Vanessa Hudgens is the cover girl for the February 2008 issue Seventeen magazine.
Here are some great snippets from the High School Musical’s revealing interview:
How are you feeling about the [nude picture] scandal? I’m much better now. But truthfully I don’t like talking about it. It was something that was meant to be private, and even though it isn’t anymore, I’d still like to keep it as private as I can. It was very traumatic, and I am extremely upset it happened. I hope all my fans can learn from my mistake and make smart decisions. But I wouldn’t have been able to get through it if it wasn’t for my family, friends, and fans, who supported me all along the way.
Who told you the photos had been leaked? I found out from my manager. We heard some story was going to break in the tabloids, and I was like, What?!? A few days later, the picture came out while I was on vacation in Australia. Thank God, I wasn’t home–it would have sucked if I was at home. So I got to be away from L.A. for about a millisecond. But when I came back, it got kind of crazy.
How did you explain the situation to your mom? I was just open with her, and she was just so cute. She was like, “Well, everyone can be naked if they want to.” [Laughs] My parents are very supportive of me. And they know I’m a teenager, and yes, kids do stupid things sometimes. It’s very unfortunate because with the Internet these days, you don’t have a personal life. Nothing is private: Everyone knows everything, and they can find out everything about you. You’re not as safe as you think you are, and you have to be aware of the people you’re around.
It’s great that Zac stood by you through all this. To you, what’s the best thing about him? He always makes me happy. He literally knows exactly what to do to make me laugh.
Do you ever think about the future with Zac? No. It’s fun having a boyfriend. He’s a friend and a cute friend who you like. It’s nice. But only time will tell. I’m still young, and I have my girlfriends and I have my family. I think that it’s definitely important to have balance. I think girls can be sucked into the relationship and give too much. They like to be so into their boyfriends, you know? And you can’t do that, because you get too infatuated–and then you lose contact with your friends. It happens to a lot of girls.

Sorry to hear you can’t sleep. I hate scary movies myself. I love The Mummy and The Mummy Returns movies and have them on DVD but there are certain parts of the first one that I still close my eyes to when it comes to that part. And those movies are not really considered horror movies or anything.

I agree wholeheartedly. The comment by Vanessa’s mom is very telling and goes a long way in explaining why Vanessa is so laidback with regard to the situation. I too hope that her sister and any young girls who may consider her a role model take note of her actions and make better choices for themselves.

It’s 1AM. I work nights but am off tonight. I worked last night and had just a 2 hour nap today so I am quite sleepy at this point and am getting ready to go to bed. But I was trying to catch you to say good night and thanks for supporting Vanessa! I am a regular here. But it drives me crazy that JJ has posted 3 new threads all within 24 hours. It is hard to keep up. But there are already nearly 800 post on the Zanessa thread in just a little over 24 hours!.
To all the ZA’s and other supporters you all are amazing. I pray for a great 2008 for all of you. Will hopefully talk to you all in the morning or afternoon.
i had the unfortunate experience of meeting ms. hudgens this past weekend in toluca lake in the urban outfitters..
me and a bunch of friends were in there just shopping and we heard commotion..
so we went towards the door and who do we see? none other than vanessa..
i was pretty excited because i WAS a fan of hers, up until then, so i waited a couple of minutes and i went over and asked for an autograph..
she’s like “Why the hell do you want MY autograph?”
i said “because you’re famous? and i think you’re a good person, and most importantly, i’m a FAN.”
her mom said “vanessa, just sign the damn thing.”
and she said “whatever.” and she signed a piece of paper. the worst is yet to come.
some of my friends wanted to take their picture with her and she was like, “you guys have no fcking lives. go take pictures by yourself. i don’t have time for this.” and then the paps made their way in..
she quickly got some stuff and left..
her image is F A K E ! she’s mean and stuck up in real life..

In response to your question, the reason I am so “obsessed” with those pictures is because I can’t stand hypocrisy and I honestly thought it was hypocritcal of Vanessa to be portraying herself as America’s sweetheart when she was clearly leading a double lifestyle (not quite as severe as the double lifestyle being led by Zac but that is another story for another thread).
Also I just find it quite funny that she put herself in that predicament. I am a guy after all.
Finally I am a perfectionist who quite honestly has never made a mistake so I live myself vicariously through others who are also supposed to be perfect but make mistakes.
OMG look at Baby V!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She looks awesome and she is totally gonna rule the news stands

hi zanessa fans:
i thought she answered the questions in the interview as a mature young woman. she came through some very stormy weather that seem to hit one storm after another this past year, yet, she held on to that bit of sunshine, saying it was due to her family, boyfriend, zac, friends and fans that stood by her and that helped her to keep going on.
i’m happy to see her out with zac and laughing. they haven’t been able to do that very much here lately. she said she was young and i’ve heard zac say the same thing, that she can’t say about their future because they were young. they are having fun and enjoying each others time together. i hope it will be a long loving and lasting relationship that grows stronger as time passes by.
i am so glad to be a fan. i love zac and nessa, she gives of her time and helps to raise money for charities and cares!!!

You are so full of it. With much research I have found that you go on numerous sites and post so much of the same dribble about everyone else. The only person you seem to like is Fergie—at least it is the only positive post.
IF it is a young male star you make the gay comments. Is that because you are having issues with that situation in someway? You seem to be obsessed in that area. Are you afraid you are gay or are you homophobic and afraid someone who is gay might confront you? Or is it that you have a very sick sense of humor?
I sometimes thing you think yourself to be quite funny and think if you keep posting someone else will “catch on” and see your humor. However, I believe you will find most people never find it funny to insult and demean another person in an attempt to get a laugh. It’s just cruel and there would seem to be a deep inner meanness in the person doing it.
