Jake Loves Reese… and Joan
Jake Gyllenhaal has a lunch meeting on Wednesday with one of his PR reps at one of his favorite West Hollywood eateries, the trendy Joan’s On Third.
When Jake spotted paparazzi inside the restaurant, he got up and told them all to leave. SHOO, FLY! DON’T BOTHER ME.
After finishing their meal together, Jake and his rep left in a black Mercedes.
Jake was last spotted with Reese Witherspoon and her kids, Deacon and Ava, over the holidays during a family hike in Malibu.

Additional comparison: Radcliffe has done full frontal nudity on stage night after night. Jake has gone only so far as to expose his backside, in Brokeback and in Jarhead, where he waggled his fanny for the delectation of viewers for some little while. He covered his privates however with a Santa’s hat. Is he just modest or is he ashamed of what he’s got?

Daniel Radcliff, I don´t read about him enough, but I think if he wasn´t like Macauly Culkin, Lindsay Lohan and other, of course, he continues millionaire anyway in the rest of his life.

It’s difficult to tell which of the several “anons” you are, but I would guess you are one of those who thinks saying “he’s hot” or “she’s fugly” is a marvelous demonstration of high IQ. Of when you can manage to put five words together correctly, you say something like “Jake is hotter than X” or “X is hotter than Jake.” You know, really really brainy comments. When he runs into a poster who actually has something to say (other than “X is hot” “X is not hot” “X looks like Y” “X doesn’t look like Y”) he falls all apart in confusion and insults his own IQ, rightly, with projection (look up the term, Anon, if you know how to use a dictionary).
Now: a tidbit of interest. Jake’s father has written a very anti-Bush, super-”liberal” opinion piece for the Huffington Post. Wonder how much Jake’s real opinions overlap with those of his father.

Your ability at psychology is pathetic. You can’t get the picture, can you? As for the anom who prefers Jake with his clothes on, is that because you think without them his “smallness” might be exposed? Radcliffe got super acting credits for Equus; universal praise. Taking off his clothes was just an integral part of the play. Jake’s waggling his fanny at his fans in Jarhead was utterly gratuitous. I like that… “waggling his fanny for his fans.” LOL. Jake “Fannywaggler” Gyllenhaal.
Chris, you hide behind this pathetic attempt at “intelligent discussion”. Please you only use it as an poor excuse to berate and belittle Jake G. You don’t fool me. You don’t have to love the guy but your need to give a “commentary” on everything about him is bizarre. Do you do that with other actors?
That scene in Jarhead was written because it is what happened to the real Tony Swofford. That is your problem if you thought it was gratuitous. Jake did an excellent acting job in that movie. Jake doesn’t need to be Daniel Radcliffe or anyone else. They are both fine actors to me. On a gratuitous note, his package in and out of clothing, which we have seen in pap shots and in the movies, is very fine with me.
Oh come off it. Movies don’t have to follow books slavishly and Jake waggled his fanny eagerly, I have no doubt, for his fans delectation. The scene could have been left out and the movie would probably have been the better for it, although nothing really could have made the movie more than a colossal bore about bored and boring people. The only really good and funny scene in the movie was when the GIs pretended to have gay sex with each other to drive away the obnoxious female reporter. Jake has done some very good things: October Sky and The Good Girl were great. Brokeback was good but Ledger outclassed him. Since then his movies have been bores and box office failures. PS: I have no interest in “fooling you” but I must say you seem to be so defensive about Jake you must be smitten with him. And since I actually have something to say instead of making vapid meaningless statements, to you that is doubtless bizarre. You are not used to people who think. Especially outside your little boxes.
PS I forgot to ask you how closely you have inspected his “package.” I gather that is of great interest, in fact fascinating, to you. LOL.

You seen to be very focused on Jake as if he were so different from most of them. I am sure you could take details of most celebs to task. You seem to target Jake. He seems like a decent guy compared to some.
Just because you found Jarhead boring doesn’t mean it was to others. Your limited mind might not understand that the movie was about waiting and being bored. That was the point. I thought Jake’s work in Jarhead and Zodiac was excellent. I also thought he was amazing in Brokeback and was not outclassed by Ledger. I guess we may have to agree to disagree.
Look whose talking. Why are YOU on this blog if you are not “interested” in Jake? Sweetie pie you have no idea how “decent” he is or isn’t since you only know his IMAGE that is confected by his PR people. (If you don’t know what “confected” means get a big dictionary and look it up). You don’t know him personally at all. Like most star-struck ninnies you think his IMAGE is the real thing. It may be or may not be. Most reviews of Jarhead were lukewarm for the reason I give; it was a boring movie about boredom. Boredom is NOT a good topic for a movie. What was “amazing” about his performance in Brokeback was that he came across often as a upper class Hollywood kid, which he is. He couldn’t keep himself in the role; he slipped in and out of his “accent.”. Ledger was far better and THAT is why he got the Oscar nomination as the leading actor, not Jake And I think nicknaming him “Fannywagler” is.a hoot and will continue to do it. I don’t owe him blind devotion as you seem to think. PS Yes Jake doesn’t appear drunk or drugged in public and as far as I know hasn’t driven his car into a tree. So we should worship him for that? Come on, don’t be silly.

Ugh, Chris, sweetie pie. I am not a ninnie I am well aware that PR tries to portray a good image for Jake. That is what most PR tries to do for most celebs. They do it for Heath Ledger, etc. So what. I said he seems decent and yes it does make a difference that he is not appearing drunk every night or crashing his car. Of course he is not perfect, no one is. And I never said anyone, including myself, has to worship him. Give me a break. Again, you want to use you “intelligence” to insult people. I never said you couldn’t have an interest in Jake. I admit I do like him and think he is a talented actor. I don’t need to put him on a pedestal but you sure seem to want to knock him down a peg or two. Why, do you know him? Probably not.
Forgot to add that I don’t think Jake’s accent in Brokeback was any worse than Heath’s. Jake’s character had to change his accent from Wyoming to Texas and I think he did that well. Heath had a few scenes where he lost his accent. Namely when Ennis dropped off his daughters to Alma at the grocery store where she worked.

Youse is tres silly. People don’t change their accent when they move from one state to another. Oh, maybe somebody as moronic as you might try to, but normal people don’t. I don’t either adore or hate Jake; but I see no reason not to “knock him down a peg or two” if I want. People who make their rich living by displaying themselves for others to judge deserve whatever reactions they get. They ask for it, see? And Heath’s performance was way better than Jake’s. Just ask the woman who wrote the story. She said Heath understood Ennis better than she did and his performance was a “brain ****” for her. She had no particular praise for Jake’s performance. In fact he was rather unlike the character she created. Her character was buck toothed and not particularly good looking. Jake is not bucked toothed and most people think he is good looking. PS I didn’t say either accent was “worse”. I referred to whether the actor got a believable accent and maintained it. Heath did; Jake didn’t.
Chris, you continue to make yourself look silly. You can Google plenty of interviews with the dialect coach from Brokeback. Who said that the Jack character had to take on a bit of a Texas twang because the accent change is specifically mentioned in the original short story. And if you don’t think people can’t change their accents look at all the actors who do it for movies or people who’s accents change a bit because they have moved to a new place, Boston, the South, etc.
Annie Proulx has given audio interviews in which, yes she gives praise to Heath but she definitely gives Jake lots of praise even if his Jack isn’t the same one as hers. Heath’s Ennis doesn’t look like her Ennis either, btw. That doesn’t matter when she said both men were excellent. There are also pictures of Annie and Jake talking at the premiere. You can Google that too because it is the truth.
At this point I am done with this discussion.
