Newsweek got a little too inquisitive for American Idol alum Clay Aiken. Do you think the interviewer went a little too far? Here’s what went down during a recent sit-down:
How did you get into a fight with that lady on a plane? I’m not going to talk about it.
I was just curious because you’ve never talked about it. I did talk about it.
What about the Kelly Ripa thing? I’m not going to discuss it.
Did you think it was homophobic? I’m not going to discuss it.
What do you want to talk about? I think we’re done.
Can we talk about something fun? No, we’re done. I thought Newsweek would be more reputable. I’m surprised.
But I think people are curious about it. It was a year ago. This is Newsweek. It’s not the National Enquirer. I’d hate to have a job where I had to be rude to people.
I’ll change the subject. What do you do for fun? I watch the news. I read news magazines, but I’m reconsidering that now.

This guy is pathetic and so goofy looking…and his singing voice now sounds like a girl…i can’t stand hearing him sing like his last album i could not listen to it…to think that i was a fan of him in AI2 and even voted for him…he has lost what it takes to make it in the business, has a horrible womanly singing voice and screams when he sings…
Also he has shown no sophistication at all and dresses like a country mouse…sorry Clay.

Wow I’m really offended that JJ is allowing all these homophobic comments. If you want to be negative and down on Clay Aiken, than thats your business, but to call him gay slurs is unnecessary and wrong.
Oh, Lordy, wait until the old lady Claymates wake up from their sleep and see this. He’s such a press, though. Yes, he has a right to not answer certain questions, but he acts like he’s this huge celebrity or something. He’s C list.

I am wondering why Newsweek even bothered to interview him. He was very rude. He even insulted AI, the very institution who made him famous. Success surely went to his head. Poor miserable guy.

Newsweek didn’t go far enough. I’m sorry but WHO does Ms. Aiken think she is? The President. Prime Minister. The Pope. No, some freak who came in second on a crappy tv show and sold a lot of records through wal mart. His career is at an end, next up cruise ships.

Clay Aiken is stupid and irrelevant. That’s why Newsweek treated him like that. They wanted that reaction because the entire interview was a joke. They don’t give a crap about a lame D-Lister. No one does. But now they made the interview relevant enough to be talked about. If anyone thinks Clay taught them a lesson or something? Hahahahahaha! Yeah, right. He played right into their hands, and I’m sure the interviewer was holding back giggles the entire time.

I don’t think we got the entire interview. It doesn’t flow well. Looks to me like the so-called reporter snipped out a few lines to make a controversial story. Wasn’t this supposed to be an interview about Spamalot? So why bring up old news that, yes, has already been addressed several times? So what would you people do in this situation? It’s easy to post a bunch of snotty comments on a website, but speakng up in person requires courage. I have a great deal of respect for Clay.
