if you don’t it will cause serious health problems and you will get sick and most apendecidis cases REQUIRE surgery.

Sorry to hear Zac had to have his appendix out. I had mine removed when I was 22. The first two days are painful once the anesthesia wears off but after that it gets better everyday. Hoping for a speedy recovery. I’m sure Vanessa and his parents are there with him.

unless he has or had complications he should only have a 1 night stay after surgery and we will hope there are no complications — that’s the “norm” in my community….the surgery is usually done with a laser and a minimal incision…..let’s hope so!! While all surgery has it’s dangers, generally an appendectomy is not the major surgery it used to be. The recovery though has to be taken seriously….he needs to take care of himself when he gets home but I BET there will be someone there to watch over him — probably his Mom and maybe V too !!

the reason he went to the hospital is because he’s 3 weeks pregnant with his boyfriends baby.

JJ I must say I am disappointed that you made mention of HSM 3 in your post (a movie that, as you reported yesterday, isn’t supposed to begin filming until spring) and yet there is no mention of the movie he is currently filming, Seventeen and how it might be affected. Not that any disruption to the Seventeen shooting schedule matters, the important thing is that Zac starts to feel better soon and gets on the road to recovery. I hope he can spend the coming days in peace recovering with his Mom and family by his side. Feel better, Zac.

appendicitis is a big deal, whether its common or not. cancer is kinda common, and its a big deal. just because something happens to many people doesnt mean its not a big deal. anything that involves surgery and removing something from your body and anesthesia is pretty major. surgery on its own is dangerous, as well as anesthesia and the recovery process. and untreated, appendicitis can kill you. its not like he lost a tooth or anything, he got and hospitalized. and theres nothing wrong with people wishing for him to get better.

when i went to hospital for mine, they called it an emergency appendectomy and they didnt even ultrasound i went straight into the surgery becasue it was so close to bursting it hurt like hell. i actually remember wishing i would die before i went into the room. and the nexty day you feel like **** as well

Oh no!! Poor Zac! I got such a fright when I saw “Zac Efron: HOSPITALIZED” thank goodness it was just appendicitis. I’m a nurse so I’ve worked with patients who have undergone appendectomys. He’ll be in a lot of pain for a day or two. TAKE IT EASY ZAC!!! You work too hard! You need lots of R&R and oodles of TLC. Steph, ya great to be back in my own home and do whatever I wanna do.
Fell sick on new yr’s eve and was flat on my back on NY day, sneezing, coughing, fever and a very bad throat. Apart from that it was ok, glad to see my mom. . Had only seen her abt 4 mths before, but somehow, she looked older. I guess an op even though it was only a catarract does age you faster.

yes, definitely boji. Is she recovering well? This cold is just kicking my bum… but i have so much work to do I haven’t called in sick. Thank God I have a 3 day weekend coming up..not exactly working on Sat for a few hours.

You’re right though, I double up on my Vit C when I’m down for the count.

Boji & Katrina - your appendix is a small structure in your abdomen that is attached to your cecum, where your small and large intestines meet. It looks a bit like a little tube thats about 10cm long. It has no function whatsoever. Appendicitis is when it becomes inflamed and infected. It’s quite common and it’s much more common in males than females. As it serves no purpose having it removed doesn’t affect you in any way. However if it is inflamed and you don’t have it removed it will usually burst and you can quickly turn septic and die.

*hugs* for the boy wonder. I hope he’s recovering well..post op is a biotch and le appendix pain is none too pretty but with all the love being sent his way I’m sure he’ll be back on his feet soon. If fangirl love were medicine he’d have the healing power of Wolverine ;)
