James McAvoy’s BAFTA Tea Party

James McAvoy and British actress wife Anne-Marie Duff attend the BAFTA/LA 2008 Awards Season Tea Party held on Saturday at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

McAvoy, 28, and Duff first met while filming Shameless, an offbeat British comedy drama television series. The couple celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary last October.

i remember when he was in “don’t tell mum the babysitter is dead” as the hotdog boyfriend of Christina Applegate’s character. He was dorky back then but in a cute way.

Yes, he’s married… I just have to face the hard reality and move on ^_^…

Anyways, James and his wife make a good-looking couple (I read she’s like 9 years his senior but there’s no age for love, right? I think she looks nice and little bit younger, what do you think?).

I really love him in Atonement. Hope he’ll make lots of movies in the future. I’m ambivalent with him being married and all, I like him to be happy with someone but I like that someone to be somewhat Keira Knightley.

james wasnt in dont tell mom, the actors name is josh charles…hes been in a couple of small supporting roles, they kinda of look alike i guess

I think he hates doing publicity and award shows. He always looks bored and annoyed. He actually does say he doesn’t like it in interviews. Although he looks kinda happy there. Maybe because his wife is with him this time. Anyways, congrats on Atonement winning Best Picture-Drama!!!!

I remember first seeing him in Children of Dune, then in Chronicles of Narnia. He’s such a wonderful actor. Hope to see him in many more films in the near future.

#2, Though the actors resemble each other a bit, it was Josh Charles that played that particular character in “Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead”.

Ah, they are adorable together! I’m so glad Atonement was recognized at the Golden Globes, it is truly an brilliant and hauting film and hands down the best of 2007.

I cannot believe he married his Shameless costar…I had no idea they were dating let alone married. Shameless is one of the funniest British series I’ve ever seen. It’s a fantastic show and I became a huge fan of James McAvoy because of that show. His wife was also brilliant as well.

He is so gorgeous! He was awesome with Kerry Washington, Keira Knightly and he will be with Angeline Jolie… I LOVE THIS MAN!!

I love James McAvoy. He was deliciously good in Becoming Jane and he’s just a wonderful actor with a grounded personality. Although I am sad he’s already married, and I hope he is happy - and as for marrying someone older, look at Hugh Jackman! Who also married someone from his early days TV series co-star, who’s quite a few years senior to him, but supremely happy! Fairytales do exist.

the bafta/ LA tea party???? sounds like sh-t. why do the brits want to be recognized over here so badly anyway? no other awards show has promo parties in the states. makes bafta look desperate…
this kid was good in atonement, KKnightley annoyed the hell out of me.

Oh, so glad to see people on the board that are literate, know what they are talking about, and understand movies! Oh yeah, they are BRITISH! LOL!!
Yes, James was fantastic in Atonement, and I, too, am surprised and a little silly-sad to see him married, but so happy for him to be happy! I agree, he is an artist so doesn’t like all the hoopla. He is so talented and I can’t wait to see more of him. He is so HOT in Atonement, too! Makes total sense he’d have a wife older than he is — women in their 20’s are not nearly as together as he is.

For the information of the ignorant person who didn’t understand why BAFTA would have a tea party in LA — there are lots of British stars here right now as the movies are in fast production because of the writers’ strike, and it’s award season here in LA. The world doesn’t end at the US borders, and movies are an art form that is not limited to the US.

I was so sad when he and Anne-Marie left Shameless. They were so cute in it together.

For some reason, I still see him as that little half-man, half- beast in that fairytale movie. Not classically handsome one bit (he’s got a big nose), but give him kudos on his acting.

James did amazing in Atonement, the movie its self was wonderfully written and i think that both actors did great, but James has done great in every role he has been put in, like Rory O’Shea where he was handicap was great he portrayed it well, and Last King Of Scotland well anyone who is acting so well as a passed out person and ACTUALLY passes out and no one knows b/c he always acts like his actually passed out is just a great actor. but all in all James is amazing and well i dont know his wife but as long as she makes James happy i guess
