Vanessa Hudgens - “Seventeen” February 2008
Vanessa Hudgens is the cover girl for the February 2008 issue Seventeen magazine.
Here are some great snippets from the High School Musical’s revealing interview:
How are you feeling about the [nude picture] scandal? I’m much better now. But truthfully I don’t like talking about it. It was something that was meant to be private, and even though it isn’t anymore, I’d still like to keep it as private as I can. It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened. I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. But I wouldn’t have been able to get through it if it wasn’t for my family, friends, and fans, who supported me all along the way.
Who told you the photos had been leaked? I found out from my manager. We heard some story was going to break in the tabloids, and I was like, What?!? A few days later, the picture came out while I was on vacation in Australia. Thank God, I wasn’t home–it would have sucked if I was at home. So I got to be away from L.A. for about a millisecond. But when I came back, it got kind of crazy.
How did you explain the situation to your mom? I was just open with her, and she was just so cute. She was like, “Well, everyone can be naked if they want to.” [Laughs] My parents are very supportive of me. And they know I’m a teenager, and yes, kids do stupid things sometimes. It’s very unfortunate because with the Internet these days, you don’t have a personal life. Nothing is private: Everyone knows everything, and they can find out everything about you. You’re not as safe as you think you are, and you have to be aware of the people you’re around.
It’s great that Zac stood by you through all this. To you, what’s the best thing about him? He always makes me happy. He literally knows exactly what to do to make me laugh.
Do you ever think about the future with Zac? No. It’s fun having a boyfriend. He’s a friend and a cute friend who you like. It’s nice. But only time will tell. I’m still young, and I have my girlfriends and I have my family. I think that it’s definitely important to have balance. I think girls can be sucked into the relationship and give too much. They like to be so into their boyfriends, you know? And you can’t do that, because you get too infatuated–and then you lose contact with your friends. It happens to a lot of girls.

ok then?
You have the gall to make Vanessa out as some vile creature and you can only express yourself in profanity—that you can’t spell right—and vulgar terms?

omg the mom just as bad as her she didn’t do anything but laugh and you guys still defend them? lets see parents who would have found out about this would have normally snapped their kids neck others would have had a conversation about how bad of idea doing this was and would got punishment. but her moms didnt care you saw Vanessa the next day smiling for photos on the red carpet which also leads me to believe she leaked her own nastyness

Ok, you better get your facts straight!!!!!!!
-Vanessa did NOT go to a ‘red carpet’ for about a month! And she didn’t even smile for the paparazzi.
-The article means VANESSA LAUGHED, not her mom.
-Vanessa isn’t going to say everything or exactly what her parents told her or did to her.
-and Vanessa didn’t leak her own pictures.
It’s funny how many of you who are not parents yourselves come across so self righteous about how a parent should discipline their child claiming that the way her mother chose to discipline her was ‘wrong’.
Sure, it’s your opinion but it holds little merit because you are speculating ways to raise someone elses’ child. Even if you are a parent- Vanessa is NOT your child to take care of.
omg who does she think she is when she says she doesn’t waana talk about the scandal but she keeps on yapping her mouth then again that is the only reason why she is known she is a real trooper i’ll say -+-

Do you know how stupid you sound?
Seventeen chose Vanessa for the cover because she is a great role-model! Jamie, on the other hand, didn’t have safe sex, and got pregnant. And no, Jamie wasn’t even supposed to be in the cover.
____________________________________________________
so every teen mother is stupid aswell. you don’t know if Jamie was using protected sex or not condoms and pills don’t always work, so you are the one who is looking pretty stupid in this certain case. another thing not everyone considers Vanessa a great role-model.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The point i was trying to make was that Seventeen chose Vanessa because she’s actually a role-model to many people, and she was responsible for her actions. haha, you’re the one who’s looking stupid, considering the fact that you keep on posting comments on this Vanessa post when you don’t even like her. Thanks for giving her more hits!
Well, if that is her mother’s reaction to her daughter being exposed to the world, I’m not in the least surprised by Vanessa’s behaviour.’
Of course, parents should support their children, even when they make mistakes, but this is really just terribly disappointing. I hope that Stella learns from her sister’s behaviour, and makes better choices.
I also think that Vanessa should take her own advice about guys, as she seems a little more invested in this relationship than Zac is.
#143:
Man, I thought when you had won an Oscar that made you more than a C-list actress. At the time Ms Paltrow won her Oscar she was in great demand to make all kinds of movies and even had been engaged to Brad Pitt. But then she decided she would rather take time out to be a wife and mother so she isn’t on the scene right now, but a C-list actress? I don’t think so.
so it look like some people are ignoring the fact that she admitted that she MADE A MISTAKE. she says in the article that she wants young girls to learn a lesson from it, just as she did. okay?
much love to all vanessa supporters
#140–Rudy:
Thank you so much for the compliment!
Yuck, if she goes any further than Disney in her career I will be very surprised, call me whatever you want, I don’t care, that is just what I think. It may be mean but who the hell cares I’m entitled to my opinion. She rubs me the wrong way I think she is fake and only semi talented, she needs to fix her voice, too nasal
great interview, it was very honest. beautiful photos. wishing Vanessa happiness and peace this year.
the point is you proved yourself wrong again. Jamie Lynn is also a role-model to many people, even now that she is pregnant just because something unexpected happens doesn’t mean you’re a bad person or a bad role-model. on the other hand Vanessa came off as a total self absorbed person who calls others ugly. im sorry a great role-model doesn’t see ugly because there is no such thing as ugly. but i can definatley let you know that Vanessa has a very ugly personality and attitude.
responsible for her actions? didn’t Jamie Lynn take responsibility i mean she could have thrown the baby away? thanks for proving to everyone that i made a point and you didn’t im out this thread you’re welcome for the hits no biggie it’s just a computer calm down.
Hi mollylove!
How are you today?
Vanessa is very talented, so i think she’s going to have a great career. Fake? How does she seem fake to you? I think she sounds down-to-earth and mature.
I HAVE A VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO EVERYONE THAT READS THIS SITE REGULARLY:
I have been attacked over and over again by Narf, Steph, Troy, Ellie and some other persons on this site for daring to mention the filthy pictures of Vanessa that are still floating all over the internet.
I was labelled a psycotic who was the only person in America who still wanted to discuss why and how these pictures happened.
But here we see that Seventeen Magazine made those filthy pictures the main topic of their cover article on Vanessa. And just last week the New York Times referenced the pictures on the front cover of the Styles section of the New York Times.
I think that Narf, Steph, Troy, Ellie and the rest need to make a written apology to me on this site…right here right now….because they were totally wrong that america is ready to drop the subect of these pictures.
Even Jared recognizes that Vanessa has not done enough to address this issue by highlighting this excerpt from Seventeen.
Shame on you all.
you know, i think it’s hilarious that people comment about the way someone looks and how they awful they think one sings. It’s so damn easy to be critical online, but never showing your face and never hearing your voice. LOL Because if you were in front of me saying that BS I’d make you sing to see if YOU can sing…
I hope that you will be surprised #162… then will you publicly apologize for making such a cocky statement? Like Vanessa did on 17 mag? LOL, I doubt…
See now not only are you twisting my words, but you’re twisting Vanessa’s words. Vanessa NEVER called anybody ugly. And i never said anything about Jamie not being responsible for her actions. And you just burned yourself, you said “just because something unexpected happens doesn’t mean you’re a bad person or a bad role-model”….well Vanessa I’m pretty sure Vanessa never expected those pictures of hers to be public….
TTT, didn’t read your post… LOL, but just saying Hi anyway
true #162 she seems pretty fake to me but only time will tell….
only time will tell before she starts drawing lines
Vanessa doesn’t really answer any of the questions in the interview. She is pretty much just like “my bad”. She doesn’t explain why as an underage girl she was sending naked pictures to someone else. Does she really expect us to believe that she was not engaging in underage sex after sending these pictures.
I think that because Vanessa did not suffer any consequences from her mistake (other than the shame) she will make even bigger mistakes in the future.
The interview kind of backs this up because her response indicates that while she was embarrassed she didn’t feel like she is morally wrong.
Yeah Steph! You go girl! I think you rock!
steph,
i tried so hard not to comment but Jared posted something on my favorite topic….i’ll try harder next time not to comment…
lol Tony the tiger i think they are apologizing to themselves right now because they thought she was actually famous for some other reason truth is she is only appealing to children but i don’t think troy narf all those other people are kids more like paparazzi except they are online apparntley noone has forgotten her little incident puleeze that is what all her interviews are about and she has no shame in talking about it
