OlderHEATH LEDGER DEAD AT 28
Heath Ledger has been found dead in his SoHo apartment in New York City.
He was found in his bed by his housekeeper at 3:35 PM ET, reportedly surrounded by pills.
The 28-year-old actor has a 2-year-old daughter, Matilda Rose, with former fiancee Michelle Williams.
Just this past weekend, Heath was in London filming the Terry Gilliam-directed movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. The last pictures of Heath were taken this past Saturday–he was dressed in a clown costume.
The Australian-born actor was nominated for an Academy Award in 2005 for his role as gay cowboy Ennis in Brokeback Mountain. He also finished filming his role as The Joker in the new Batman film, The Dark Knight.
UPDATE 1: According to The New York Times, “At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at Apartment 5A in the building for an appointment with Mr. Ledger, the police said. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Mr. Ledger’s bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Mr. Ledger unconscious. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they did not suspect foul play. Officials said pills were found near the body.”
UPDATE 2: Heath was found in his bed, naked and face down. There were prescription bottles left uncovered near the deceased–prescription sleeping medication.

It’s always tragic to lose someone at such an early age. He will be remembered as a very talented, awe inspiring actor who tried to remain low key. My condolences to his family, especially his young daughter…

He actually was a great actor. Brokeback was the best and should have won the oscar for that. So sad. So Sad.

OMG!!!! That is sooo sad…may his soul Rest In peace…we dnt really know what to say with these things - the way he was found insinuates he OD and you never know he could have been dealing with depression and no one would have known.
And that takes the absolute PISS that his parents found out on TV..that is so rude didnt anyone think to inform the relatives before they start broadcasting it up and down the whole world…thats how you know the media is relentless and hungry for stories…disregarding the effect that it mite have on the people they are talking about …its disgusting!!!
Also I have finally concluded that being a celebrity is not all its cracked up to be…If you get famous u can kiss ur normal - ‘minding ur own business life’ goodbye…I actually feel sorry for them

this is so sad. i actually cried a little. may he rest in peace. my heart goes out to all who are in pain over his death especially his daughter Matilda, his ex-fiancee and mother of his child Michelle Williams, and his past/current gf Gemma Ward. So sad :(
I have been in love with him since I was 8, (when he starred in 10 Things I Hate About You). My sister & my self have watched it hundreds of times in the past 8 years. I know every line & quickly became a big fan of any Heath Ledger movie. I am just so completely shocked. He was a brilliant actor & seemed like such a great guy. I am extremely saddened. My heart goes out to his family, especially his little girl. May God be with them through this time. May the media respect his family by giving them time to grieve.
28 years is only a small fraction of a life that he should have had.
