I’m reeling right now..but I had an ominous feeling peeps were working behind the scenes to lobby acad members to snub her…be it huvane, voight pals, or other jealous superstar movie stars…whoever is in that acad wanted to stifle her…angie (and brad) are simply too big for the room…and a select group of high powered undercover jealous haters hate that. well the oscars can kiss the ratings goodbye. I also am fairly certain that this may also have to do with eliminating the lynchpin in the bargaining talks with writers….the threat of a show being cancelled that features angelina jolie and brad pitt was a helluva bargaining chip for writers…now, that is a moot point. no one will give a sh*t now.

No oscare nod for the ***** Mangelina, I told you so

An E news correspondent said Angelina did not get a nomination because A Mighty Heart came out in June and was not fresh on the minds of the academy voters. Normally I would agree with that, but how do you explain Cate Blancetts nomination for Elizabeth? That movie came out in the summer too and got terrible reviews. But the biggest surprise is Kera Knightly not getting a nomination for Atonement. I guess politics are in play here for sure.

Oscar is also politics, & kissing a………….. Brad & Ange are still the best even they were snubbed by the Academy Awards. Fans still love them. God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s. Got to go to work, bbl.

She needs to dump Brad and his giant nostrils. Make sure she looks wounded and hurt by the breakup for more sympathy.
Freaking part 2 of Cate’s movie sucked and just because they messed up the first time around and gave Gwyny poo the award instead of cate that doesn’t make it fair to the talented people THIS YEAR. They were a joke last year too when they handed the award over to that old dude from little miss sunshine.

I watched Little miss sunshine after the awards last year and I was shocked that that guy won .

Looks like Cliniqua can’t understand that jolie jusat can’t act.
When will the loons learn?
And no, I am not fat and not a Jennifer Aniston fan…and neither am I working for Huvane.

Sue. You are wrong.
Just bec they were not nominated doesn’t mean they cannot act.
Even Julia Roberts was not nominated and she had several awards.
Winning an Oscar is Jinx.
Besides, its Politics.
I bet you, just bec Jolie and Pitt will not attend the show, this Oscar Award night will be a flop. FLOP FLOP FLOP. Down the drain..

Haters are just like their idol all they think about is winning awards. Being an actress like Angelina Jolie acting is all that matters. Portraying a character to the best of your ability to tell your story is all that matters. A mighty heart was a very good movie and had all of todays issues in it.
If the oscar people think Elizabeth Golden Age is better than a Mighty Heart then they are just as old fashion and out of touch with today’s issues facing any human being in this world Terrorists.
I wonder what they would have done if it was their husband who be killed while pregnant like mariane.
I think this award show has become a money making machine for out of touch people to award out of touch movies.
On why agie did not get the award winnin an award is not everything. A whole list of Actress and Actors who just as deseving did not get nominated. So lay of this lady, go get your freak out of someone else.
Angie is fine, had nominations for this movie she her self was not expecting.
GOOD LUCK ANGIE ON SUNDAY FOR THE SAG AWARDS.

Well said. ITA with you.

2008 Oscar Nominations Get it Wrong: Snubs Take the Fun Out of This Year’s Race

In a year when the Oscar ceremony is in peril because of the ongoing writers’ strike, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences decided to save us the back and forth will-they or won’t-they drama and just killed the Oscars themselves. In a year of groundbreaking film and breakout performances, the Oscar nominations went to old favorites and left out several deserving nominees.

The historical British film “Atonement” was nominated for Best Picture, but the major players in the film, director Joe Wright and leads Keira Knightley and James McAvoy were all snubbed by the Academy. George Clooney’s overhyped performance in “Michael Clayton” took what should have been McAvoy’s nomination

Ryan Gosling’s critically acclaimed performance in “Lars and the Real Girl” also failed to turn the Academy’s head. The film wasn’t widely seen, and while Gosling has been overshadowed somewhat by Daniel Day-Lewis and Javier Bardem his name had been listed by some critics as a possible contender. Denzel Washington also gave a strong performance in “American Gangster.” His snub is one that will likely leave movie-goers scratching their heads, but it is an example of a role that resonates with the public but not the Academy voters.

In the Best Actress category, the biggest shocker was the exclusion of Angelina Jolie for her role in “A Mighty Heart.” It was Jolie’s finest performance since her Oscar-winning turn in “Girl, Interrupted.” The Academy instead inexplicably chose to honor “Juno’s” Ellen Page, Page performance was wonderful, but it lacked the strength and emotional resonance of Jolie’s turn as Marianne Pearl, the widow of murdered reporter Daniel Pearl. Many critics also thought Amy Adams had a chance to secure her first nomination as Princess Giselle in the Disney fantasy “Enchanted.” Cate Blanchett was a dual nominee this year, with a nomination in this category for “Elizabeth” and a nomination for Supporting Actress as Bob Dylan in “I’m Not There.”

In the Best Picture category, “Sweeney Todd” was left out in the cold, as was director Tim Burton. Johnny Depp received an Best Actor nod for his turn as the title character, but Burton’s adaptation of the Broadway musical may have proven too bloody for squeamish Academy voters. Burton wasn’t the only big name left off the list of Best Directors. Sean Penn was expected to be a shoe-in for “Into the Wild,” but he found himself on the outside looking in.

They look pathetic and she wasn’t nominated for an Oscar so she probably had a lot to drink and did some drugs to make the pain go away.

oh asstrid,anjie has everything.

ot.poor heath!

duh!to hell with oscar!!!!! der 50% at macy.

addictedtobampzs @ 01/22/2008 at 5:56 pm

Cliniqua, I know something wasn’t right with this preposterous line-up but could not come up with a reason for it, which you have. I will not repeat my rant on the actual Academy Awards thread(I forgot where I was.) but anyone who follows films has been dumb-founded by the undeserved promotion of Michael Clayton on all fronts. Juno has been enjoyed, but no possible way Ellen Paige’s charming but close-to-home portrayal of a teen should have ever found itself on this list. I am now thoroughly convinced this is an industry tool, not an authentic recognition of performances. Thanks for figuring it out.

Didn’t surprise me at all. They snubbed Keira Knightley too and everybody was talking about her being a shoe-in for a nomination at least, if not for the award.

**NOW MAY WE ALL HAVE A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR HEATH LEDGER?**

Dead of an overdose at 28. What a waste.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++

No, but you ARE VITRIOLIC from FemaleF1irst and Media.lady spending countless hours for years now wishing all kinds of ill will and harm on Jolie and her children. I think that’s a bit worse than being a fat, Jennifer Aniston fanatic nurse from Wales don’t you?

The very notion that a nurse would have such a vile obsession and utter the venom you do toward this woman and her children is disturbing to say the least.

Go play the fool somewhere else.

I totally agree that the pressure on the writers’ guild just came off. This will be a dud of a show IMHO. I hope Brad doesn’t feel like they have to go to support Casey & Deakins. AJ wasn’t the only snub. Brad was 100 times better than Depp and GC and better than Viggo too but by a slimmer margin. Neither he or AJ would have won IMO. I say after the NAACP awards they should head to France or Cambodia and have some fun with the rugrats before BP starts the Malick film!

I was right she would get a nod (and rightly so) but good news for the mentally unstable … you all have something to talk/whine/complain about for weeks. Her loss is your purpose in life … poor souls

RachelSun @ 01/22/2008 at 7:55 pm

The only mentally unstable people on here are the haters who really feel that Jolie has been hurt but she has always said she wanted the attention for the film for Marianne and her son and not for herself. For all we know she could have missed by one vote. We will never know. As long as she is hired and sought for roles her place in Hollywood is secure.

The rest of us know that, so disappointed yes destroyed as you pathetic excuse for a human being wishes, HE$$ NO.

You wastes of humanity have been trying for 3 years to get people on here to leave and hate the Jolie-Pitts. all you have accomplished is more fans and not less.

oh shitzygeorgica,ur soul must be in p@rgatory.i know ur longing for papa pitts big bird, bwaahaahahahahaa .doesn’t like your flower.

here’s the deal shitzyrica, brads babies momma got the STATUE already.

if you can’t handle that shitzyrica, start crawling to your tewmb.

gena: my husband & I watched “The Kite Runner ” too last night, it’s highly recommended, very good movie. I have no intention of watching Mad Money.
What’s going on with the X? She seems like she wants attention or is she becoming like Britney Spears? Is she like this all the time, exposing herself? What a shame.
God bless the Jolie-Pitt’s.
