OlderJohnny Depp to Replace Heath Ledger

Johnny Depp is poised to replace tragic Heath Ledger in his latest film role, reports UK’s The Sun.
Heath, who was found dead Tuesday in New York, was six weeks away from finishing fantasy flick The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.
Now director Terry Gilliman wants his pal Johnny to film the remaining scenes.
A studio source said: “There is a point in the film when Heath falls through a magic mirror. He could change into another character after that and that is where Johnny would come in.
“It’s a weird, fantasy, time-travel movie so Heath’s character could easily change appearance. It would be a poignant moment.
“Johnny’s not working at the moment so everyone is praying he will do it.”

and they do kinda look alike! want me to go and break my fingers too. ****
its a terry gilliam film weird things should happen even transformations of characters. plus gilliam is the least hollywood of anybody. he would want to finish this film not for money but both for artistic expression and to be a tribute to mr. ledger. so for anyone saying this is disrespectful is being a ****. Heath would have been fine with this seeing as he would have understood how terry has gone through hell so many times that terry may not even have another chance to make another film seeing as hollywood usually screws him as it is.

How weird. Now people are gonna be comparing Johnny to Heath if they use them both in the same film. The studios didn”t miss a beat did they?
Studios? Holy….THIS ISN’T A STUDIO MOVIE! It’s indepently financed! It is a film made for artistic reasons not money!
I should probabbly clear up my last post since some people will say aren’t all films made for money even artsy ones. yes that is true but it surely should show how much of a non money issue when heath himself took a large pay cut to help gilliam make the film.

Wow, seriously it’s going to take me awhile to get over this one…hell most people aren’t going to get over his death. He was just so talented…I wish someone would have magically knew something was wrong and saved him…ugh…i hate this,..
if johny or any body replaces him on that movie ,i for one not going to see that movie and i hope every boy would do the same thing in honor to his memory.

hold on…. Johnny is not even cast yet in this movie… Johnny probably doesn’t even know about this… Terry Gilliam would love Johnny to film Heath’s remaining scenes but that doesn’t mean that Johnny will do it… it’s just an idea/rumor… it’s not yet confirmed…

Great Choice. I hope JD does it. I really believe if Phoenix hadn’t died, JD might have ended up where Ledger is now - so, in a way, it seems proper he would replace Heath.

i hope this is true, only so i can see heath’s for the last time, i actually think it would be a beautiful idea, but only if they keep heath’s footage
Thats a good idea, I think Heath would be also happy to see his film finished!
I hope Johnny does but ony if it feels right for him, for the cast, for Terry and most importantly for Heaths family. I don’t think there could be a better actor than Johnny Depp to step in and if it means Matilda gets to see the final scenes her dad shot then I think it should be done.
Terry Gilliam is not a Hollywood guy, he’ll do this if its the right thing to do and not for the money. He’ll make sure Heath’s memory is preserved in it.
I think its ok. People die, and a movie that has a big budget and many actors and people on the set to pay salaries for has to go on. I agree with some of you that all this has happened too fast, but I’m happy that they’re incorporating his scenes into it. It seems kinda cool. I’ve always pictured Heath growing older and looking like Johnny Depp (somewhat). I hope Johnny accepts! R.I.P. HEATH!!
That was my idea… They totally stole my idea!! (I know, I know, it was the obvious solution, but still.)
Ok, I thought it would be best if Johnny replaced Heath and reshot the scenes, but hey, if this works… Gilliam does need a little break.
Hey, People, have you ever thought that maybe they have a deadline to get this movie finished? that’s probably why they are already looking for somebody to replace him. I do hope that Johnny does it I think he is a wonderful actor. It’s still unreal that Heath died though.
