Happy Sunday! How excited are you about the game today? I really believe the Giants can win this! Having a little party for the games, no Packers fans allowed! :lol:

It’s great to see Angelina out and about and Brad obviously making sure his wife gets all his attention. This cannot be an easy time for her for it was around this time of year that her mother died. This would be the first anniversary of her death.

I think that everyone whom I’ve ever spoken to tell me that the first of anything can be really painful. The first birthday without the loved one, the first anniversary of their death, the first christmas or new year and on and on it goes.

Time does help in healing wounds. Judging by the pattern of behaviour Brad has displayed in the last 2.5 years since he and Angelina started their relationship, I’m sure Brad will make sure that he’s around and near Angelina, supporting her during this difficult period. He has shown nothing but total devotion to Angelina and his children since they decided to be a family.

Angie already addressed the weight issue. She lost her mother, it was a tough year. I pray you have somebody in you life that if something happened you might actually be affected by it. Thats called loving. As for looking unhappy, I’m sure you’d be a little smiling ray of sunshine with hundreds of flashing lights going off in your face, when all you wanted to do was spend a night out with the one you love!

Pleshette died of respiratory failure at her Los Angeles home on Saturday, friends and associates told local media. She had received chemotherapy for lung cancer in 2006 and appeared at a Bob Newhart reunion in September in a wheelchair.

Newhart issued a statement calling his co star an indomitable spirit and one of those people you thought would go on forever.
She was looking forward to getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on her birthday, January 31,” said Newhart.

Born January 31,1937 in New York City. Pleshette was married 3 times most recently to comic actor Tom Poston who died in April 2007.

Thanks JJ for the new threads. Haven’t posted since friday, figured its a slow news week but so glad to be back and look at these cute pics. I just browsed through some of the posts from the previous thread; looked at some of the videos from the round table… DDL’s outfit just cracked me up! :lol: How come its okay for people to critic Angelina’s polished style and not even mention even just a snippet of DDL’s passion for the absurd? I’m a big DDL fan, and I love his quirkiness but how come people find a guy’s weirdness, i.e. J Depp, quirky and a girl’s weirdness/difference disturbing? Social double standard to this day.
I guess, there aren’t a lot of you guys on right now because you’re all probably watching football? (How are the Giants doing? Eli choking yet - just kidding- seriously I’d be really shocked if they beat the Pats- those guys are just playing impeccably this season, its amazing) I’m more of a tennis fan so I’ve been tuning to the Australian Open (on and off) more the last week… I’ll probably tune in much more this second week which becomes more interesting. The change of the color of the courts though is kind of curious? I liked the green color from last couple of years… I know they built these new courts but the blue is kind of taken by the US Open so it kind of takes away any signature… like the way critics always overlook the Aussie Open at the end of the year round up…
Anyway, I let that subject run on wayyy too long… :lol: … I’ll just catch up with the goings on in the world.

My mom passed away 6 months ago and not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. And you’re right about birthdays. New Year’s Eve was the hardest because I didn’t want to celebrate the first year where my mom wouldn’t be around.

But, I hope you all don’t mind me regressing back to the last thread on the Newsweek roundtable. This is something that’s been bothering me for a while.
1.) I find it absurd that people would think that as Angie fans we would believe she’s a “great” actress due to blind worship. These same people would choose to ignore the directors, producers, film critics, and fellow actors who also think of Angie as a “great” actress.
2.) I’m tired of the comparisons to Cate Blanchett. It’s like comparing Marlon Brando to Peter Sellers. Both actors, from the same generation with different acting styles, and yet they are considered two of the greatest actors of cinema. BTW - I find it interesting that in the article about the late Pauline Kael, former New York Times film critic and also considered THE critic in her day, talked about Angie’s standout performance in Pushing Tin, but didn’t say anything about
Cate.
3.) Ellen Page’s (who I underestimated as an actress after watching the roundtable discussion) description of acting as an honest portrayal coming from the heart made me think of Angie’s acting. It’s honest, pure, and from the heart. Some of her greatest performances stay with you long after the closing credits. And her screen presence is beyond words.
4.) Finally…I compare Angie to the late James Dean. Watch “Rebel without a Cause” and “East of Eden.” You’ll see what I mean.

Sorry for the long post. I just had to finally get that off my chest. Feel much better. :-)

Anyway….thanks Jared for the two new threads. You’re the best! I’m glad Angie and Brad are able to enjoy another date night. It’s sweet.

it is awesome that they are such wonderful hands on parents and we see photos of them spending individual time with each child. but i am especially pleased to see them take mom and dad time and continue to nurture their relationship. it is so easy to get caught up in the kids and not give as much to the parents relationship. they seem so very togehter. it is lovely.

Okay a brief rant. Got my Sunday paper and on the front page there is a picture of the Oscar hopefuls. And yes GC is there, but no Angie.

Last night on JJB there was a discussion about GC getting praise for his one trip to Darfur and Angie’s eight years of travel hardly begin mention. Then I come here and read the sh*tty article by Tom O’Neal. This is MHO concerning Angie and her humanitarian work. Angie is a woman. Angie went to Sierra Leone against her father’s wishes. She has gone to these countries by herself. I don’t know if she even took her bodyguard with her until recently. Even when Bono goes somewhere he goes with a group. GC goes with cameras and a orchestra. Angie has gone were very few men have gone. And will never go. And she has gone alone. She does what she believes in. She doesn’t need the approval of her father or any other man. The media is controlled by men. The newspapers, tv, People magazine. Thus when she travels nothing is reported. When is appointed to the FSC, or receives the Freedom Award nothing is reported. GC f*arts and it is breaking news. They cannot allow her to appear to be too strong. She threatens so many men, Trump and Tom O’Neil. These men all have h*rds on for her. They want to break her. Gentle her down Make her submit to them.

That is one reason people seem surprised about her and Brad being together. Brad was not preceived as this strong man who could handle a woman like Angelina. Control her. Make her submit to him. That is why some say he is p*ssy whipped and follows her lead. Remember he was married to x. Now he is with one of the most independent and strong women in HW. And he seems to be handling it quite well. Why because they respect each other. And she doesn’t need to be controlled. She will controll herself. When he was asked about her traveling to some of these countries, what did he say? He said she was intelligent and she took the necessary precautions to be safe. He said he trusted her judgement. He didn’t say she shouldn’t go. He said he trusted her judgement. I am certain that sent chills down the spine of, or spineless, men like DT and TO’N and cries of whipped rang out loud and clear.

Angie is doing what she believes in. GC let’s see if he is still doing this a year from now. Two years from now. And for of you who still believe that GC would donate to MIS and not have his name listed. Think again. Go view the Roundtable tape again. The man couldn’t keep his mouth closed. And there are those who suggested that he was protecting Angie when she was asked about her and Brad going to Pakistain to deliver supplies. BS. He just wanted the spotlight. He doesn’t have anything to talk about. Therefore he talks about what Brad and Angie have done.

Angie is a special person. Not because she is beautiful. But in spite of the fact that she is so beautiful. And the same for Brad. We as fans should ignore the smallness of the minds of the trolls, the O’Neils, Trumps, and GCs of the world who need these two people to validate themselves. I am happy they found each other. Peace.
