She is the most overrated supermodel in history.. The media acts as if Heidi Klum, Kate Moss, and manface Gisele are the only top models working in the fashion industry. A lot of fashion icons like Gemma Ward or Daria Werbowy are unknowns to celebrity gossip followers. The real top models today need to get the recognition they deserve. i.e. Jessica Stam, Doutzen Kroes, Julia Stegner, Isabeli Fontana, Caroline Trentini, Angela Lindvall, Heather Marks, etc..

I have to agree with JUSTJAREDLURKER. I think she is extremely overrated. And, to be honest, I don’t think she’s all that pretty. Yes, she has a nice body, but her face is just not pleasing. Don’t get me wrong; I’m not one of those girls who hate on other girls. I think a lot of today’s supermodels (like the ones JUSTJAREDLURKER mentioned) are gorgeous. Giselle just isn’t one of them.

She is pretty. Unfortunately not a “symbolic” Brazilian beauty as she promotes herself to be. She is German. I have heard her grand-father was a Nazi officer. Google it. Scary but true.

Of course she looks great in the ads, but sorry in real life (even when she’s trying) she looks pretty bad and yes has a face that sometimes resembles a guy.

BORING. Nice body, killer legs, but her face…no. I don’t understand the fascination with her. She does absolutely nothing for me, and she never has.

Well, those who don’t like her face, that’s your opinion. But she’s considered a top model by designers who want her to show off their clothes well, by photographers who see EVERYONE in their before and after states, and by editors who have to choose from all the models mentioned to see what jumps off the page.

I’ve heard photographers tell the other Victoria’s Secret models to watch Gisele to learn positioning, breathing for how to hold odd positions that actually look good in photos, etc. She is a top model for so many reasons that the layman doesn’t always understand.

Go ahead and hate all you want. Others might have cuter faces, but it takes more than a cute face to be a top model.

I don’t get why people think she’s so beautiful she really isn’t, she has a huge nose and she’s way to full of her self

c’mon being beautiful isn’t enough to sell a product you have to give life to the pictures a guiselle knows how to work it! Go brazilians

She has the most incredible body I have ever seen. You can debate about her face, she has been simply the best for long years for a reason. There are more beautiful models out there who cannot even come close to what she has achieved in modeling.
Not a typical Brazilian? So what? One thing I always liked about her is how passionate Giselle is about her country and how proud she is to be Brazilian even though her family is originally from Germany. You cannot say the same about some up and coming pretty faces.

Yeah she was already famous in the fashion industry before she met Leo. But it was through him she made the headlines and became known to a wider audience.

Why is it necessary to mention Leo? She didn`t need his help to get where she is now ( not like Leo`s current flame). I admit she did get attention as being Leo`s girlfriend but I don`t think this was the reason why she became who she is now in modeling. I seriously don`t think that designers like Versace or D&G choose their models based on gossip magazines and headlines. She is in high fashion and it wasn`t Leo who taught her how to pose or how to sell a product. If it was only for Leo as #45 says, his current girlfriend would be a big shot just like Giselle and let`s be honest, she is not even close…

There are lots of girls who are “pretty”. Lots who even take a good photo. That is NOT modeling. You can be a cheap dirty movie star or stripper and do that. The idea of modeling is to SELL A PRODUCT and if you can do that, and do it well, then they will use you. She is TOPS.

And I find it so disconcerting that there are the kinds of people out there that say someone is better off with someone else simply because of how they look. Either you are a child and don’t know anything about friendships and relationships, or you are so shallow you never care about anyone but yourself or are a sociopath.
