Nikki Blonsky @ 2008 SAG Awards
Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky (in Igigi) works the red carpet at the 2008 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday in Los Angeles.
Blonsky and the rest of the cast of Hairspray are up for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

I Love Nikki Blonsky! She is such a great actress. I am so sick of other actresses who just get by on their looks and not their acting skills. Nikki is freakin awesome!!!

Wow can we just talk about the color of her dress? I mean SHUT UP! That color is freaking fabulous and fierce! I am not sold on the cut of it just yet, but I still feel Nikki looked stunning and gorgeous as always! I am sad that they didn’t win but I can’t say anything because Hairspray was the only movie in there that I had seen.
But we all know that Nikki and the entire cast has years of amazing movies and a great career ahead of them!
Im not meaning to be rude because she is probably a LOVELY person, but I wonder if anyone, including her doctor, is telling her that being THAT overweight- (infact it would be considered morbidly obese), is such a major health risk?
Great for her that she has a success story and seems to be full of confidence, but she REALLY needs to lose lots of weight for her health…..especially being so young, it really is terrible. Its as dangerous as being anorexic….putting so much pressure on your heart as well as other vital organs. Not to mention it will be extremely difficult if she ever wants to get pregnant. Does anyone else agree? I
I would have liked her in a more demure shade, but she is pictured here with class nevertheless.
Nikki is gorgeous and I’m so glad she went, and looked so incredible! I’m sad that Hairspray didn’t win, but none the less - I’m happy to see her! I can’t wait for Zac/Nikki photos to come out!

Nikki isn’t that overweight. Please. Plus, she has lost weight recently. And, it’s none of our business. I focus on her personality, and her talent, as do her friends, and that is what they and I love her for. That’s all that matters. The rest is her business.
I love that colour on Nikki! Efron blue! lol. SOOOO upset HS didn’t win, but I’m glad that they all got a big night out anyways!

Nikki looks gorgeous! Im so sad Hairspray didnt win but at least the whole cast was there except Queen. And Zac looked so happy!
Jen Im not sure who you are kidding- she is obese, its not just a matter of being a little overweight (obese is classified as being double what you should be), she needs to lose half her bodyweight. Im not saying its my business, its purely an observation.
Someone close to her should really let her know its time to start being a bit healthier NOT for her looks, purely for health.
Im not saying this to be mean, but Ive noticed lots of people put slack on skinny girls, when in reality its just as dangerous being overweight.
Just ignore it.
So it sucks that HS was robbed but I think what really matters is that Nikki looked happy and Zac for the first time in a while looked happy. :)

Nikki looked like she trully felt beautiful and very comfortable being who she is. I wish I could say the same for most of the skinny starlets who are size 0 or 2. I liked how the dress did not overpower her but accentuated her beauty. I would love to see her in more movies.

I am afraid that I have to agree with you. Nikki is a beautiful girl with alot of talent and a promising future. But she is not a physically healthy example to young girls dispite her outward confidence. In all seriousness, her weight could have severe consequences on her health (I draw on the example of actor John Candy) and her chances of having children should she want to have any. Secondly, there is the posibilty that she will be typecast in furure roles.
Her SHOES are a little big??? Give me a break!!
Nikki is a sweet, talented girl who needs to deal with her overeating issues as soon as possible. Being curvy, even a little chunky, is one thing. This is seriously FAT. Look at her arms, bulging from the fat!!
You don’t get like that overnight. It takes a lot of work to maintain that amount of being overweight and continuing to gain, like she obviously has since Hairspray. Even with all the dancing, she is gaining.
Girl needs to get it under control. This is not cute.
