Zanessa @ Palm Springs Film Festival
High School sweethearts Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens (in Mblem) make their first red carpet appearance together at the Palm Springs Film Festival on Saturday in California.
Zac, as usual, had all of his female fans’ panties in a bunch. According to The Desert Sun, five female friends and cousins wore white T-shirts spelling out the word Hairspray in hopes of seeing the teen hearthrob.
“I almost hope it rains, I love it when (Zac’s) wet,” said Bekah Hoesterey, 16, of La Quinta.
There’s also some video footage of Vanessa braving the rain Friday night here.

Zac Efron hit the Palm Springs Film Festival showing off his most valuable possession- his longtime girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens. Looks like love is still in the air for this young hollywood couple. They showed up matching and very much together! In fact they were inseparable the whole night. Vanessa supporting her man stood to the side while cameras snapped pictures of solo Zac. She even cheered on his name while fans went wild for his attention. After they walked hand and hand inside. Zac was also seen giving Vanessa an affectionate kiss to her shoulder and even putting his hand around her waist on and off during most of the night.

Yes, there are some serious official red carpet pics where they’re having to pose and probably listen to all the photographers screaming at them to look their way. But if you look at the moments where they’re looking at each other, or he’s whispering in her ear, you get a very different picture. This was the first time he actually took her to a Hairspray event where they arrived together. Why would you have a problem with a Zac taking his girlfriend of about 2 years out to such a nice event honoring his movie??

Celebrities bring their significant others to red-carpet events like this ALL THE TIME. So why do people freak out and complain when Zac brings Vanessa, his girlfrined of about 2 and 1/2 years, to an event for his movie? I don’t even necessarily care about Zac/Nikki pictures at this point. It’s not that important to me. The night was about the cast as a whole, and I guess I was a bit peeved that Zanessa was the headline when there are other pictures that could’ve been used that actually pertained to the cast and not Zac and Vanessa.
Yes I’m a Zac/Nikki fan but I also realize that, at the end of the day, Zac is going to be with who he wants to be with and there’s nothing i can do about it. More power to him as long as he is happy.

This is to any of the people who are complaining about Vanessa attending the Palm Springs International Film Festival with Zac, would you be up arms to see a picture of John Travalota with wife Kelly Preston or Michelle Pfieffer with husband David Kelly? I mean they would have no business there technically because this is about “Hairspray” not them, right?
I really hope the answer to those questions would be: “Of course not, don’t be ridiculous.” Well, Zac and Vanessa ARE DATING and have been for two years now that makes her his significant other, so why shouldn’t he want to share this special moment with her just as Mr. Travolta and Mrs. Pfeiffer would want to share it with their spouses? Answer there’s no reason at all.
As far as to why Jared has chosen to post this well the fact of the matter is they get hits. Like them or not they are the “Brangelina of their generation, no other couple their age has their status,” those aren’t my words Perez Hilton said that (and he ain’t no Zanessa fan) so take that for whatever you think it’s worth. Plus they don’t DO the red carpet thing so for them to make this appearance is kind of newsworthy.
I do agree with those who say Nikki Blonsky deserves her own thread because she did pick up an award and hopefully come morning she will get one. #366 Just for the record I wasn’t specifically referencing you in post #365 at all. In fact I kind of agree with you that Jared should have put put other threads as well as this one about the fesitival. It is kind of a slight whether intended or not to the actors received awards. i say this as a full-blown Zac and Vanessa supporter.

I love seeing them like this-dressed up, at ease with the cameras, (as opposed to when paps lurk around) and let’s admit they even ham it up a little at the red-carpet events, which is so playful and fun! This is when I like Zac and Vanessa the most :) I hope to see more red carpet events and less paparazzi pics on the site!
I also hope there is recognition for the award show as a whole (including all the evenings’ winners). Pretty much the whole cast including Nikki Blonsky, Elijah Kelley, John Travolta, Queen Latifah, James Marsden, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Taylor Parks, Allison Janney and even Amanda Byrnes and Brittany Snow all outshined him. He only has one facial expression throughout the film.

Camie I felt the same way about the pictures that they seem distant. I don’t know if you have seen the new set of pictures, its of the arrivals that Zac is whispering into her ear and others of them looking at each other and their faces are glowing. I think they are okay. Those pictures warmed my heart. Go back and check them if you have not seen them you’ll feel better.

This is so sad Nikki Blonsky gets the Rising Star Award (a pretty big deal) and all JJ can focus on is Zac and Vanessa. This was suppose to be Nikki’s and HS night but as we see it turned into the Zanessa show. In most of the pics Zac and Vanessa look really unhappy. Don’t give me that crap he is trying to protect her(he took her to a major event where cameras would be) yet neither of them look happy. Wonder why that is. Pics don’t lie (I think I saw one pic with a genuine smile on Zac’s face). This is suppose to be a happy couple in love. Not really buying it.

Thanks for the pics, and they might not look like their the happiest people on the picture up there, but if you look at the rest of them they so look happy about being together, maybe it’s just hard with a bunch of people screaming your name while others are taking pictures of you, it must be distracting. Besides, you can’t smile 24/7, or even during a whole night, it’s not normal and if anyone did, I would say that there would be something wrong with them,
I love the picture where Zac leans in and whisper something to Vanessa, the smile on her face made me smile, really cute, but there is tons of pictures where they look and smile at each other, heck, they even look like their in their own little world and sharing this secret that only them know about.
There was one picture where it looks like he’s either smelling her hair, whispering something, or it’s possible that he started laughing and buried his face in her hair because he’s used to do it, and maybe he just wasn’t thinking, but either way, it’s really cute.

But you must have passed by the dozens of links to more pictures that have been on this thread, where they are more themselves, relaxed and cozy with each other. Yes, pictures don’t lie. So look at them ALL, and then if you honestly still think they look unhappy, then I know there’s not a romantic, sweet bone in your body!
I wish everyone would stop being angry with Vanessa because JJ posted this thread first. It was probably just the first pic they got of the night. But that’s NOT Vanessa’s fault.
