Kate Bosworth and British model boyfriend James Rousseau stroll through Sydney in each other’s arms on Saturday.
“I love coming here,” Kate has said. “It’s truly one of my favorite places in the world. It always feels like coming home.”
The 25-year-old actress is currently in Australia filming fantasy action film Laundry Warrior. According to Wikipedia, the story is about an Asian warrior (Korean actor Jang Dong-gun), who is forced to hide in a small town in the American badlands. He meets the town drunk (Geoffrey Rush), and a circus knife thrower (Bosworth), both of whom have powerful secrets.
Laundry Warrior is set for a 2008 release.

We went to this bar in the Lower East Side called Dark Room, but there was barely anyone inside. When we walked in, I went straight to the bathroom, and there were two girls in one of the stalls, obviously doing coke - A LOT of coke… line after line after line.. it was pretty funny. But from what my friends told me, it’s kind of known for that.. girls and guys are always doing coke in the bathrooms. After fixing my makeup for a few minutes, I left, and they were still in there. @ #39: Orlando talked about his biological father and his mother telling him the truth (when he was 13) in one of his past interviews. It may have been a “GQ” or “Flaunt” magazine interview. Basically, the story is that Harry Bloom couldn’t have his own kids, for whatever reason, so he ‘encouraged’ his wife to have them with a close family friend. This would have taken place in 1974 and 1976, since Orlando was born in Jan. 1977 and his sister is about two years older. Invitro fertilization may not have been around back then, and if Harry was sterile, it wouldn’t have worked anyway. It’s possible Orlando’s mom didn’t know that Harry couldn’t have children of his own. I can’t fault her for being with an older man, as many younger women gravitate towards older men, for reasons ranging from financial security to mental and emotional maturity. From a woman’s point of view, older men are often infinitely more interesting than younger men. Sorry, but they often just are - at least in my opinion. An older man has lived more of life, knows what he wants, has built a career, isn’t still trying ‘to find himself,’ and can do more than just stare at woman’s breasts or gawk at her. He can think more with his brain than with his *****. Sonia may have noticed that and been drawn to his intelligence, courage, and for what he believed in. Or, she may have been drawn to him for financial reasons. Was he worth a lot of money? Who knows? It’s been presented to the public not as cheating or infidelity but as a desire to have children with a man possibly too old to have his own (for whatever reasons) and therefore a close male friend of the family was chosen. I’d like to think Colin Stone was more than a sperm bank and that he played a strong role in Orlando’s upbringing. I firmly believe that a boy needs a father, or at least a strong male figure to guide him and help raise him and show him what it means to be a man. There are things that a boy learns from his father that his mother cannot teach him, and there are things that a girl learns from her mother that her father cannot teach her. I hope Colin was there for Orlando during those times when he needed his dad’s support and wisdom.

@#42/43: I think you’re points are well made. Let’s be fair, however, and not make grand assumptions about all the negative posts about Kate or Orlando being made by The Usual Suspects. Name any actor, and you’ll find people who favor that person and those that don’t. Then, you’ll find people who ADORE that actor, and those that can’t stand him or her. I don’t think Orlando’s career is finished, but I do think he needs to choose his next role carefully. That’s all. In terms of who he has or hasn’t hurt, that’s up for grabs. People making that kind of statement need to be more specific, if possible, and maybe give some examples.
All I know is people don’t like being lied to, deceived or manipulated. Heck, I’d apply that to the general public because we’re all human. If some of Orlando’s fans have a grudge against him because they feel he lied or put up an image that was fake and false, and they fell for that image and admired him for what he appeared to be, then it stands to reason that those fans will feel deceived. From their point of view, Bloom sold them a fake bill of goods. The worst that can happen is that they won’t support him or see his films. Big deal. If he looses a lot of fans and public support or interest, then he may feel a slight sting somewhere along the way. Actors need fans and public support - if for no other reason than to justify casting them over other actors as well as the hefty salaries.
He’ll be around for a while, and I don’t think his world is coming to an end. He might have some negative Karma, though. I’m definitely getting that vibe.

Yes actors need fans. And if fans no longer like an actor then they should move on. Actors and other entertainers owe fans nothing other than to entertain us with their work. Who said we have any right to judge their personal lives or even care about them? I became a fan of Orlando’s because of his work, not because of his “image”. Later I liked who he seemed to be. I still like it. He’s a man who is doing the best he can and who owes me nothing. And owes you (plural) nothing either.

Anna, my comment was only in response to the fact that his post had been hijacked by Orlando fans (of which I am one yes) who had nothing to say about Kate, only wanted to comment on Orlando. Actually, I think this post should be solely for Kate fans. I don’t see why Orlando fans should have so little to do that they should come here simply to badmouth Kate since it’s long over between them or to go on and on about Orlando’s life when that is completely OT. I didn’t rag on Kate, I was only replying to the fans of Orlando’s who can’t seem to move on. I wouldn’t have commented at all otherwise. Since others brought it up I felt justified in commenting, but I wasn’t the one that started an OT conversation.

@ #52: Agreed. Key word in your post is “chose”. It was his choice to make and no one else’s. If he was that unhappy, he could have found another model or actress. There were plenty to choose from.
If people want to avoid discussing - or dissing - the exes, it would help, in my opinion, if certain remarks weren’t made. If certain remarks ARE made, posters who make such remarks can expect some negative responses. Speaking for myself, I resent the accusations made by people that Kate is gay when the only proof they have is their online ‘word’, which means nothing to me. I also resent judgmental comments about Orlando’s parentage, since he had no choice in the matter. Sorry if I’ve gotten off topic, but people come to certain boards to make snide remarks or sideline insults and then the usual “so and so’s fans can’t let go” comments inevitably follow. The poster who made the nasty comment about Bloom’s parentage was out of line, in my opinion. Suggesting Kate is gay is also out of line, and like I said else where, I’m happy for her and James. I don’t always agree with her fashion choices, but I can still be happy for her as a person and a woman.
For those people who can’t stand her, why Google her (if you are), or visit places like these where some pictures of her show up? Again, Orlando’s fans say the same thing when so-called “haters” show up to make nasty remarks about him. These two aren’t together anymore, so it’s not like either one is being shoved in the public’s face constantly as a couple, which some people felt was happening at the time.
I also agree with your comments, Anna. People do need to move on. And Kate must be doing something right because she’s definitely in a much better place in her life right now than she was last year, the year before, and the year before that. I say that based on her overall appearance. Whatever she was going through, I’m glad that she seems to have snapped out of it. I also agree with the person who said that people’s weight can fluctuate. Kate’s not that tall and has a small frame, so any weight loss or gain will probably be fairly noticeable. If she were really tall and had a larger frame, it wouldn’t be so easy to see.
Not crazy about the sunglasses, but why should actors dress to please the paparazzi and the press all the time? On some days I dress better than on others. One day, I’m in sweats, and the next I might be in jeans with pumps and a cute sweater.
In terms of what actors owe the public, I think they need to be careful about what they put out there for consumption. If they say one thing and seem to turn around and do something else, it can affect their credibility in some respects. Actors who become celebrities can use their name and fame to further a cause or bring awareness to a situation. So, it stands to reason that those actors know they have the ability to reach people and influence them in some ways. Celebrities need to be aware of what messages they may be sending out, what kind of public image they want, and once an image has been crafted, molded or created, they have a responsibility to live up to it. Otherwise, they’ll be labeled phony or hypocritical. They often want the attention, but when the attention brings certain responsibilities or burdens, they want to be left alone. So, which is it going to be? Sometimes, you can’t have it both ways. If you don’t want the burden of living up to an image, don’t create one. Just be yourself. At least that way, you’ll be consistent and honest. If an actor and his people put things out there or create an image that the actor can’t live up to, that’s his or her problem, not mine. The actor and his PR people should think about that from the beginning. If they don’t, again, that’s their problem. They’ll have to live with it an deal with it – including negative public fallout.
To answer a question posted earlier, I currently live in the states. Also, I don’t believe that the husband encouraged his wife, Sonia, to sleep with another man to bear children. Also, I never said that Orlando was an awful person simply because of his parentage, just that he is turning out a lot like the creature that sired him. I do happen to like Orlando, but am making an objective comment. I get tired of the haters who trash Kate all the time (calling her a lesbian is indeed out of line) yet get upset when Orlando is criticised. Kate and Orlando’s relationship is in the past, move on and let it go. Kate and Orlando have done so, everyone should do the same.
One other thing- I have to comment on the idea that older men are automatically more interesting than younger ones. I do not think that is true, generally. It may be true of intellectual/artistic men, or actors, models, (i.e. men who do not live in the mainstream world) but generally speaking older men often seem more boring than younger ones, because the lives they lead are narrow and they have less opportunities to broaden their horizons. So many women seem bored with their husbands. And certainly, most ‘older men’ do not look so good, despite the fact that men are supposed to age well, but in the mainstream world, that does not happen much. Really many men are only good-looking as boys and once they hit their 20’s its all over. So the reason that women are drawn to older men is mostly due to security, whether its emotional, mental, or financial.
