounds like such a great girl. And so humble with the scandal issue too. I love that she’s admitted that it was a mistake and that she’s honest about her feelings towards it. The pictures look great as well. She’s gorgeous. I’m so happy for her :)
i think negative people will always find something negative in everything that vanessa does and says. crticizing every little thing that normal people can just get away with… i mean if i get punished for every mistake i did when i was 16-19 years old, i would probably be dead right now. she’s human, like the rest of us, and yet she is not allowed to make a mistake, say something wrong or do anything stupid. i will quote miley…’ what is this world coming to?’
i know people will say that kids look up to her and that she should be a role model.. well, even she admitted that she tries.. and i think that’s good enough because no person should be pressured into becoming a role model for others… unless you are saint, which vanessa is not.
at least her mom does not pretend to be goody goody and i find her comment hilarious. some celebrity parents pretend to be full of morals (heck, spears mom even authored a book on parenting), but at least mommy gina can still laugh about it and take it in stride. im sure vanessa will not share how her mom reprimanded… and her dad too… and we know how hot blooded her dad can be.
recently news surfaced about lindsey partying on new year and kissing strangers on clubs, and mischa’s dui arrest with drugs in her possession.. i mean hello? can haters just leave vanessa alone and hate on the girls who actually do the same stupid things over and over again???

I Don’t like the way her mom commented on her nude photos. NO parent should just let there kids take pics of themselfs nude and say oh everybody takes nude pics, that is stupid she should had talk to her like a parent not a friend. Also it must be pretty hard to be one of the most beautiful girls in hollywood and date a hot boyfriend. come on, stop making everybody feel sorry for you, if your blasted with your talent and beautiful use it in an good way.Stop saying your going to prove thing, just do it.
