Maggie Gyllenhaal and actor husband Peter Sarsgaard attend the 2007 New York Film Critic’s Circle Awards at NYC’s Spotlight on Sunday.
Maggie, 30, was recently asked how she got the Agent Provocateur ad campaign. She told UK’s Metro, “They asked me to do it and I said yes, but somehow I never put that together with the fact I’d have to stand around in my underwear getting my picture taken. The pictures are very tongue-in-cheek and have an irony about them, it’s not the same as doing a Victoria’s Secret ad. I felt like I was playing a character, someone who wasn’t me… I was looking at them with Peter, saying: ‘I don’t think I look like that, that underwear really is good!’ I couldn’t believe how it made me look. The whole thing was a pleasure to do. When they came out, though, I was a bit surprised. Somehow I hadn’t understood that there’d be all these pictures of me out there in my underwear. I did it as an art project.”
And will she be working with younger brother Jake again? “Maybe at some point,” Maggie said. “We don’t have any plans to do anything now.”

call me desperate but I rather have Katie than Maggie in the Dark Knight.
Poor Batman and poor Batman fans.
She is a great actress and I have a lot of respect for her. She’s had to make it on talent alone, because, not to be mean but, she isn’t terribly attractive.

Maggie is no talent. She has her director daddy and screenwriter mom. Her dad cast her in most of his Indie films but these days due to the strike Maggie said her daddy and mommy are struggling.

Oh come off it Maggie. You did the undies ad because you wanted the money. You don’t have any work lined up after the Batman movie. I bet you are desperate for more work (and money). Why do you resort to these involved non-explanations? At least now you can stay home and raise your kid. Your brother has got all the Hollywood success. You just need to live with that and not be envious. (Not saying that you are, but you might be).
Maggie has just done a lesbian short short with two or three other women. For an encore she will need to go into p*rn. She might get a job there. She can hope.
Her career seems pretty dead in the water. At one time she and her brother were more or less competitive. Now he is a star and she is not. I don’t think she even gets paid much for a picture if she can find one that wants her. I have to think she may be terribly envious of her brother, but who knows for sure? She seems ignored by fans.
