Roseanne Barr Hates Oprah
Actress/comedian Roseanne Barr has made some wild accusations in her latest blog about talk show host Oprah Winfrey and Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. Here’s a summary of what she said (with spelling and grammar fixed):
– Barack is an empty suit selling “hope” in lieu of Truth
– Oprah helped to elect Arnold Schwarzenegger. I have no doubt that she voted her purse by doing this, as she is a large land owner in California, and that ilk fears Dems because they do not want to pay their “fair share” of Cali tax.
– Oprah has given us Dr. Phil. If that was not offensive enough to decent thinking people, now she brings us Obama. He has no ideas, no plan and nothing to add other than the cynical pacification of the masses with bedtime stories about hope.
– Oprah, you play the race card and the gender card too. You are a closeted republican and chose Barack because you do not like other women who actually stand for something to working American Women besides glamour, angels, Hollywood and dieting!
– It is historical that Oprah, beloved of women, chooses a flashy man with small credentials over a seasoned woman politician with 35 years of experience…and sells that to the female demographic who look to her for inspiration!
OUCH!!!!!

“The problem with the anti-abortionist is they think those who are pro-choice are those who want abortions. They don’t! They want choice!”
neil,
thank you for stating this. There is no interpretation, pro-choice is pro-choice…why do dissenters want to interpret and have their misinterpretations become “fact” that was never intended nor implied!
So now look at the silly women arguing something inane like infidelity instead of arguing policy.
Who cares about Hillary and her marriage, none of my business personally. I don’t like her because of her association with Bush and Co. I don’t trust her because she voted for Iraq. I don’t like her because she will be por-big business and not pro-hard working American.
OBAMA/EDWARDS 2008 for me.

Well, Roseanne is as ignorant as I thought she always was. This
from a woman who married TOM ARNOLD???!!!!. Obama has a fresh
take on the old school politics. Hillary is a manipulative, out to get em
fake. She voted for the Iraq war TWICE! When her numbers were
down, she went through a crying fit to show poor women how alike
them she is and to get sympathy! I did not believe those shameful
tears for a minute! In common with American women? Hillary has
nothing in common with most poor or middle class women besides a
physical commality of being female. She is a rich conniving political
***** who wants power. And she has always been filthy rich. Yeah, a
lot in common! Roseanne needs to check Hillary’s record a bit. So
isn’t Hillary playing the Gender card? Gouing after woman and
claiming how alike them she is? Obama has not once discussed his
race in thi race. Besides, Obama is BOTH black and White. His
mother was white so Roseanne you are wrong there too. He only
claims Black because that is how America sees him. His mother was
White and his step-father was Asian. He is multi-cultural and that is
wonderful. Roseanne izx just bitter that she is a has been who
America wrote off after her show ended and after her awful singing of
the anthem. She is not on the radar. Nobody cares about Rseanne
and she is bitter that Oprah is still relevant and successful. And
Roseanne, if you are such a feminist, why are you attacking another
woman for doing and exercising her American right to support her
candidate of choice???? Besides, she is living and working in Illinois.
Onama is and was her Senator so she probably knows his work
better. The Clintons are old school political machines that people are
tired of. Hillary is the xame thing dressed in different costumes. She
is fake. And I don’t buy this overnight new more compassionate
Hillary. Give me a break. SDo a woman has to be a crying whining
cow to be compassionate? Get yourself together Hillary and explain to
us why 17 polls were strangely wrong on this outcome. No wonder
Kerry just endorsed Obama. I am sick of Hillary and her fake tears
Besides, this is not a monarchy, just as we don’t need more Bushes
in the White House, we don’t need another Clinton eventhough Bill
did a good job. Time to make way for a fresher and more genuine
American president.

Team LaraCroft, kudos to you!
I just had to repost your post, and space it out so the bigotted, neanderthals on this thread can read it slowly and try to understand what youve said.
Its amazing how entrenched are such ailments as bigotry, racism and sexism in the minds of unevolved humans. These are EXACTLY some of the kinds of things that Obama is talking about when he talks about CHANGE and HOPE and our innate human ability to strive for and achieve something BETTER for ourselves, our family, our country.
Forget that pathetic has-been, roseanne; forget oprah. Look in the mirror and FACE your own fears. Imagine……….more than one person here on this thread have talked about not wanting a president with a name like BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA. Well, i think you all better get used to seeing it and saying it.
There is no doubt in my mind that Obama will be President of the United States of America. It is destiny unfolding.
Just think: he’s a symbol of hope for so many people around the world. Do you think its only americans who want peace and an end to the war in iraq? 150,000 iraqis dead. Do you think their life is less valuable than our own?
That america is able to elect a man with such a mixed heritage - a heritage encompassing different races and religions - and one who inspries so many people AROUND THE WORLD to reach for the seemingly impossible dream of UNITY among diverse peoples and HOPE for a better way of BEING and DOING, is sheer DESTINY at work.
The Universe is unfolding as it should. Get on board, if youre smart.

“What type of marriage do you have when you have one partner who cannot keep their vows?”
There are many different types of marriages and people marry for different reasons and they are all valid as long as the two parties involved are okay with it. There are also open marriages…not that I am saying the Clintons have one, which I do not think they do. Disrespect and respect come in different forms, it’s not just in the bedroom. I think Bill Clinton has tremendous respect for Hillary as a working partner, as a comrade in the political arena, as a mother and as a intelligent individual.
None of these are wrong, incorrect, bad nor does it come to the automatic conclusion that because Bill Clinton had affairs that they should get divorced. You are only a damned fool if you are in denial of your husbands affairs, you have no self respect if you do not confront him about it and ignore the problems involved.
It has little to do with “strength to walkaway from a bad situation…” being a President you cannot “walk away from a bad situation”…it’s about negotiation, facilitation and coming to mutual resolutions. In fact the stresses that the Clintons have undergone have put her in a position of strength and decision making for the better of the whole not for the self. As a nation, we are a whole.

This is an Obama supporter. Why would you even consider voting for him ??
re: 147amber @ 01/10/2008 at 4:26 pm
Hi amber,
It’s her choice and she’s the one who’s got to live with her decision in the end, not me”.
and that’s the premise of taking responsibility for your own choices and as you state “she’s the one who’s got to live with her decision in the end…” It is not our decision to judge or criticize why Hilliary stays married for whatever her reasons. that is why it is referred to as “choice” and that is feminism, in its simplest form.
Feminists do not hate men. They are for empowering women and if you do it right, you actually understand men more.
150 TiredofthisCrap @ 01/10/2008 at 4:37 pm
…Simple, she knows a divorce would ruin her chances at the Presidency, that is why she stays with him.
——-
You are probably right! Who knows. It’s still her her life, her business. We don’t have to live with him. She does.

ITAWU. I don’t know where people got the idea that feminism meant that all women had to think and act the same way or that they had to be man haters.

……….more than one person here on this thread have talked about not wanting a president with a name like BARRACK HUSSEIN OBAMA.

Really? Who?
Sorry, but her marital woes have everything to do with her political career. Her husband was almost impeached for his philandering and are we really ready for more of Bill Clinton public affairs? Didn’t his near impeachment cause the Republicans to win both the Senate and House during that mid-year elections? Whether you like it or not, it did affect the 2000 Presidential races. Those evangelicals could not seperate Gore from Clinton, no matter how hard he tried. They came out to vote in mass numbers and that is one of the reason why Gore lost. ( iknow Florida, but the race should not have came down to ONE state). They took states that should have been easy Democratic wins. So please don’t hand me that crap what the do in their marriage is their business, because in this case it is not true. What they do in their marriage affects all of us!
As far as her politics and policies are concerned, I would never vote for her because I see her as a weak link who only votes for what is popular. She could have easily made a stand against Iraq,. As many of you stated she was the First Lady with privvy to information that most of us don’t have and she knew damn well that Iraq did not have WMD. So what did she do, she stood and voted for a war that she knew was wrong. Iraq didn’t develop an arsenal that large in the three years since she left the office. She could have been vocal and pointed out the her and her constituents really needed the focus to be on capturing Osama Bin Laden. Her medical plan that she was developing the whole time never took off. There are so many things, but I’ll end it here.
I hate both too!

That tells us about those people. I hate to say it, but some people shouldn’t be allowed to vote. They’re too emotional.

How do you know that?

love your post Alex…say it loud and clear. Thanks
she is right
I could not have said it better myself. If i want a revival meeting, i would attend church, thank you very much. To me Barack is like the Democrats’ George Bush, meaning, i remember when the masses were jumping on the Bush bandwagon seven years ago saying that he looked like someone you would want to have a beer with. I am a black woman ( Caribbean) and i would not vote for Barack Obama.
And dont get me started on Oprah. Go Hilary!!
I lost respect for Oprah a LONG time ago. Her getting behind Obama just ads another reason not to vote for him. He has no experience. AND a man who refuses to salute the flag during the Pledge of Allegiance, will NEVER get my vote.

Or play in the stock market and screw it up for the logical, analytical ones. Love, love, love your post!
will you be my friend, LOL?
test
Ouch indeed! Although I strongly agree with some parts of point 4.
I’m a dual citizen of both Canada and France so I have no say in who gets to become President. The best that I can hope for is that he or she will be a vast improvement on George Bush. Whether Americans like it or not, your current president is not exactly a popular person outside the United States. Just about anyone from my view point would be better than him.
What I dont understand, and never have understood, is the American preoccupation with a candidates marriage , children-or lack of children. Nor do I understand the preoccupation with his/her religious beliefs. I was taught by mother and father that another person’s religous beliefs are private and none of my business. A president should be, and this is only the opinion of an outsider, elected solely on his/her track record and experience. Race , gender, religious beliefs and who his/her husband/wife is should not matter.
Our Prime Minister is Stephen Harper. I honestly cannot tell you the name of his wife, how many children he has, their names, or even if has had more than one wife. I cannot honestly tell what his religious beliefs are or are not, nor can I tell you what church he goes to,if at all. For myself and many others here in Canada those issues are simply not important. I did not vote for Harper based on who is wife and children are. I didnot vote for Harper based on how he does or does worship God. I voted for the man based on his stated policies, his track record, and his experience.
And i think the same will hold true for Sarkozy in France. My relatives find his lifestyle interesting and fun to watch. But at the end of day, it will be how he performs his duties as President of France that will determine if he gets re-elected. Not his romance and possible marriage to his current girl friend.
You all want a president that cracks under pressure for pete sakes she freakin cried because she was under alot of stress!! Ya, let’s vote for a faker!!!! Hillary your so full of crap like your husband (The one that didn’t inhale and the one that didn’t have sex with “That woman”!!! Rosanne go back to what you have been doing “NOTHING” because your a nobody!!
I usually can’t stand Rosanne, but i got to say..in my opinion, there’s a lot of truth in what she said about Oprah - especially about other women. Oprah does come across as wanting to be the only woman trying to make a ‘change’…wow there’s that word again.
I’m not a fan of Barrack - He’s got no experience - Hillary does.
You know what would be great?…If Ellen Degeneres Endorsed Hillary and make it a war of the daytime talk shows lol..
well put, CHE #23 - what a great post
Roseanne has posted some wacky ass stuff on her blog before, but more often than not, she’s right, she’s very insightful and this is no exception
