She’s the mother of Britney Spears, who is currently under a 72-hour mental lockdown at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. And who can forget 16-year-old Jamie Lynn, who is pregnant with her first child.
“Everyone has been worried for some time,” says one source to People. “[Brit's] world has been crumbling around her and this is another call for help. Her parents are just devastated. Nobody knows if they can take much more, but they’re trying to be as strong as they can.”
Earlier today, Lynne was “extremely distraught” on the phone with Access Hollywood, and said, “Just say prayers.”

I don’t think they can help her in Hollywood. They need to take her some where more private, away from everybody, so she can heal. It’s gonna take some time, but i think its best that way.

I want to commend you for handling this maturely, because we all know alot of jokes could be made about Britney at this time but she is a girl who is in need of serious mental health and people need to understand that. She is a sick person, and by acting respectful towards her shows alot of your chratcher. Thankfully you haven’t taken the Perez Hilton route, the biggest low-life alive.

I never once judged Britney negatively because I know she needs help and I am praying for her. Hopefully the hospital and her family can convince her to get help. I do not want this to end up like Anna Nicole. Nothing is impossible, anything can happen.

Seeing all those paparazzi eager to get a shot of her and blocking the ambulance’s way… it’s just disgusting. Anyone would go crazy with that kind of life. Poor Brit, I feel bad for her, she obviously didn’t receive enough guidance through everything she’s been through. Being pushed to perform at the age of, I don’t know, 6 (?) and with all the celebrity life stuff afterwards, it kinda makes sense that she’s not well. I’m glad I don’t have a mom like she does. Wow. I am no Britney fan, I think she brought most of the stuff that has happened to her on herself. But she obviously is mentally ill on top of everything else and is in need of serious help. I do hope somehow she is able to overcome her obstacles.
I just feel so bad for those babies. I can only imagine how it must have been for them in essence being held hostage by their mother who was out of her mind. Truly sad.
I wonder why California doesn’t have some sort of a law about pap chases. It certainly puts all citizens in danger. You can hardly blame Kevin for trying to prevent more trauma to those little ones, but at the same time that’s no way to drive.

I don’t think that K-Fed was going to the hospital to be by Britney’s side, their youngest son was also brought to the hospital. He might have looked in on her, but he didn’t specifically go to be ‘by her side’.
Maybe if Lynne had actually been a mother, her daughter wouldn’t be in a mental hospital and the other one one wouldn’t be pregnant at 16. But no, it was just all about the money to her. She looked at her girls and saw $ signs. Yeah Lynne, you better ask for prayers, because that’s the only thing that can help you right now. And as someone else said, was the money really worth it?
Britney is a product of so many poor choices made by others and herself, i.e. stage mother-lost childhood/lost young adult, should never have married loser K-Fed, children born only 12 months apart, probably suffered serious (ongoing) postpartum depression that went untreated, and a man who preferred to spend his time in Vegas with a bunch of loser rappers drinking and partying while neglecting his wife and children though living off and spending her child-labor money!
K-Fed is no hero in this story….just give him custody of the children, let him get a JOB and support his children like other single fathers, and (then) none of them will be caught up in the tug of war and the outrageous exposure of attorney and TMZ reporting any moment she has breathed since the original separation.
Some judge needs to appoint a neutral outside guardian/mentor on Britney’s behalf who can assist her in seeking the appropriate psychotherapy while developing the ability to make wise choices for herself and her children.

Good heavens, how can Lynne Spears possibly help Britney now? After helping to totally scréw up her life, now she’s going to help put it right?
The only thing I can see helping Britney at this point is a good dose of tough love. You made your bed, you lie in it. She’s no child any more. She’s 25 years old and it’s past time she took some responsibility for her life.
It’s a very true saying that you have to want to change. Nobody can help Britney until she makes up her mind that she needs help and is ready to accept it.
I feel for her and the Spears family. Obviously something went wrong with Lynne’s parenting skills’. I think somewhere down the line her values got screwed up and the work (getting Britney to stardom and maintaining it, getting Jamie Lynn on the band-wagon) became the priority instead instilling the values that would keep her kids from ******** up like they did.
I’ll have them in my prayers, but only for the sake of Britney’s children and the sake of Jamie Lynn’s unborn child. Hopefully in this case lightning won’t strike twice in the same place. =)

Let us all realize that the first step she will have to take is admitting she has a problem. Since she appears to hold no one’s opiniuon higher than her own, it is unlikely that she will accept that conclusion. While it may be incomprehensible to many that she might not have normal maternal instincts; what chain of logic could she possibly have that allowed her to think that her ongoing behavior and failure to comply with court ordered depositions would result in anything but the loss of her children. Therefore - either she doesn’t really care or want responsibily for the kids or can’t see the obvious conclusions of her actions. There is no person who has the legal right to force her in to a mental health program. After the present evaluation, the court may disallow her visitation with the children but they will have to release her. As long as she remains in denial that she has a problem, she will get no help and eventually self destruct. What a shame.
Kevin was NOT driving the truck. He was driving the white SUV that was in FRONT of the truck. His bodyguard was driving that truck. Look back at the pictures of the black bodyguard in that truck from earlier. It was the bodyguard who was blocking the Paparazzi so that Kevin could get away. He did a great job at it !! And he pulled into Kevin’s property behind Kevin, which is where he started from. So get your facts straight before you accuse Kevin for driving eratically. It wasn’t even him !!!

The media did not make her decide not to turn the kids over at the appointed time so don’t blame them. The media did not make her show up over an hour late for her deposition. I 100% agree with you. K-Fed and his piece of cr*p lawyer Kaplan pushed Britney to the edge. If Kevin was so concerned for Britney’s mental welfare and for his sons he would have HELPED her throught this from the very beginning instead of constantly hammering at her with his lawyer and depositions and sh*t. Britney didn’t start to fall apart until Kevin Federline came into her life. He sucked her dry of emotion and money.
Britney is an adult and yeah, of course, she is accountable for her actions. No one can really help her until she helps herself.

The parent raises the child; they guide them through childhood by teaching their children right from wrong, good from bad, etc. Your childhood usually has an impact on your adult life; that’s why kids with loving parents who taught them what’s right and what’s not usually turn out to be loving, stable people. That’s also why kids with abusive childhoods or kids who didn’t really have a parental figure turn out to be not-so-stable adults with many issues.
Lynne pushed Britney into the spotlight at a very young age and worked very hard to make sure her daughter became famous. She had Jamie-Lynn follow in Britney’s footsteps. To her, it was all about making money off her girls. Granted, it’s not ALL Lynne’s fault, but had she been a better mother, I doubt Britney would have turned out like this.

its being reported that brit spears refused to take a breathilizer test on the scene when asked by officers ,whom said she appeared intoxicated and on something. the hospital will not confirm that she is even in the hospital let alone tested negative for drugs. I always believed she is not on drugs. I think if I was exposed to celebrity culture at my early teens, had a mom that pimped me out instead of making sure I am educated, had a divorce and current custody battle, and living in LA without any real friend or family support,…. well, i would go mental as well. Not saying she is not at fault, but its been hard. And accepting you have mental illness or bad psychological problems is not an easy thing. Hope she gets good help and can enjoy her life soon.

It looks like she’s more upset because her daughters’ turmoils are preventing her from releasing her book (and thus making bucks). You know what? She reminds me of Anna Nicole Smith’s mother, who was giving interviews just a few hours after her daughter’s death… I just hope there won’t be such a bad ending, for the federline kids’sake… Ireally feel for their kids, to be stuck in such a messed up family…

Britney Sedated, Refusing Visitors
Britney Spears is sedated and resting in the psychiatric unit at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. A family insider tells PageSix.com that the singer requested that no visitors be admitted and her doctors agreed.
In the meantime, more details are surfacing about the singer’s early-morning showdown with police. After Britney refused to give the kids to Kevin Federline’s bodyguard, her ex-husband went to her house to retrieve them himself.
“When Kevin got to the house and saw how messed up Britney was and how distraught the boys were, he tried to get her to release them,” the source tells PageSix.com.
The mother of two responded by locking herself in the bathroom with son Jayden (and possibly Sean) “in an effort to hide from Kevin and then the police.”
The origins of the black-and-blue mark that sent one-year-old Jayden to the hospital along with Britney remains a source of contention.
“Right now we hear that she is telling the police that the bruise was on Jayden when she got him from Kevin,” the source tells PageSix.com. “However, I have been told that the bruise was caused when Britney pulled Jayden into the bathroom. He was afraid, and she forced him, causing the bruise.”
The exes have not had much interaction since the bathroom standoff.
“Kevin tried to talk to Britney at the hospital last night and she freaked out,” says the insider. “He wanted to try and get to the bottom of what she did, but she was not cooperative.”
Along with Britney’s family, Kevin is also said to want a judge to order the singer into rehab.
“Britney is in a horrible state of mind,” says the source. “Suicidal is an accurate description. She has made threats, in the past, and recently in words such as ‘I should just drop off the face of the planet’ and ‘If I were dead…’”
However, the source assures PageSix.com that Britney might only be a danger to herself and “has never made threats about hurting the boys.”

On another note I hope they continue to hold her forcefully beyond the 72 hours at Cedars-Sinai to really start on intensive treatment for her own good. I mean she can’t even see her kids anyway if she comes out so there really is nothing for her on the outside right now. It’s the only hope there is and 3 days is not gonna change anything at all.
There is hope yet for Britney, Courtney Love, Whitney Houston and others managed to get their kids back and their lives back to some semblance of normalcy after treatments. Treatments being the operative word and plenty of time as well.
Britney is making bad choices for herself, holding her for 72 hours is not enough time to start treatment on her mental condition, it wouldn’t suprise me if she’s bi-polar and needs medication.

Lynne Spears knows what she is doing every minute of the day. Think about it - why in the world, when paps are everywhere, would she go to her sister’s grave, and be photographed like she was today and the dramatic pictures are appearing everywhere. Why would she speak with an interviewer with the prayer comment when she should have been on her way to LA. Even if Britney didn’t want to see her, she should have been nearby to let Britney know she cared. The woman is capitalizing on this event to appear like the poor, pitiful Mother who tried sooooooooooo hard. Her book deal is on hold but supposedly still to be published by the Christian publisher in Tennessee and I guarantee the dramatic picture at the grave site will be in in. Media consultants have all commented on her judgement and irresponsibility in capitalizing on her youngest daughter’s pregnancy. The daughter is a minor so she had to give permission for the interview. Maybe Lynne Spears can co-write a book with Virgie Arthur, or Michael Jackson’s family, or Michael Vick’s mother and father, on why their children suffer from arrested development; why they never taught them to become productive adults. Oh, I forget, they took the lazy way out and didn’t want to deal with tantrums or confrontations because if they did, the money might be cut off. One more thing about vultures . . . if Dr. Phil really cared about Britney, he would not capitalize on it, he wouldn’t comment about it, nor do a show about it. He would deal with Britney and her family in private but gosh, I forget, there are ratings to think about. He is losing more and more respect. No wonder Oprah has disassociated herself from him. I met Britney like 3-4 years ago on The Queen Mary i think it was the day before or on the 4th of July.
i was like 7-9 years old.
I didnt even know it was her!
i was just dancing to music.
and she walks up to my mom and dad and says” aww shes so cute :)” and smiled.
then she went to the bar [ where we were but kids are alound in till 8.]
and got a drink and left.
and my mom calls me over shes like ” i think that was Britney Spears.” and im like “WHAT?! where?!” and wanted to go look for her but my mom said ” no we arent stalkers!” i got mad.
