Newlywed Ellen Pompeo looks classy as ever in a sculpted silver gown by Nina Ricci at the 2008 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday in Los Angeles.
The Grey’s Anatomy star explained how she chose her dress for the red carpet: “This dress was in Vogue in the January issue and I said, ‘I had to have this dress’.”
As for the rest of her outfit, Pompeo worked out a messy (yet sexy) top knot and accessorized her look with Fred Leighton jewels and Christian Louboutin peeptoe pumps.
“I wanted to do something more runway with Ellen rather than typical Hollywood hair,” added her hairstylist Harry Josh. “We ended up doing a messy bedhead look with a very chic side bun. Ellen loved it! She’s such a joy to work with, is beyond generous to her glam squad and is incredibly trusting.”

Does she ever wear a colour other than neutral ? She always looks so washed out & a LOT older than her years.
She must go and say “give me the ugliest ******* dress you can find” because she has yet to look good at an award show. At least most people get it right every now and then. Her stylist must really hate her.
I don’t like her dyed blonde hair either. You can see the dark roots underneath, Yuck. Classy no chance.

The dress would have looked good for an evening do & on someone with the right skin tone, but people are right - Ellen does looks washed out & pale. She needs to hire a new stylist fast.
She always looks a lot older than she actually is. She doesn’t have good skin & her eyes are very squinty & wrinkly. Given she’s so skinny she’s going to age fast & become more scrawny.
That dress looks badly in need of an iron. #86 Tin foil lol - very true !!
And what’s with the hair-do - Ellen missed that trend at the last Emmys. Her new hair colour is horrible with the roots showing. Given she’s mousey she should stick to brunette.

I find her gorgeous, she’s shinning in this silver dress and frankly you can hardly say that she’s 38.
I like when people exchange what you thing about a dress or someone, but I find disappointing when they are so scorning and start to bash like that!!!

um, genuises, that is how the dress is SUPPOSED to look! not wrinkled. it really is sad how people seek her out just to bash her. she truly looks amazing. as an avid EP fan i can freely admit that she really has struggled in the fashion sense area, but she has REALLY stepped it up lately and looks like a knock out.

I watched the SAG last night, and EP was one of my favourite, she was stunning, Sara Ramirez was beautiful in her pink dress!!!
I work in a restaurant near the set and sometimes EP,KH, TR and other members of the cast but mostly them,come to eat there, and for having been her waitress several times, I get to see EP closely, and she has a very pretty face and an excellent skin (she didn’t wear a lot of make up).
