George Clooney @ Critics Choice Awards 2008

George Clooney flashes his million-dollar smile at the 2008 Critics’ Choice Awards held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium on Monday in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 46-year-old actor presented the Joel Siegel Award to his Ocean’s Thirteen costar Don Cheadle for his work “both on- and offscreen, inspiring and contributing to the good of humanity.”

Clooney, 46, is being credited with inspiring the actors’ boycott against the Golden Globe Awards.

Said one NBC executive, “We know Clooney is a major force behind this decision. He has been earbashing others who may have been willing to cross picket lines.”

It would seem that the master prankster’s plan worked! The Golden Globes were officially canceled earlier today by The Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

“We are all very disappointed that our traditional awards ceremony will not take place this year and that millions of viewers worldwide will be deprived of seeing many of their favorite stars celebrating 2007’s outstanding achievements in motion pictures and television,” HFPA president Jorge Camara said. “We take some comfort, however, in knowing that this year’s Golden Globe Award recipients will be announced on the date originally scheduled.” (The winners will be announced during a news conference at the Beverly Hilton.)

he was my first teenage celebrity crush back in the 90’s.

god he may be older but he’s still got it. i would leave my husband tomorrow for this gorgeous man if he came knocking at my door. hell i wouldnt care if he was 90, bald, toothless and on a life support machine, he”d still be sexy for me.

It’s time for him and Brad Pitt (sorry, peeps) to pass the hotness torch. Both are well past their prime.

Brad is still hot, don’t know what you talking bout!!!!

So what if he did play a role! The fact is, the Writers’ Guild has issues that are important enough for them to go out on strike. They are striking against huge multi-national, multi-billion dollar corporations.
So if the Guild can put the hurt on those corporations by forcing them to cancel shows where they would have made money from the advertising dollars, maybe they will settle. Because just maybe the public will be upset missing their favorite shows and they will demand the strike gets settled. And the actors might have to go out on strike later this year so it would be nice to show their support for the writers right now. Clooney is very outspoken. I love him!!! He is smart talented rich and good looking. He also seems like a good guy.

He looks great!

Thanks Jared!!

damn, what happened to him??? i never thought he was hot but I COULD see how others could find him to be so….but now??? it’s like he jumped across the river instead of taking the bridge. i want to give him some ensure and ask him if he needs his diaper changed. gotta go put on my wrinkle cream and brush with my rembrandt now….peace.

I don’t belive he had anything to do with the Golden Globes boycott. There’s an article at http://www.clooneystudio.com stating otherwise. He does look good. :)

The Golden Globes were in jeopardy because they did not work out an agreement with the writers. No one would cross the picket line, regardless of what George says. He does look good though.

He used to be really hot but he had hit the wall big time. Too much
booze and women? 46 is not that old if you age gracefully. Women
should start loking at Daniel Craig. He’s way hotter and a much better actor. Smarter and had more substance than George. Have seen both their interviews at You Tube and Daniel Craig is funnier, cuter and much more interesting! Too bad, George, you are no longer the Sexiest man alive. :(

He’s still sexy to me. And he wears a tux so well. I wonder why his ***** wasn’t with him. I doubt she had anything more pressing to do. Maybe he got tired of her.

#34 Daniel Craig is a w*nker and he’s made of plasticine, he’s also a **** actor and not even a quarter of the actor George is. DC pretty much ruined the Bond franchise. Gerard Butler would have made a much better and sexier Bond because he can actually act.

As for Georgie Porgie well he just has the IT factor no matter how much he ages. Like Carry Grant and Robert Redford, he’s charming and timeless. In another words any woman would be lucky to be able to shag the pants off of him.

I have met Daniel Craig and he is a rude arrogant man and has his head up his own a*se and frankly he can keep it there along with his play doh c*ck

I beg to differ belle.

He is still sexiest man alive, more so as he ages.

In my opinion, he was “perfection” last night at the Critics Choice Awards. He went to present Don with much deserved award and thought enough of his friend, he didn’t want it overshadowed with his personal drama. I found him extremely nobel at that event and so very handsome.

When he was presenting Don with his award, I thought to myself, if that man was President, imagine how much fun watching politics would be. :-)

George has a charisma with the camera that overshadows everyone else in the room. But, he put it on dim last night and let Don shine. Loved it on George. And bonus round for Don, because he “owned” the room. As he should of.

I think George is nice looking when he is dressed up but when he has a beard not so much

Not me, I love his beard. Course scruffy in it’s first week of growth is my personal favorite. But, I like the full beard on him as well. Can’t wait to see him in Burn After Reading with his scruffy appearence.

I was watching The Perfect Storm the other day and he wore scruffy in that movie. I find it very attractive on him.

He is the HOTTEST thing in Hollywood for years! A real man. And, like fine wine, he just gets better with age!!! Love him !!!!!!!!!!!

Well Tiger, in my opinion, George Clooney owed Don Cheadle one. The Nobel Laureates were so overshadowed by George’s personal problem, that Don Cheadle was practically overlooked. Kudos for George Clooney for not letting the personal problem take over this event for his friend.

I agree TiredofthisCrap. I wanted to give him a good swift kick in the butt at the Nobel Laureates when he showed up with his personal drama and over shaowdowed Don completely. I am thrilled he was man enough to make it right.

George I think it’s time you start getting botox injections, you are looking old!!
