If you’ve already seen Cloverfield and didn’t sit through the ridiculous 12-minutes-long credits, you probably missed this. An audio clip was played backwards!

Very true, Cloverfield was so hyped and promoted but it was alright. Same with all the hype for the final Star Wars,War of the Worlds,I am Legend and they were good but not the greatest.
We shall see how JJ Abrams delivers and redeems Star Trek.
Its scary when Morgan Freeman’s and Nicholsom’s good film was beaten by crappy crude movie 27 Dresses. Mad Money opened good despite the not so good reviews. This weekend alone had 4 comedies out from 27 Dresses,Bucket Lists,Mad Money and Black Sunday. Mad Money and Black Sunday almost has the same opening of 7 million.
Similar to the same opening of 9 million between Sweeney Todd and Charlie Wilson’s War.
Katie had to do lots of promotion because SHE IS THEIR PUBLICITY WEAPON. She is free publicity unlike the other movies that had money for their promotions.
Wrong again Reatty.
Here is the real cost of Mad Money and its not even close to your lies of 22 million:

Only *few* Indie films do big at the box office and its only Juno
by Jason Reitman. The same director for Katie Holmes Thank you for Smoking. TYFS did great for an Indie comedy satire too making the top 10 with $262,923. Not big as Mad Money but its pretty decent for an Indie cred because of the hype it got with the missing sex scenes between Katie and Aaron Eckhart who is supposedly her love interest again in Batman.
Please reports facts not twisted lies.
trolls are quick to slaughter Katie but they ignore the weak box office numbers of other actresses like Little Miss Sunshine, Cate Blanchett’s Elizabeth and I am not There when it even got Ledger,Bale and many A listers in it.
I cant think of any Scarlett Johansson’s hit movies or even Jessica Alba except Fantastic 4 when any actress can replace her and that will still be a hit. Angelina Jolie’s Mighty Heart was called a flop along with Witherspoon’s Rendition. P.S. I Love You is by a big studio by Hilary Swank but Mad Money the 1st release of Overture a small studio earned more. Julia Roberts Charlie Wilson only opened 9 million and that stellar cast and many glowing reviews.
Cloverfield was one of the worst movies I have ever sat through, 3 mins in I was already feeling sick from the ’shaky cam’ . I spent almost the entire time with my eyes closed, not because it was scary, bloody or even gruesome - but because the moving camera gave me motion sickness…and I was not the only one with this problem! I don’t think I missed much, as at the end of the movie everyone in the theater seemed very disappointed!
I just feel like I need to warn people about how crappy it was…it got sooo much great hype…and it did really well this weekend - but all that hype didn’t result in an even slightly good movie!
put more pics of the cast please! they are sooo good looking.
I wasted my money on 27 Dresses and Bucket Lists. Wasted my money on Cloverfield too. Its no entertainment when you feel so queasy. Will wait for Mad Money on DVD.
Anne Hathaway’s “Becoming Jane” by Miramax a Disney owned production made much much less than Mad Money.
I bet Katie’s castmate Michelle Williams wont even make any money if she did Mad Money and Im banking Katie’s replacement Maggie Gyllenhaal wont draw any crowd for Mad Money if she starred in this crap. People are not watching The Dark Knight for Maggie Gyllenhaal but for Batman vs the Joker and the other amazing actors and hunks.
they’re all ugly and the guy looks like a wonnabee Vartan and the women look like a wonnabee Megan Fox and Angelina Jolie.
Batman Begins paycheck for Katie is $ 1 million
but she turned down the $ 2 million paycheck raise for the Batman sequel to do a $ 12 million budget small movie and her paycheck for Mad Money
is only $250,000.
I didnt like any movies this weekend except Juno.
I wonna chime in that Nicole Kidman hasnt had a hit for so long. Her last movie* Golden Compass* fell short for New Line Cinema because she is overpaid and the movie was so expensive to make.
Kerri Russell’s *August Rush* didnt open well for Warner Bros. and her Independent film *Waitress* despite glowing reviews only opened 3 million. Naomi Watts blockbuster *King Kong* flopped so badly directed by Peter Jackson.
#47 I think it was a blockbuster because of all the hype. I went to see the movie because of all the hype as I am sure many of us did. And because of it ,we pushed the movie to the number one spot. We manage to put the movie into the number one slot because we were curious not neccessaryly because the movie was good.
hahaha its just a stupid mutated whale that attacks the city. how funny is that?
true its not a good movie at all, the hype for nothing since that summer teaser they put out during Transformers.
i think the people who hated cloverfield hated it cause the shaky cam.
i didnt go out and pay for it at the theaters because so many people online were saying how it made them sick, and i didnt want to wast time and money, so i watched it online. the quality was HORRIBLE, which kind of ruined it for me, but even then, i think it has been one of the most original movies in a while. it was really good. i will now go pay the money to see it in its best quality so i can actually see whats going on in the background.
personally, i think its been in the top 5 best movies over the last few years. it was original, and it had more to it then people getting killed and slashed into a bloody mess. and i really love that they used unknown actors, it was so much more believeable.
oh ya and i thought that girl was zoey deschanel for the entire movie, then looked it up and it wasnt! they look alot alike though.
and also, i hate when people compare EVERY up and coming actress to angelina jolie. just because shes beautiful and has dark hair, means nothing. shes pretty! so what? not every woman is trying to be angelina jolie, and some poeple dont even find her attractive!
every person has such a vast difference and interesting features, why compare? you can see them all in their own way
