King of tween Zac Efron is featured on the January/February 2008 cover of Details Magazine. Interview highlights:
On the beach candid shots of him and girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens: “At that point it was inconceivable. I had no idea that anyone could ever care. That happens to, like, big stars. I woke up and my dad told me that I was in a newspaper on the beach—he made fun of me, he said I was ‘frollicking.’”
On the paparazzo who took the pictures of him shirtless and Vanessa in a bikini: “The photographer left me a note with a disc of all the pictures, and on the note it said, ‘Thanks for the Range Rover!’”
On his pissed off neighbors at his apartment complex: “It annoys my neighbors that the paparazzi take all the parking spots.”
On Seventeen being created as a star vehicle for him: “It’s weird but I don’t feel like I deserve any of the attention. There’s really nothing but one audition for a Disney Channel movie that separates me from 2,000 other brown-haired, blue-eyed guys in L.A., you know?”

Graduation, I like that. He can pass the crown down now to the
“Next Big Thing ” and maybe focus on more adult roles while still
mixing it up with musicals and whatever else he wants to do.
This man is talented and deserves a chance to show us what he’s
got. It really is wonderful to see this happening to a truly nice, humble
deserving person. Wonderful article and can’t wait to see his future

Nikki…I don’t know about you…but a lot of ‘Zanessa’ fans are fans of both Zac and Vanessa and most of us liked them individually before we even knew they were together.
If you look at a lot of the Vanessa threads…you will see several of the same people in Zac threads too. We like them both.
I for one can’t wait to see ‘Seventeen’ and Zac is said to be filming another movie before HSM3 called “Me and Orson Wells” or something close to that. I was also on a bunch of the Hairspray threads before the movie came out and was getting all the details on the movie as they leaked.
Just because people are mentioning Vanessa doesn’t mean anything. Zac does mention their vacation in Hawaii and his dad teasing him about the photos of them in the newspaper in the article. Obviously people were going to comment on it.

anyone have a link to any article where zac just sais that vanessa is his girlfriend? just curious. he always hints (and i know she is) but i was just wondering if he ever has said it in print/video

He said it in both Popstar and J-14 magazines. “Yes, we are a couple.” I’m sure you can find the scanned magazines on one of the Vanessa fan sites.
