Last night, authorities said that Britney Spears appeared to be “under the influence of an unknown substance.”
Life & Style is reporting that Brit’s blood tests at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center came back negative.
“Her blood test just came back, and, thank God, it was clean. There are no traces of drugs or alcohol of any kind,” a source says.
Brit’s father, Jamie, and her ex, K-Fed – as well as both of her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James – were spotted at the hospital with Britney.
WHAT DO YOU THINK is wrong with Britney if she’s not on drugs?

I do think there is some serious mental issues going on with Britney.
There were reports in the sumemr that Britney suffered from post partum depression. There is probabyly a high chance that she had this with her first, Sean and it was not dealt with and than and a second pregnancy and baby into the mix so soon. It can and very well have turned into post partum pschosis. Very sad.
I do at times feel for Britney. She was so young getting into show business, it mkaes me wonder if she has the mental capacity of a 25? year old How old is she? Let alone to take care of her self but to raise two toddlers.
I wonder if this incident has anything to do with Britney seeing pictures f K-Fed partyng with Paris Hilton around New Years….and she snapped.

Nothing wrong until all of a sudden a pic of K-Fed and Paris together? She avoided depositions for months, and you want to tell me that she really wants her kids? She only sat in the deposition — no press there, by the way, nice and peaceful all you media-blamers — and walked out into the media only 14 minutes later.
The woman is obviously mentally ill, and has been for some time. She compounds it with LOTS of drugs and alcohol, and after three hours of refusing to hand over her kids after refusing to be deposed, she happens to have nothing in her system now.
She needs help, that’s obvious, and the media chronicling her weird behavior is not CAUSING the weird behavior. No, she doesn’t act like a normal 25-year-old, nor like most 15-year-olds who have ANY sense of responsibility.
You can blame whoever you want, but Britney and Britney alone is making the choices to NOT get help, NOT listen to those who want to help her, take drugs and party, refuse to admit she has problems, and endanger her kids. It’s people like you folks who tell her “nothing’s wrong with you, it’s all the media/your mother/K-Fed/Paris/showbiz’s fault that are literally driving her crazier than she already is!!

oh she definately has some serious depression! my sister in law got it and she was a totally insane, but she couldn’t help it! she got help and a couple of years later she is back to normal. I am really glad she didnt have drugs in her system, i bet that has shut up a lot of haters here!
Britney is mentally unstable. In my opinion, she has gotten to the point of not being responsible for her actions.She needs professional medical help, and for the paparazzi to leave her alone. If she hadn’t been famous, she would just be a sad case of hopefully treatable mental illness.

She’s bi-polar, with manic schizophrenic tendancies. the symptoms are cut and dry. she needs to be treated.

I have seriously thought that this is what Britney has had right from the beginning. I had friend suffer through this and it is devastating. This poor woman needs help and the suport of her family and friends. She needs to get help, get better, get the hell out of where she is living and move away and start her life over. So she can hopefully be a mother to these boys before she ends up locked in a mental institute for the rest of her life.

I agree with those who think Britney has Bipolar Disorder or Manic Depression as someone mentioned. These illnesses are one and the same. The older term used was Manic Depression it is now called Bipolar Disorder. My son is 15 and is Bipolar . He was diagnosed at 10 years old. Many times the illness starts in the late teens or early to mid 20’s. She has classic symptoms of being Bipolar. Without meds she has a 25% chance of committing suicide. A very strong characteristic of the disorder. She needs to be on meds and soon. She has been self medicating with drugs and drinking. I really feel for her and her family. I really hope I am wrong , but she sure is presenting signs of the illness in her behaviors. If she is not bipolar, I’d really be surprised. God bless her and her family . Maybe now she will get the help she really needs.

THIS IS AN ILLNESS. Britney needs help. The 72 hour evaluation might be the best thing for her. A family member (sister-in-law) went through the same thing. Bipolar/very very depressed, very unhappy, paranoid, didn’t like to be told what to do, didn’t want to take responsibility for her actions, felt unloved, unwanted, and had very low self esteem. Was on meds added alcohol then perscription drugs by doctor shopping, then smoked crack. She has a loving family to stand by her who didn’t know how bad it was so didn’t do anything. By the time my sister-in-law hit rock bottom she had one friend left, but this woman was also on drugs. After saying she was going to kill herself, picked up for 72 hour evaluation. Ended up spending 30 days in rehab but 6 months later she is sliding back into her old habits of doctor shopping for drugs. Just think, my sister-in-law has a loving husband, not divorced, not having her children taken from her, supportive parents who love her unconditionally, and very few people know of her problems, and she’s still in trouble.. If this is truly what Britney’s problem is, what do you think the 24/7 stalkers are doing to her. Then there is the lazy good at nothing ex-husband and his lawyers, parents who could care less about her, and then of course every news agency and their crystal ball forcasting her future.

I think she has one or a combo of post pardum/ bi-polar /schizophrenia/ and depression. Its hard to be a huge child star and then “lose” that image because you are growing older and having babies (but your mentally still a spoiled child.) She can’t deal with reality so she surrounds herself with paps because she craves attention. Has anyone wanted her love/friendship for real or because she rich and famous and they finacially benefit? I think she needs tough love and people to stop letting her get away with her bad behavior. Maybe she will be forced to get serious help and straighten out. Also I have to mention that she could be surpressing/not dealing with something tramatic and its causing severe anxiety and for her to sabotage her own custody case. Still, sorry to say I feel little sympathy for her.

I hope the 72 hours is long enough for a proper evaluation. I’m bipolar, and have been saying all along that it’s probably what’s wrong with her. And you have to know that those children know something’s wrong with their Mom. I hope she gets the treatment she needs - and sticks to it, which is one of the major issues with bipolar patients.
I feel bad for this girl!! Hopefully, this will be a wake-up call for her to get some help. What I am waiting on are her mental tests…they are testing her for bipolar disorder and other different mental disorders.

i’m not a fan of hers, but it’s obvious that she’s having a really hard time dealing with her family breaking apart the way it did. seems like her marriage and kids meant the world to her, and now that situation’s totally crazy… she can’t get a break anywhere either - she’s hounded 24-7. we’ve all got commentary for days, but that’s easy when you don’t walk in someone else’s shoes.
Post Partum Syndrome: a very serious form of chemical depression following childbirth, that must be treated with medication. Britney is in serious trouble, and if this condition is not diagnosed and treated, she could become a danger to herself and her children.
I just hope she gets help, it can happen look at Angelina, there’s hope lets just hop she gets it and doesn’t pull a Anna Nicole Smith!

Its called a mental breakdown. She doesn’t need to be on drugs for that to happen. The curious thing about this is that the pap that was stringing along with her the days prior mentioned all the signs of someone going into a mental breakdown state. the incoherent rambling.. the odd behavior…The signs wee all there and given the fact she gave birth and that does affect the brain somewhat. It is not uncommon in women after giving birth.. Dr. Phil was the first to say she may need help for PPD. way back when she had her second child. He saw the signs over a year ago.

I feel really bad for her! I think she was madly in-love with Kevin and when he left her, it broke her heart and that’s why she is acting out! As good as Kevin has turned out, I still think he was after her for her $, this was all part of his plan!

I believe it’s a mental breakdown, I’ve seen it first hand in a mental hospital, this guy was at work and all of the sudden he just snapped and when he got to the hospital he went nuts and started breaking everything and thowing the staff around it can happen believe me! At least know they can make her stay and get the help she needs, as far as Kevin goes he’s the scum of the earth, he’s in Vegas like every weekend, the kids need stability and lets just pray they get it. Too bad that it’s NOT drinking or drugs. At least with drinking and drugs, you can go through rehab or something and then get back on track. You can be treated. If she’s just crazy, or mentally stable, well, that’s something that’s harder to treat, not as easy to “fix” - it could be a problem that she’ll have to deal with the rest of her life.

I’m with everyone else here- this is probably one of the best things that could happen to her, to be under a mandated 5150 watch for at least 72 hours. There’s no denying she’s got mental problems after this, so it’s time to get help.
Perez said that some tarot reader on Mexican TV predicted that she would kill herself this year- maybe he was half right, and the OD happened sooner than he expected.

As for Britney, I honestly don’t know anymore. It’s hard to believe that just 7 years ago, she was successful, seemingly happy, etc. Now she’s hit rock bottom. Mental illness? Hmm, maybe. That sure would explain a lot.

There are more in depth blood tests that can be done to determine if Britney has any drugs in her system and I am sure that will be done on her, if it hasn’t already. She is where she needs to be right now and hopefully will get the help she so obviously needs. I know some of you are saying this is an attempt on her half to gain some attention but she won’t be able to outsmart a psychiatrist. They will know whether or not she’s playing this all up or if something really is wrong with her. I am far from being a fan of Britney although I was at a time, and have rolled my eyes at some of the crap she has done to herself and felt so much sorrow for those 2 beautiful boy’s of hers but it’s time for this train to come to a stop now. I feel for her children. This girl has some serious mental health issues and she needs to be treated for them before she loses total control. There is no way any of this is a publicity stunt and the cameras screaming in her face make it worse. My son has bipolar and in social settings it makes it 100% worse for his anxiety when he wasn’t on his meds. In this day and age there are treatments out there for any type of mental health issue and it doesn’t discriminate from anyone or their family. I wish her boys the best and pray she gets the help she needs.

I always said Britey wasnt on DRUGS..She has suffered major depression and no one took note other than to say she was on DRUGS…when somone is trying to party too much they are trying to FEEL ALIVE instead of dead inside..hair fallin out, nails in bad condition, take her kdis away, anxiety attacks from being dragged to depositions..and the media making fun of you…its pure hell..I hope gets on the right medications and get a lot more support from her family and friends who all desserted her in her time of need!!

It’s really interesting that our culture is so uncomfortable with mental illness that everyone is quite reluctant to believe that Britney Spears is mentally ill. Period. It seems that everyone wants to point to external factors — it’s drugs, or the paparazzi, or fame or whatever. But in fact, she is a young woman suffering from very real mental illness. Of course, drug and alcohol use are by-products of mental illness, and they compound and complicate the underlying problem. I’m no psychologist, but it seems that Spears is suffering from some kind of dissociative disorder. From the casual observer’s point of view, it seems that Spears is not “present” in her self–she seems disconnected from her actions and decisions. Who knows what has caused this, but certainly, it would be strange growing up with a mother who allowed her to become a hyper-sexualized object at a young age, and in addition, she has spent her formative years viewing herself from the outside looking in, rather than the reverse. In some ways, it would seem that she only exists as the caricature reflected in the flash of paparazzi cameras and the hyperbole of tabloid stories, and doesn’t exist as a normal, whole human being, present and aware of reality.
Clearly, Brittany needs mental health care, and all our prayers. Anyone who has ever seen mental illness up close knows its no laughing matter. All who exploit that family’s pain should (and probably will) ************.

Whatever is or isn’t wrong with Britney or any other celebrity, the one thing I can’t stop thinking as I read comments here and elsewhere is, ” Are the people who make the hatefilled comments going to teach their children or other children and adults to be like them, and do they think they look good, or better than the people they attack so viciously by their comments?” I didn’t put my name, because if the question hits home, the attacks are going to fly fast and furious, but I care that I send a consistent message to my children, and others that the difference between human beings and others is the ability to be compassionate.

I might be the exception to the rule here, I believe that Britney would benefit from leaving California. I realize her children are here and that would be a problem. But I believe that any sane person could be driven insane with all the freaking paparazzi harassing you 24/7. I must admit I was driven to tears at all the chaos that took place at her house and was taped by hundreds of paparazzi.
Is it possible to give this woman and her children a break. Enough, already. What is the goal of these people - to cause her to commit suicide or to kill herself and her children. Isn’t anyone thinking that all this drama is causing her children to suffer. These children are going to be marred for life and it will not just be Britney causing the suffering. There should not have been that many people involved. Has anyone thought that it could of scared the life out of the children.
I am just flabbergasted at this drama. I fell really bad for the CHILDREN. They should not be exposed to their mother being dragged off to the hospital and all the paparazzi flashing lights and helicopters flying above.
Such erotic behaivor can only be contributed to mental illness after eliminating the obvious causes that could be (alcohol and drugs). She is really disturbed, and needs to get away, live a normal life, and surround herself with normal, every day people - not the kind of people that make up her unstable family and selfish friends.
I’ll take a guess that she not only has drug problems but is also mentally ill. Maybe bi-polar with an underlying personality disorder - probably borderline or narcissistic? Which means that even if she gets off drugs and is treated successfully for her bipolar illness, she’ll still have the personality disorder. And those don’t go away because the patients won’t believe that there is anything wrong with them. The rest of the world is at fault, not them. I see a poor prognosis for her.
Aleezah, the question is does the woman want a break? She has courted the press for months. The problem is you can’t turn on and off the attention. She is bringing them in bathrooms, having them get gas, doing auctions with them. You just can’t make the press the bad guy in this. Do they cross the lines at time - yes, but Britney has encouraged a lot of their behavior
This poor little girl. I hope she gets the help she needs, and the rest/privacy that she, and every single other human being, deserves. I am simply disgusted with the heartless people who have the nerve to actually LAUGH at this type of breakdown. WHAT is wrong with our country? God bless this girl and her small children. I hope all of you whom are laughing never suffer from a mental illness.

If this were anybody else they’d be in a padded room by now. There is some SERIOUS mental issues at play here, it goes far beyond the Paris Hilton/Lindsay Lohan party chick syndrome–Britney has mentally broken down a while ago. It’s crazy that it took this for people to really start embracing that truth. How could it be believed that someone, a mother of two, is walking around barefoot in gas stations with cameras outside or unable to hold a conversation without a more serious issue than wanting attention? But this young woman’s life is still being blamed by some on the media and an extent I am beginning to agree: if this behavior is being documented on a day to day basis and no medical/legal professional has ordered her confinement then if she ends of dead or killing someone else what then? Everybody clearly saw all the signs. CLEARLY.
