Sanjaya Malakar Has a Girlfriend?
American Idol alum Sanjaya Malakar was seen getting cozy and walking arm-in-arm with a ‘female friend’ in Los Angeles on Sunday.
Third wheel sister (and Idol reject) Shyamali accompanied the pair on their lunch date. The brother-sister pair now share a house together in Los Angeles.
Sanjaya recently opened up to People about his music career.
“I’m not in the recording stages yet,” he said. “I’m writing music and starting to interview producers. If I had to define it, it would be alternative pop rock, like Paolo Nutini or James Morrison.”
Sanjaya also mentioned that he’s shopping to do a variety show similar to Donny & Marie in the 1970s.
“[Shyamali and I are] Donny and Marie for the next generation!” Ummm…

Sanjaya looks great here. I’m not sure if this is his girlfriend or if she is just a friend or cousin. I’m sure if he wants us to know we will find out in time. I can’t wait to find out what’s going on with his career!

That is not his girlfriend. I’m not saying who it is. She is obviously uncomfortable being stalked, and he is acting protective towards her.
He has deals already signed and deals pending. Clearly the paps, gossip sites like this one and TMZ are interested enough in him to take pictures and blog about him merely walking down the street.
