OlderKatie Holmes: The GMA Interview
Katie Holmes dropped by Good Morning America this morning to talk about her family and upcoming film. Check out the interview video here or read up on some of the snippets from the GMA interview:
On her picture perfect wedding day: “I got ready and I was so excited. And I, you know, I looked at my dad, and said ‘Honestly, do I look OK? I mean, this is important to me.’ You know, he was really sweet. He said, ‘You look great.’ And the moment that the doors opened and I saw Tom, I was just locked in. I mean, it was so magical. It was perfect.”
On Suri growing up so fast: “Now she’s talking all the time. So she’s saying, ‘Who’s that? Who’s that?’ We were at FAO Schwartz last night (pictured left). We got in, running around, eating ice cream and playing with all of the toys. And Tom and I were playing with a lot of the toys ourselves. It’s fun for adults. You get carried away.”
On Suri’s characteristics: “She’s delightful. I mean, she’s very strong and bright. And she picks out some of her clothes, and she loves running around. She’s beautiful, very smart.”
On her costar Diane Keaton: “[I learned a] tremendous amount from her. “She’s obviously a great actress. I loved watching the way she prepared for scenes. She’s a genius. I mean, every take is different and perfect. And she’s also, you know, she just came out with her book and she’s a mother. She’s interested in so many things. What a life she’s had.”
On starring in Mad Money: “”I love, you know, working with a female director. A movie with all of these women. The three of us really got to know each other in the hair and makeup trailer. We had about 2½ hours every morning. We talked about movies, fashion, motherhood, designing. We listened to Queen Latifah’s new album ['The Sisterhood'].”
Mad Money opens in theaters nationwide this Friday, Jan. 18th.

Suri will be a knockout when she’s a lady. Katie is a timeless beauty.
I completely agree Dean….Katie is clearly so afraid of saying the wrong thing that she can barely put a coherent sentence together.

Hate the hair, and that was so boring. It’s funny how celebs are put on pedestals and they have absolutely nothing interesting to say and no charisma. As my grandma used to say, she probably has a trick hip.
I tried to like her in the interview, but she has nothing to say. It’s weird watching her talk.

I believe that. Tom is so jealous of other actors who are much better than him. Christian Bale is an excellent actor- and a married man with two kids! Katie wishes that Christian would give her “Bale sausage”. Tom doesn’t want Katie (or Kate) to know the passion of another man. He’s keeping her under his thumb.

i don’t remember her sounding so dull and superficial. her interview was nothing but adjectives and superlatives.
Although we have to grow up sometime, I miss the girl-next-door Katie who actually had substance and depth in her interviews before Tom came along…

Katie looks so thin and drained. What has happened to her? Is she over-exercising? She has lost her juiciness. Very sad. She sounds so dull, like she has nothing to say and is exhausted. The camera doesn’t lie. So sorry to see this.
It’s scary to hear Diane Sawyer laugh along with nothing, and talk about how carried away you get in toy stores. Diane Sawyer has sold out. She used to be an interesting news person herself. I don’t understand what happened to her either except fame and money. So what else is new? I guess that’s what they have in common. Doesn’t look very appetizing to me.
And, KH is as empty as the superlative expensive big bag she carried to the interview.
EVEN HER MIDGET DOESNT HAVE AN OSCAR AND EVEN KIRK DOUGLAS DIDNT GET ONE FOR ETERNITY HOW THE HECK THEN DOES THIS DUMB CHILD GET AN OSCAR AHAHHAHAH
Katie is so proud of Suri she is such a good mom to all three of the children a very nice family
YEEEEES all good mothers wear 5 inch stillettos in the rain while holding shopping bags and their baby, trip, drop baby, go back to hotel change into another pair of stillettos and carry baby up metal stairs in the pouring rain
all good mothers also take their toddlers out to a loud pop concert til all hours

I’m just going to tell it like I see it. I watched the GMA interview and I don’t mean to sound ugly, but she acts as though she has brain damage. Her facial expressions don’t match the words coming out of her mouth. She is struggling to come up with words period….forget the right words–it’s like she is drawing a total blank about everything.
