Ellen Pompeo’s Night of Diamonds

Ellen Pompeo (in Chanel) and music exec husband Chris Ivery attends Chanel’s Nuits de Diamants (Night of Diamonds) at the Plaza Hotel Grand Ballroom in New York City on Wednesday.

Good thing she made it onto the plane back in Los Angeles!

The fashion house’s fine jewelry division hosted the private dinner to honor the U.S. debut of 20 one-of-a-kind pieces from the Chanel archives and the Vendôme Collection.

The black-and-white affair held homage to Chanel’s signature colors, reviving the golden age of the Plaza when Truman Capote hosted his legendary Black and White Ball in 1966.

I understand she’s trying to dress the part of “Chanel” but that look does not work for her. Plus, no matter what you wear that is Chanel, I’m sure Karl Lagerfeld did not intend for that top and that skirt to go together.

It is b/c he is a convicted drug dealer. All those drugs take a toll on the looks.It is reported as true. You can look it up. He is also a credit card theif.

You know, that dress IS Chanel — Fashion House founder Coco Chanel would have worn something in that style. It’s got the “feel” of old style late 20’s early 30’s.

Whether it works hyere… I don’t think so. On the other hand, I love the gloves and earrings. Maybe even the shoes… or boots… if I could see them better.
