Angelina Jolie and Oscar - Perfect Together
Newsweek has put together its 2008 Oscar roundtable including Angelina Jolie, George Clooney, Daniel Day-Lewis, Ellen Page, Marion Cotillard and James McAvoy.
Angie on A Mighty Heart:
“I was comfortable when Mariane [Pearl] was comfortable. But I wasn’t so comfortable the first day of shooting, when I realized his style was so unbelievably raw. There is often no rehearsal, no one saying “cut.” For example, you have three different rooms, and we would go into one room and we’d be talking, say our five lines, and he’d film us. Then I’d go pee, and I’d come out, and the camera was still on. So I’d think, “OK …” Then I’d say my five lines again, and that would turn into 10 more minutes of talking, and then someone would go get something from the kitchen and I’d go to my bedroom, and he’d follow me and he just wouldn’t leave. It was really odd. But it became just the most perfect way to shoot that film. It was chaos in that moment. It was very intimate, and my big fear was that something horrible might happen and the camera would be like this. [She gestures as though there’s a camera right in her face] But everybody was absolutely connected in every single moment. Even when we’d have lunch, we’d have it together at the table, or we’d all go for a walk together. We were just always present in the film. And so as an actor it brought me back to loving acting, and that was just great. But he does cross a line. One day one of the girls got sick and threw up, and he said, “Next time, tell us.” So he can be a little crazy. But I absolutely adore him.”

with all respect for all her fans and for herself but she don’t deserve an oscar nom!she did a good job in this movie but not great to deserve a nomination. she film is poor and her performance was better than many films she did but SHE DOESN’T DESERVE TO BE NAMINATED! for example Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman or Jodie Foster did better jobs in their movies….
this is just my opinion
first i want to say this woman is gorgeous but she isn’t a great actress. Face it guys! she will never achieve the level of the actor actress present in this conversation…she just don’t. i don’t think also she is get a not, but let’s see…
kn, why does it scare you that Angelina and Brad want and *WILL HAVE* BIOLOGICAL children as well?? Brad’s rep did NOT deny that Angelina is pregnant. She apparently denied KNOWING personally if Angelina was pregnant. That is NOT the same thing as DENYING the existence of a pregnancy, which Cyndi has done before. ask your hater self why she would have a problem doing that now?
That’s right. ANGELINA IS PREGNANT. Just an FYI for ya hater! Hahahaha
News bulletin: The rep saying she didn’t have personal knowledge is THE EXACT SAME THING she said when Shiloh was on the way. Hahahahaha! So suck it!
That aside, what IS a known fact, are this couple’s stated plans to expand their family both biologically and otherwise. It has been discussed often in the press.
They had Shi in 2006, and adopted in 2007, they want a bio in 2008. Get used to it.
That baby (babies) are coming whether you hater fanistons want it or not.
Da*mn, just grow up - it’s been 3 years - Brad is GONE and a GONER, and he has been since he first met Angie. Let alone 3 years and 4 kids later!!
You do realize you just show yourself for a hater troll when you post your own jealous fears and insecurities don’t you?
Boy the trolls are busy tonight - first stealing names of regulars, and now having conversations with themselves (see ‘kn,’ see ‘why’).
…and to the troll names ‘why,’ ….just so you’ll know….couples that exhibit something wrong, don’t hump in cars, rub booties, giggle, cuddle, squeeze, share chairs, caress, kiss, makeout and constantly state they plan on 10 kids and growing old together every chance they get….
….you hater trolls are ridiclous. Here you have the most loved up romantic happy couple in HW — and yet you keep obsessing over the status of their union (of ALL people), and praying for the demise of it - LOL! Ironic, that in the meantime your ugly TV sit-com hack has been dumped 3 times, and dozens of high profile celeb relationships have gone bust..
….yet here you are stalking Brad & Angie, and drooling with envy….wishing the hell that is your own life on them…
….hilarious.
brad rep said no, but also said as far as i know, which means she is not sure, so angie can be pregnant or not-all smart women do not annouce a pregnancy until the second trimester, so we shall have to wait until march to no for sure-i hope se is pregnant-peace
Shes so pretty
I Love her so much
i totally agree with nr 181.
we all agree Angelina is a great person, beautiful woman and a great mother. but these are differnt from being a good actress.people should distinguish things! i was expecting too much about Angelina is this movie, but i totally disappointed. She is ok, but not fantastic to get a nod.it wouldn’t be fair if she gets it. it’s imple guys! she isn’t good at all to deserve it. she reminds me a lot Gwyneth Paltrow…
my god this troll has change it names five times in the last five minutes,lol-all of a sudden all these new posters are popping up-angie really have you maniston freaks afraid of her success and having brad’s children-its a joy to see-lol
Tom, you’re an idiot. It’s a well-known face that not only is Angelina already the recipient of an Oscar, 3 Golden Globes, 2 SAG awards and inumerable critics awards - but for her performance in this year’s AMH she has received her greatest acclaim EVER…practically every film review mentioned Oscar, and touted her exemplary skills and ability - much as the legendary film critic, the late Pauline Kael did when she likened Angelina Jolie to Brando (amazing skill, talent, charisma, magnetic sensuality and ability)…among her peers it’s a given that Angelina is an actor’s actor.
Now take your ritzy-ish azz on, and stop confusing Angelina with your no-talent TV sit-com hack who needed an entire decade before she beat out Patricia Heaton from Everybody Loves Raymond to win one emmy - and even THEN, she only got it because she dragged Brad Pitt to her cheesey TV award shows (everyone knew it was just a ‘thank you,’ from TV producers for making their Emmy show and the other cheesetastic shows more watchable by having Brad on the re carpet…hahahahahaha!!)
Angelina is a LEGEND tom, sorry your TV hack has been reduced to doing her enabler’s syndicated TV show on cable…but don’t take your anger and DELUSIONS out on Angelina JUST because Maniston is a no-talent JOKE.
Later!

2 back to back trolls with the exact same bad grammar? I do not think so.
the trolls are really losing it over this newsweek roundtable, maniston will never be on one-lol
ntt @ 12:45 am, welcome back from your vacation, and Happy New Year. You were missed. I am like three pages back, and it is quite late so i am not even sure if you are still on, but i just wanted to comment on GC at the round table, and his behaviour when a question was posed to Angie, re her and Brad using the media’s interest in them to focus on places that need focusing on.
He should have allowed her to answer, and then if he wanted to, he could have then elaborated on anything she may have omitted. I personally thought he was being a little rude there. Probably not intentionally, but out of order nonetheless.
With that saying he can be quite charming.
James McAvoy was funny but gets the Brad Pitt slot from last year. The only one present at the Oscar round table but no Oscar nom.
Why the hell is brad never in for the Oscar run?
Come on now———-George Clooney “loony” ??
Angelina has a really nice voice…..very soothing, sweet and sexy.
I just love her.
“hottest couple ever”, i so agree with you, and she is very articulate.
What i like most about her, (other than her generous heart) is the way she speaks with her hands. She is sexy and mysterious, and most of all sensuous . I adore her. I dont think Brad knew what hit him when he met. Probably still doesn’t. lol
there are two people
1.who reads tabloid = gossip lover
2.who does not]
there is two people who reads tabloid
1. who believes it = idiot
2. who does not
there is two people who does not believe tabloid
1.who tells its unworthy story to others = aimless life
2.who does not
this was filmed a day before the golden globes - and who the hell dus GC think he is by saying that no one will attend any awards shows
GC is also sitting round a table with respected actors and an audience and all he can do is swear - great manners GC

On a saturday? Where does it say when it was recorded?
Why the incessant need for Angelina to be this great actress?
She is merely a good actress, like many working their craft. And like some hits her share of home runs. Like the film or not, ‘A Mighty Heart’ is a home run. But puttng that aside, if she wins, great, if she doesn’t, no big deal. I don’t need Angie to be this ‘great actor’; I’m fine with her ’sum being greater than the parts’. Her greatest role is the one where she plays Angelina Jolie; a home run!
20# totally agree but they were funny
This was Cindy’s comment when Angelina was pregnant in Dec ‘05.

Us Weekly also notes that Cindy Guagenti, Brad’s rep, would not deny the puffy lipped vixen was preggers instead saying:
“I’m not commenting on Brad’s personal life.”

You don’t give up, do you?:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: Man, you are pathetic…
Newsweek: Angelina, you’ve hit upon a strategy of dragging the press with you somewhere important, like Africa. Like, “If they’re going to follow me, I might as well go where I want people to see what’s happening.”
Clooney: She’s been really good about it. [To Jolie] When you guys showed up in Pakistan after the earthquake, at a point when our government, had they taken that moment to step in, could have actually made a huge difference in the area, you and Brad were the only people that were really showing up there. I remember specifically watching and thinking, “That is such a great use of people following you with a camera.” They have done it a bunch of times.
jolie: They [the Pakistani media] didn’t know we were there at first. We turned on the TV when we got back home and there was a picture of us unloading our gear. It said, “Aid workers have arrived.” [Laughter]
Day-Lewis: It is so important to work the way you need to work, and you have probably found a way that works for you. Angelina, what you had to do in “A Mighty Heart” is a very, very particular thing—to have that responsibility of trying to play the part of a woman who you obviously got to know very well during that time. What was your experience of leaving that film?
Jolie: I was thinking about that when you were talking about letting go of a character. I looked face to face at the person I had been playing. And I continue to see her. Our kids still play together. So it was very odd. But she’s just the most wonderful woman, and there was some kind of kinship that I felt with her. I really truly love her, and I can say that because I do know her. That actually made me terribly nervous. It was the first film where I didn’t sleep the night before we started shooting. That night, she and her son came by to say hello to everybody, to say good luck before they left. Adam talked about his dad, and I realized that when this little boy grows up, this whole film–whatever the critics say, whatever anybody says-is going to be his re-enactment of how much his parents loved each other and how upset his mother was when this happened. So as an actor it certainly filled me with as many tools and emotions as I needed, because it was so real. But as her friend I was very, very scared. I was very relieved when she felt we had done it right
AJ speaks so intelligently and so normally too.
Newsweek: When I watch “A Mighty Heart,” I think it’s a very political movie, but not overtly-its politics are in those scenes around the dinner table, where there’s all these different people from different cultures working together. There’s a kind of commentary in that. Did you discuss that when you were working on the movie?
Jolie: Yeah, we were very conscious of it. It’s something that Mariane made a big point of in her book, and it’s very much who she is, and what that family represents today. They all continue to work Âtoward dialogue. Just having all those actors at the table was a nice balance, because during this time when our country is at war and there’s so much happening, to be in India and Pakistan with Indian and Pakistani actors, who usually also don’t work together and don’t cross each other’s border, to have them asking us questions about politics, to actually have open discussions about 9/11, about Muslim culture, American culture, sharing food, sharing ideas, writing each other’s kids’ names down-that did something for us. It was really exciting to say, “God, that Pakistani actor or that Indian actor is one of the best actors I’ve ever worked with,” and I don’t often think of actors beyond, you know, the list we’re all used to. I think that is very symbolic of what the piece represented.
