OlderTom Cruise Scientology Video Outbreak
Here’s a peek into Tom Cruise and his beliefs in Scientology via Gawker. You must watch the video below–it’s definitely making the rounds in the blogosphere.
Basically, Tom goes off on how dedicated he is to being a Scientologist and how he will “not hesitate to put [his] ethics in someone else!” Here are some of the highlights via Us Weekly:
“I think it’s a privilege to call yourself a Scientologist, and it’s something that you have to earn because a Scientologist does… has the ability to create new and better realities and improve conditions. Being a Scientologist, you look at someone and know absolutely that you can help them.
“Being a Scientologist, when you drive past an accident… you know you have to do something about it because you know you’re the only one that can really help.
“But that’s what drives me… I know that we have an opportunity to really help… effectively change people’s lives and I am dedicated to that. I am absolutely, uncompromisingly dedicated to that.
“We have a responsibility.
“We are the authorities on getting people off drugs, we are the authorities on the mind, we are the authorities on improving conditions… we can rehabilitate criminals.
“…We can bring peace and unite cultures…
“Traveling the world and meeting the people that I’ve met, talking with these leaders in various fields, they want help and they are depending on people who know and who can be effective and do it and that’s us. That is our responsibility to do that.
“It is the time now. Now is the time… Being a Scientologist, people are turning to you, so you better know it, you better know it and if you don’t, go and learn it, but don’t pretend you know it. It’s like we’re here to help.
“If you’re a Scientologist, you see life, you see things the way they are, in all its glory, all of its complexity and the more you know as a Scientologist, you don’t become overwhelmed by it.
“Look, I wish the world was a different place. I’d like to go on vacation and go and romp and play and just do that, you know what I mean. That’s what I want it to be. There’s times I’d like to do that, but I can’t because I know I have to do something about it.
“I have to do it because I can’t live with myself if I don’t, and that really is it.
“So it’s our responsibility to educate, create the new reality. We have that responsibility to say, ‘Hey, this is the way it should be done because we do it this way and people are actually getting better.’
“And let’s get it done. Let’s really get it done and have enough love and compassion and toughness that you’re really going to do it and do it right.
“I have to tell you something – it is rough and tumble, and it’s wild and wooly, and it’s a blast, it’s a blast, it really is fun because, dammit, there is nothing better than the going out there and fighting the fight and suddenly you see things are better.
“I want to know that I’ve done everything I could everyday, and I think about those people out there who are depending on us. I think about that and it does make me feel that we’ve got more work. I need more help, get those spectators either in the playing field or out of the arena. Really, that’s how I feel about it.
“I do what I can, and I do it the way I do everything. [laughs] There’s nothing part-of-the way for me.”

I don’t care TC is a scientologist and he believes his religion is the absolute best. Doesnot everyone think so about their own religion? I mean I live in an apartment complex in NYC and everyday some christian is at my door trying to convert me and telling me Christ’s blood cures it all or whatever !! I meanWTF!!! It may be normal for them ,but it creeps me out too.

jmo………TOO FUNNY!!!! You’re right. He’s doing this to himself. How come we don’t see John T. acting this way? Something is just not right. I think Tom does indeed want to head up this cult. It seems like a ‘power’ thing, but then again, most short men have ‘power’ issues.
That’s all cute and everything but Scientology is a cult and created by a science fiction writer. To deny or ignore this is denying reality.
You can adore this organization all you want but don’t deny what is.
I feel bad for him because the way he’s talking he thinks if you took Scientology away from him, he would be nothing. How sad.

Oh, I take back that ’short man’ comment a little. I should have said, “Some short men”, ’cause my Dad was short and he didn’t have ‘power’ issues.
One last point…he should have stayed in the seminary….It seems like TC has been searching for something to belong to all his life. He was studying to be a priest so you can see that when he learned about this “something else” that might fullfill him, he brought the same amount of dedication used to study scripture, to the Scientology table. He would have made a good preacher, pastor, priest or monk.

If there is nothing odd or weird about this video, then why is it being pulled from every website. The cult doesn’t want more people to see this. If they were proud of it, they wouldn’t be trying to hide it.

This is really old. I think since he was on Larry King promoting “The Last Samurai”. He probably even had Pat Kingsley as his PR. Nobody found it strange then and there were a very limited numbers of papers commenting on the interview as being wierd. Now, that is the ” Tom Cruise is crazy” trend, everyone is following and everyone thinks this is strange and Gawker acts as if they discovered America.It’s an old interview, it’s not something new, it’s not hidden, it has been for everyone to hear it before, if they were interested. Gawker just remembered it has happened, they extracted the controversial parts about Scientology, and now ignorance of others allows them to present it as something exclusive.
I wonder why nobody or very few dared to say Tom Cruise was wierd at the time, when he was still very popular, before the couch jumping incident and everything that came afterwards. Oh, wait there was no trend at the time for everyone to follow.

This is a cult center video actually..they are the ones that are specialized in cutting and editing..so I surmise that if there are cuts and edits they did it to make cruise look good as opposed to what they did to sweeney, but unfortunately for the cult PR they always make teh mistake of thinking the non-brainwashed tink like them, they need to hire non-scinetologist to recruit new people..because their nut job jargon clearly does not speak to us normal folks…

it is great that he and his people will help others, I believe they do, but I think it is arrogant to think they are any sort of authorities. If being a scientology means authority, then why would people go to school, university, college, read actual science journal and do logical scientific experiement to earn a degree and be called doctor or professor?! Education does not mean everything, but sure arrogance drive people away. So, do us a favor and stop talking, go back to school! Being an actor with load of money does not buy you respect and/or authority. Just give it a rest.
I respect anyone’s choice in the religion they choose. However, I do believe that Tom is on the Scientology recruiting team. This goes for any religion (in my opinion)–if you believe so strongly in your religion then there is no need to try to recruit anyone, they will come to you.
That being said and based on Tom’s belief that he and other Scientologists can really help someone, why don’t they help Britney Spears?
He states…

I guess my question to Tom would be…What makes them the authority? And if they are the authority, why haven’t those changes been made?
He needs to be careful about what he states and how he states it because he will be held accountable. I guess he still hasn’t learned that lesson.
