Celebrity Reactions to Heath Ledger’s Death
Here are the first celebrity reactions of Heath Ledger’s death:
“I am just beyond sad at this point and shocked. I was on my way over to pay him a visit when I found out. I had just left him a message and heard his voice on the machine. He was such a special and genuine person, so extraordinarily talented because he was so raw and honest with his feelings. He was so full of life, so electric…. This is immensely sad.” — supermodel Helena Christensen, rumored to have been romantically involved with Heath
“What a tragedy. My heart goes out to his family.” — Nicole Kidman
“I am shocked and very saddened by the news. I deeply respect Heath’s work and always admired his continuing development as an artist. My thoughts are with his family and close friends.” — Cate Blanchett
“I had such great hope for him. He was just taking off and to lose his life at such a young age is a tragic loss. My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.” — Mel Gibson
“He is one of my favorite actors. His abilities are rare…it’s a tremendous loss. It’s hard to be here celebrating Australia under these circumstances.” — John Travolta
“It was with great sadness that I have learned of the passing of Heath Ledger. It is tragic that we have lost one of our nation’s finest actors in the prime of his life. Heath Ledger’s diverse and challenging roles will be remembered as some of the great performances by an Australian actor.” — Kevin Rudd, Prime Minister of Australia
“The studio is stunned and devastated by this tragic news. The entertainment community has lost an enormous talent. Heath was a brilliant actor and an exceptional person. Our hearts go out to his family and friends.” — Statement by Alan Horn, President and COO of Warner Bros. and Jeff Robinov, President, Warner Bros. Pictures Group

yes, it’s a big lost. it’s really nice of them all.
@ bataglio
Yeah, because it’s not possible that he was depressed over his fallout with Michelle Williams and being away from his daughter, right??
And, please, /the soldiers giving their life in the war/?!? You’ve got to be kidding me. Anyone who takes part in a war is definitely not respect worthy, either, in my book.
i feel soo bad for the god he was a great man but then he started to take a such irrevelant role of the joker his mind became a **** and took too much medicine poor guy
R.I.P. my dear Heath. I will never forget you !
I still can’t believe he’s gone. I preordered my tickets to The Dark Knight. I’m really looking forward to seeing the movie, but it will be sad because it’s his last. I’m really going to miss him in the movies.

I love Heath Ledger so much. I wish he never died and I cry so much just to think of him…today is March 18th, 2009 and it has been a year, two months, and 18 days since he died…I have been keeping track. May God bless him and his family. I hope he is in Heaven with God because he was an angel to me and so many other people. Rest In Peace Heath. I love you *tears up* .
Lots of love, Angie
I watched his Batman role, finally. It took me two days and 4 sittings. I became so depressed watching him in this role I had to stop and wait to watch more.
What a terrible loss to all of us and it still breaks my heart.
