To Cliniqua and Raye:

I agree with you both regarding Vince Vaughn. I never did think the guy was funny. I do believe that he speaks very fast due to some nervousness of performance. The director of MAMS said that Vince’s performance during the movie was cut quite a bit because he would be to over-shadowing the plot. Doug, the director, thought Vince was so funny, so I question Doug’s idea what funny is. I thought that Vince’s character in the movie MAMS cut have been removed completely without harming the movie.

Peace

I meant his part “could have been removed “

03/09/05: Brad has returned home to Jen and the pair are in marriage counseling.
Source: News.com

******************************************

I dont think this is true at all! Brad was staying in several hotels around that time, and was negotiating to buy his Malibu house.

Brad was filming reshoots of Mams around that time with Angie. Aniston filed for divorce 03/25/05, why would they be in counselling 2 weeks before that, and that they have already separated since January 2005.

TGIF BAMPZS fans! Hope you all have great days!

Morning lady! Sorry I wasn’t being to clear. coal and I were talking about the GG and Oscar. I was referring to the Globes when I was talking about how Brad and Angie looked. I’m keeping hope out for the Oscars this year. Sorry for any confusion!

Great. Thanks Love that picture. What picture of B&A was used for People Magazine Year Book?

I guess this is no longer a Brad and Angie thread. All I see is VV and X and I don’t really care about them. Well it happens every time. Please give VV and X there own threads. I mean I REALLY don’t want to read about them. Love the Jolie Pitts.

For someone who has so much hate and vitriol against Jennifer Aniston, you sure spent A LOT of time getting your Jennifer Aniston/Brad Pitt marriage timeline straight. Thanks for being schizophrenic. Sometimes, it works for you. Except for the fact, no one is going to trust a la, la, la LOONY!

Live events make it harder to skip commercials. The writers strike contributes to the trend.
By Alana Semuels, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
January 11, 2008

The Super Bowl, airing on Fox on Feb. 3, is always a big event for advertisers, who start buying spots as early as March. For the 2008 game they went especially fast, said Neil Mulcahy, executive vice president of advertising sales for Fox. The network had only eight spots available at the beginning of November, a time of year when it typically has dozens left for sale.

The writers strike, which began Nov. 5, “could have been the final push” that spurred advertisers to buy early, Mulcahy said.

Prices are up too: The most-expensive 30-second spots sold for $3 million, people familiar with the situation said, up 15% from $2.6 million last year. Last year’s top prices were up just 4% from 2006.

Returning Super Bowl advertisers include General Motors Corp., Go Daddy Group Inc. and Anheuser-Busch Cos., with 10 spots for its Bud, Bud Light and other brands, according to Spotbowl.com, a website that tracks Super Bowl commercials, which are often as popular with the millions of viewers as the game itself.

“The audience is impossible to reach otherwise,” said Bob Parsons, chairman and chief executive of Go Daddy Group, whose GoDaddy.com registers Internet domain names.

The ads likely to draw attention this year will star both celebrities — Brad Pitt for Dell Inc., according to Spotbowl.com, and Derek Jeter for PepsiCo Inc.’s Gatorade — and nobodies, such as the band that wins Doritos’ Crash the Super Bowl Contest and gets its song aired during an ad break. (Music videos and audio clips are submitted and people vote online.)

Oscars: Will the Show Go On?
With the Golden Globes canceled and reduced to a mere press conference, the writers’ strike may also pull the rug out from under the industry’s most important — and most glamorous — night. Here are five scenarios for what happens next
ACADEMY AWARDS IN LIMBO If putting the kibosh on the Golden Globes put the hurt on NBC and made the world pay attention to the writers’ strike, imagine what stopping the Oscars would do?

By Lynette Rice

Let’s start with the good news: The guy who shampoos the red carpet for the Kodak Theatre might get the day off. For the rest of Hollywood, though, Feb. 24 could turn out to be the gloomiest Oscar night in Academy Awards history. Assuming it happens at all

Best films of 2007
1. “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford”
(directed by Andrew Dominik)

History is just stories, and Andrew Dominik refuses to simply retell old stories in “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford,” a masterpiece of mood and character. Dominik doesn’t simply present his titular characters — the larger-than-life James (Brad Pitt), the lower-than-dirt Ford (Casey Affleck) — and throw them into conflict. Instead, he focuses intently on the two, both as men and as myths-not who they were, but who they might have been and who the history books said they were. “The Assassination” is a slow waltz toward death and destiny, an epic character study contrasting a Jesse James crippled with paranoia and fatalism by his own reputation, and a Robert Ford, obsessed with the great outlaw, who seethes with insecurity, resentment and fear.

Brought to another level by Roger Deakins’ jaw-dropping photography and Nick Cave’s haunting, dreamlike score (high-pitched bells ring in the film, a precursor to the spectre of death that hangs over the film’s characters), “The Assassination” is fascinating in the way it puts its pieces in order — slowly, methodically — paying off with a final sequence that brings everything full-circle in sudden, stunning poignance.

This is not a shoot-em-up, and it has more on its mind than simply the killing of an American legend. When that scene finally comes, consider the way it plays out-not as an action sequence, not in a sudden eruption of violence, but with mournful calculation-as if the characters are certain they are simply acting out what has already been pre-determined. That the film goes on for another half-hour-its most important half-hour-is telling in itself: It is not a single act that is at issue, but the ultimate fates of two different men. This is Dominik’s second feature film, but it’s safe to say that few filmmakers would have had the guts to make this film in this way. “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” has been thrown under the bus by its studio — probably wary of its mainstream appeal — but the joke is on them: what they had was the best film of the year.
