Kate Bosworth shows off her superstar style in the February 2008 cover of Vogue. Interview snippets as always:
On her ex Orlando Bloom: “Orlando and I met when we were kids. Blue Crush hadn’t come out. Lord of the Rings hadn’t come out. … He was the first big heartbreak. … First love: You feel like it’s the be-all and end-all. … To put as little pressure on the relationship you’re in is very important. I regret that it was too intense for both of us.”
On still remaining friends with ex-boyfriends: “The fact that I’m very close with my past relationships is something I pride myself on. My mom is still close to her first husband. It’s nice to be able to enjoy someone in a different form.”
On losing 12 pounds from stress: “Whenever anything happens that’s very painful or stressful, we all lose weight — my mother, my aunt, my grandmother. … I honestly thought something was wrong with me. … I was concerned for my health and my fans, the public. I would have said, don’t look at this as the standard of some kind of beauty and health. [It was] a very dark time in my life.”
On meeting model/musician boyfriend James Rousseau at a Marc Jacobs after-party: “I looked like a mess. I always ask him why he didn’t turn and walk away. He had no idea who I was. He said, ‘You’re an actress? You’re not Kate Hudson, are you?’ For a little while there he called me ‘Miss Hudson’ as a joke. [Afterward] we left and sang Dylan songs at Maggie’s Pub. Sitting on a bar stool, having a beer. He saw the potential. He wanted to fix me in a little way. And to be quite honest, he did. He was such a ray of light in my life.”
Kate, 25, has a new film coming out on called 21 (Jim Sturgess, Kevin Spacey, Laurence Fishburne). It’s about a blackjack team made up of six MIT students, who train to become experts in card counting and subsequently take Vegas casinos for millions in winnings. Release date: March 28th.

She didn’t say it was a family illness but that everyone in the family reacts the same way-by losing weight-when under stress. Her stress was the breakup.
Didn’t they really break up in the summer but it wasn’t made public until September? Probably so they could both be seen with their new so’s finally.
I agree with you on the kid part. Orlando recently referred to himself as a kid as well and he was 30 when he said it. I think Hollyweird supports arrested development. Most people consider themselves well into adulthood by their mid-twenties or at least they don’t call themselves kids still.

She told people magazine the reason for her weight loss was because she was suffering from a Virus. I guess all the excuses she’s making up sounds better than the truth which is that she was snorting too much COKE.
Well…that’s one version of the story, isn’t it? The smutty version would be that she allegedly had a voracious appetite for blow. But Kate is so pretty and the heartbreak diet is so much easier to believe and no one in Hollywood does cocaine anymore, right?

Anyone else remember those pap pictures in Paris (I think) soon after the breakup announcement; Kate and James were caught in a limo partying it up with Lohan and some others? All red eyes and sniffly nostrils, giggling it up? Lainey’s entry just reminded me of those.
Oh, but that’s right. All those rumours about she and Orlando being big users were all lies. They were into “clean living”. And it’s not like we’ve ever seen Orlando hopped up and strung out… right?
But, none the less, both of them are models now, selling jeans and hairgel and cheap cars. Probably just the way it should have always been. No “thespian” silliness.

I’m always amused by those Kate haters who swear up and down that she had a problem but won’t even consider that the person she spent the most time with would ever touch the stuff.

#58 I’m an Orlando fan and even I can admit that he was high that night. Dazed from the accident my A$$. The police didn’t check him on the scene and I don’t buy that they did it at the hospital. Orland was spaced the f$ck out that night. I’ve seen him spaced out other nights too.

I think what happens is all of the minute details of life that us regular folk must deal with is magically gone from their lives. Dealing with the minutia is what creates responsibility. When you don’t deal with it there are consequences, and that makes us learn. They have all of these people around them to take care of things. To worry about their schedules, travel plans, paying the bills, etc. They have People for that. They want something done all they have to do is tell one of their people and it happens. Almost like a child. And since all of these people work for them, it is not like a mother or father who want to help their child grow up and take care of themselves. For if these children become capable on their own, they won’t need the sycophants that surround them. Both of these people achieved this state very young, so it seems as though their maturity level has been stunted at that age. Very sad for them, really. Maybe that is why marriages out in celebrity land don’t last. They don’t have the necessary maturity to deal with a grownup relationship.
I wonder if Sonia has been reading all the latest on her son the last couple of months. Didn’t Orlando say that his mom is online constantly and reads everything?

It’s a bit funny how some people can look at that cover and say she’s ugly. Unless you’re the goddess of prefection yourself, you REALLY should not be saying anything.
And about the timeline….I don’t think she’s lying. She DID meet James at the Marc Jacobs fashion show. There were pictures of her lending him a cig light. And NO, the two did NOT meet at the lotr premiere. They met before t when they were bothing waiting for their parking valet, according to Orlando on Regis and Kelly.
Not everyone believes the story of Orlando or Kate cheating. THat’s just a bunch of bull made up by people on both sides, in hopes to make the other look bad.

Yes, I think Sonia reads the boards just to find out what her son is really up to. I think Orli’s father does, too –notice how he came running over here to see his son after the accident in Hollywood.

I believe that Orlando was attracted to Kirsten Dunst, who was breaking up with Jake. Kate was so upset that she began losing weight.
