Good for Casey and Cate. Julie Christie will win, cuz Helen Mirren is not nominated this year.
the academy sucks,too much politics,
Is Michael Clayton any good? I haven’t seen it.
No Country for Old Men is going to sweep this year.
Too bad for James McAvoy and Keira Knightley… they got snobbed for giving one of the best performances of their careers! Still they’re young, so there’s a lot more to come.
I hope JUNO wins! It’s about time a ‘witty comedy’ film actually wins an Oscar! Good luck Ellen Page. =)
I think Daniel Day Lewis is going to win. He’s a brilliant actor and very humble.
I love Cate Blanchett- but Elizabeth and the Golden Age was overacted and awful. That space should have gone to Jolie or Knightley instead.
bbbbbbbbbbwwwwwwwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahha
no jolie.
JUNO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ellen page!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that’s great
Very disappointed that Angie did not get nominated. Her fans are prolly more bummed than she is, as her goals in life are stretch so much farther than collecting little trophies.
The ratings this year will be dismal, to say the least, as the power couple of Hwood won’t be gracing the RC.
I don’t really get the Ellen Page nom. Yes, she’s a fresh talent and was wonderful in Juno, but Oscar worthy? Not IMHO.
Oh well, life goes on…..
OMG! WTF! Angie did not get a nomination???????????????
Cate took her position. Hollywood does not like Angie and Brad, if you ask me. I’m shock people!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I blame it on the Newsweek curse. Last year it was Brad now it’s Angie turn. I want the strike to go on so the Oscar with suffer the same fate as the Golden Globes. This is outrageous!!!!! How can they overlooked Angie’s performance in AMH!
Totally UNFAIR!!! I’m going to scream!!!!!!!!!!
I thought James McAvoy was going to get a nomination.
It’s funny how Atonement doesn’t have any major nomination but is nominated for Best Picture. Usually, if a movie gets a Best Picture nomination, it followers with a best director nomination. Strange.

Personally, I think it was overrated. The guy next to me ate his popcorn and snored through the next 45 minutes, until it was too loud and my hubby nudged him.
GC was as good as GC can be….don’t think he will beat DDLewis though.
I think the academy snubbed Angie and Brad because they did not attend last year, which automatically brings them lower ratings. If they think last year was bad. If Brad and Angie don’t show watch out. I know it probably bothers Brad and Angies fans more than it does them. What happened to Denzel? another mistake on the Academy’s part.
YIPPIEEEEEH - Viggo is nominated!!
Whether he will win is a something completely different thing …
Thanks Julianne for feedback. I’ll saved my $4 by not renting MC.

Totally agree. I wonder how much of Ellen Page’s nom is tied to Box Office dollars???
I am not saying that she didn’t do a great job in Juno, but she played a teenager facing pregnancy…and the role just did not demand the range that Angelina faced in protraying Marianne Pearl.
I’ve always thought that it is hard to judge actors when play such diversified roles, and I gotta say there’s alot more behind this than I will pretend to understand. Just will say that I am disappointed, because I fully expected Angelina to be nominated.
ANGELINA DIDNT GET THE NOD BECAUSE SHE WASNT GOOD ENOUGH PEOPLE. Geezzzzzz!
One day fans are going on and on about how awesome it is she will probably be winning an oscar. Then when she doesnt get the nod, it suddenly becomes “its all politics”, “the academy doesnt like her”, ” she is too busy anyway” blah blah blah.
Get over it…… the bad wig and fake french accent did her in
I recalled last year rating was very low. It was much lower than the year before that. The GG rating last year was good.
I am now praying for the end of the writers strike. I must see Johnny Depp win.
amie #19, I agree with you. What’s so hard to get about “her acting sucks”? Funny, how attitudes and opinions change when it doesn’t work out to the Brangelina benefit, isn’t it?
Congrats to all the nominees. They deserve it. I, for one, will be watching, since I won’t have to look at the smug face of Angelina Jolie and her little lost boy!
Dint know that Brad wrote Ratatouille.
I am happy for Cate Blanchett - i hope she gets both!
She has to play a drugged out, crazy, lesbian beatch to win an award. In other words, herself.
GO johnny wooo hoooo
I really hope Marion Cottillard will win because she was stunning in la vie en rose
The academy sucks however, it was smart enough to see through the shallow, worthless performances by Brad Stupitt and Angelina Ska ka lina. Yeah!
LOL at Jolie fans
They have been claiming like there are no other actresses in the world other than Jolie to get the Oscar …but seriously its true she doesnt deserve an oscar
Ops i read Brad Pitt not Bird.
My mistake sorry.
No Denzel Washington for “American Gangsta”…not even Russell Crowe, which was his best role in years!
I’m not going to enjoy this year’s Oscars. Lots of snubs.
james mcavoy should have gotten a nomination. i’ve never seen him in any other movie though…so i’m not sure how this performance rated in regards to his other performances. but in this movie he was wonderful. atonement was such a touching and heartbreaking movie….very haunting. i’m sad he didn’t get a nod.
