Johnny Depp to Replace Heath Ledger

Johnny Depp to Replace Heath Ledger

Johnny Depp is poised to replace tragic Heath Ledger in his latest film role, reports UK’s The Sun.

Heath, who was found dead Tuesday in New York, was six weeks away from finishing fantasy flick The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

Now director Terry Gilliman wants his pal Johnny to film the remaining scenes.

A studio source said: “There is a point in the film when Heath falls through a magic mirror. He could change into another character after that and that is where Johnny would come in.

“It’s a weird, fantasy, time-travel movie so Heath’s character could easily change appearance. It would be a poignant moment.

Johnny’s not working at the moment so everyone is praying he will do it.”

i hope this is true, only so i can see heath’s for the last time, i actually think it would be a beautiful idea, but only if they keep heath’s footage

Thats a good idea, I think Heath would be also happy to see his film finished!

I hope Johnny does but ony if it feels right for him, for the cast, for Terry and most importantly for Heaths family. I don’t think there could be a better actor than Johnny Depp to step in and if it means Matilda gets to see the final scenes her dad shot then I think it should be done.

Terry Gilliam is not a Hollywood guy, he’ll do this if its the right thing to do and not for the money. He’ll make sure Heath’s memory is preserved in it.

I think its ok. People die, and a movie that has a big budget and many actors and people on the set to pay salaries for has to go on. It’s interesting how the plot can accomodate this transition snce its a weird fantasy movie. I am sure Depp will be great in the remainder of it. http://arabaquarius.blogspot.com/

Two of my favourite actors..They do seem kind of similar.

It’s Terry Gilliam…

it will be quite weird to see that movie

I agree with some of you that all this has happened too fast, but I’m happy that they’re incorporating his scenes into it. It seems kinda cool. I’ve always pictured Heath growing older and looking like Johnny Depp (somewhat). I hope Johnny accepts! R.I.P. HEATH!!

That was my idea… They totally stole my idea!! (I know, I know, it was the obvious solution, but still.) :-)

Ok, I thought it would be best if Johnny replaced Heath and reshot the scenes, but hey, if this works… Gilliam does need a little break.

Hey, People, have you ever thought that maybe they have a deadline to get this movie finished? that’s probably why they are already looking for somebody to replace him. I do hope that Johnny does it I think he is a wonderful actor. It’s still unreal that Heath died though.

R.I.P. Heath.

i hope johnny depp agrees. he’s very good like Heath but i wish they won’t remove heath’s scenes or shoot over it. i dont want batman to be his last film =(

When Branden Lee died in the crow. There was no replacement. I think it sad when it come down to money and not a memory of Heath.

You do realize that a replacement is made because every day that filming stopsequlas 10’s of thousands and more of dollars gone….For sure Heath will be memorialized by the filmaker, producers and studio, but they have money already invested….. and someone to complete the film is purely a business decision. It in no way reflects their feeling of loss for this wonderful actor. Quite the contrary. Working in Hollywood, everyone has nothing but repect for a fellow actor when they are lost in tragedy.
Just as in any other business, someone steps in when someone else passes away or leaves. Not to erase the history or hard work of the passing actor, but to continue on as that actor would have wanted the studio to do so—- for the work that they have already created.

To be asked to add to the work that he has already completed—What an honor.

Johnny Depp didn’t choose to take heath’s place.
he was asked too.

Johnny would do a wonderful, classy job I’m sure.

@[~F a m o u s~]: johnny depp is not lame the reason why he probably did that is because that’s his best friend and he wanted to finish it for him. That’s what he probably wanted. So there.
