Angelina Jolie and Oscar - Perfect Together
Newsweek has put together its 2008 Oscar roundtable including Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Daniel Day-Lewis, Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard and James McAvoy.
Angie on A Mighty Heart:
“I was comfortable when Mariane [Pearl] was comfortable. But I wasn’t so comfortable the first day of shooting, when I realized his style was so unbelievably raw. There is often no rehearsal, no one saying “cut.” For example, you have three different rooms, and we would go into one room and we’d be talking, say our five lines, and he’d film us. Then I’d go pee, and I’d come out, and the camera was still on. So I’d think, “OK …” Then I’d say my five lines again, and that would turn into 10 more minutes of talking, and then someone would go get something from the kitchen and I’d go to my bedroom, and he’d follow me and he just wouldn’t leave. It was really odd. But it became just the most perfect way to shoot that film. It was chaos in that moment. It was very intimate, and my big fear was that something horrible might happen and the camera would be like this. [She gestures as though there's a camera right in her face] But everybody was absolutely connected in every single moment. Even when we’d have lunch, we’d have it together at the table, or we’d all go for a walk together. We were just always present in the film. And so as an actor it brought me back to loving acting, and that was just great. But he does cross a line. One day one of the girls got sick and threw up, and he said, “Next time, tell us.” So he can be a little crazy. But I absolutely adore him.”

yes, he was.
# 31 Besane @ 01/18/2008 at 9:07 pm Angie is an artist, actor’s actor. Oscars and GG are almost like lottery, so just being nominated is already a win. Angie is already an Oscar winner when she was just in her 20s. She has a long, healthy, and prestigious career ahead. Now she is even stronger with her life partner at her side, and big, wonderful family who love and support her. Congrats Angie for your wonderful work and please do continue your art for us fans and your peers!

I agree 100% with you. There is no pressure for AJ to win a second Oscar. And I do hope she continues to do films for a long, long time.
“He brought it up to praise B&A”. - Of course he did…. because Angie can’t answer a question herself. GMAFB
Yo guli! Great to see you posting. I am on a lurk mode today but I can’t resist saying my regular “hello” to you. It seemed that the haters & trolls/fanistons are out to get you again. Maybe they are just jealous that we consider you the our mayor.
guli i say off with his head, the PHONY!
It should be call GC’s round table! I just love Angie so much! I am happy for her to be nominated. She deserves it! In this setting she seems shy. George and James dominated to roundtable.
Abthony hopkins describe Angie as a shy person I don’t think she like attention so much
Angelina’s performance is strong enough to get nominated but not to win IMO. But that should be OK because Angelina has already won an Oscar and this nomination, if she gets it, is testament to her acting abilities. There’ s no pressure to win. There are better and stronger roles coming up in her future. she should win for that. But get this all you haters….she is the only American actress that’s been nominated for Best Actress. That’s right, there’s no one else who did better than Angelina did in 2007. Represent!
=====================
Another post that I totally agree with. I didn’t notice that she has been the only American actress nominated for Best Actress this year, until you brought it up. Wow, what an accomplishment.
It never fails, they always mention Brad or Angie if one of them is doing an interview!
LOVE YOU ANGIE!!!!

Well, if she brought up the Pakistan tour de force up, it would sound like bragging. A compliment is one when another person says it about you, instead of you praising yourself.
it was a good roundtable atleast we get to see Angie…

Thanks for the link…Watching the newsweek footage again. I am so DDL voice is so seductive. JM is such a cutie. GC is a jokster. I agree with those that stated that EP is so mature for her age and so articulate. Marion Cotillard is so sweet too. I am glad for the footage. Good night all…
OMG—Konnitiwa is back!!! Lady I have given so many shout outs to you………. I am so glad you are back, please keep on posting, we all miss you here…How are you? Hey, it really is so nice to see you post again. Love you :-)
Definitely Oscar-worthy performance! :D I hope she wins but even if she doesn’t, I’ll love her just the same and it won’t change the FACT that she’s an amazing actress.
guli, I am lurking most of the time. Got no time to respond to the haters. But I will ready to retire to bed soon. Been a hectic week for me though. Ellen Page was at the movie X-Men III. She’s been acting in Canadian movies for a while now. This is her Hollywood Breakthough performance. She got that tomboy attitude but very mature too. I read that Marion Cotillard admired Angelina. They even discussed Angelina love of Cote d’Azur.
guli, I will try to be back tomorrow. Friends invited me for a dinner & have to bring desserts. I am thinking of cheesecake or maybe a merengue.
Take care my cyber friend & have a pleasant weekend!

hmmmm, lets not count our chickens before they hatch. Angelina hasn’t been nominated for an oscar yet though I certainly hope she will be.
TO BAD THEY DIDN’T HAVE BETTER MODERATORS FOR THE NEWSWEEK ROUNDTABLE. THE IDIOTS ON HAND WERE AN INSULT TO THE TALENT AT THE TABLE.
IF THE “SO-CALLED” MODERATORS DIDN’T BEHAVE LIKE GROUPIES THE INTERVIEW COULD HAVE BEEN VERY WELL ROUNDED.
AT ONE POINT, IT FELT LIKE GEORGE & JOHN WERE THE ONLY TWO ACTORS AT THE TABLE?!? YOU KNOW YOU’VE LOST CONTROL WHEN THE ACTORS TAKE OVER AND START INTERVIEWING EACH OTHER.
NEXT YEAR THEY NEED TO GIVE THE JOB TO THE TOP FILM CRTICS OR ENTERTAINMENT JOURNALISTS. HECK, THE GUY FROM THE ACTORS STUDIO WOULD HAVE BEEN AN EXCELLENT CHOICE.
Thank JJ;)
i just finished watching the round table video. let me say this first: i love james McAvoy accent!!.
george talked a lot, and he was funny, Angie didn´t talk much but she was great, daniel day-lewis is an interesting person but he didn´t talk much.
ariel—can you please check jjb , tonight or tomorrow. Goodnight ariel, I am so glad you are feeling better…
Mondo Bongo–I don’t know what you did, but my flamingo loves you and can’t stop talking about you,,,,Thank you my dearest cyber sister, you really hit a coard with her… Many thanks ((hugs))
OK, who is still awake (no not you trolls) JP fans??? I have to say good night with a wonderful video made by my dear friend axio99….
