SAG Awards 2008 Winners
Javier Bardem won the supporting-actor prize for No Country for Old Men and was quite the comedian during his acceptance speech: “Thank you, guys, for hiring me, and thank you for taking the hard work of choosing the good takes instead of the ones where I really sucked.”

Yeah, those are all good.
hahaha javier, your funny ;).
was zac there?
TV winners = Boring and predictable.
Seriously, Hugh Laurie and Glenn Close should’ve won.
Sigh. Hugh Laurie and Ellen PAge lost. My life feels empty.
–read my blog at http://fashionpoirot.blogspot.com
wujuu julie
thats deplorable that cate didnt win any of the 2 noms she had!!!!! :(
where was zac’s girlfriend and his ring is it over for zanessa
To reply to Annie’s comment, Zac Efron presented the award that went to Edie Falco - Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.
I’m glad Tina Fey, The Office, Alec Baldwin, Ruby Dee and Julie Christie won. I hope Dee and Christie win Oscars as well.
Very disapointed
:[
エ think that Juno should’ve won at least something.
and hairspray too.
ohh well.
not very happy
The Office and Daniel Day-Lewis were the only decent wins. I thought his acceptance speech was very touching.
MARION WAS ******* ROBBED.
i knew that james gandolfini, edie falco and the sopranos were gonna win. best tv show ever. totally deserved it
i’m suprised that even though the show ended almost a year ago, they are still winning over shows that are still on the air.
Ellen Page, American Gangster, Entourage - should of won.
Holy hell, Javier Bardem looks sizzling hot! I’m saving this pic in my computer….
A beautiful homage to Heath Ledger given by Daniel Day Lewis. I could see a few wet eyes in the audience. Me too.
I was thrilled that Ms. Christie gave such a ringing acknowledgment to her young CANADIAN director, (who we all love up here in Canada) Sarah Polley.
YAY for Tina. Poo for Cate not getting any!

I’ve said before and I’ll it again there’s no need to wait until February 24 (keeping fingers crosse there will be a ceremony) just give Javier Baredem the Best Supporting Actor Oscar now.
This is going to be another Jennifer Hudson style clean sweep. Despite my love/hate feelings for “No Country for Old Men” there is no denying he deserves it.
Here is the BIG problem with you guys..
#1 If you didn’t see all or most of the movies nominated, then you shouldn’t commenting because you will be making judgments!!
I saw all of the movies.
Daniel Day Lewis was right on.. So was Javier Bardem. And Ruby Dee definitely deserved it! She was amazing even though she didn’t have a huge part..
I would agree, American Gangster was way better as an ensemble..
You seriously have to be kidding me? When they gave Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin the SAG awards for Best Comedy Series I turned the channel. I have never seen so many useless pathetic actors in one place at the same time in my life. Tina Fey has and never will be funny and this just shows that sleeping your way up the chain still works. She has almost single handedly destroyed SNL as a writer and comedian. No one watches SNL anymore and it has become an outlet for Liberal unfunny talent. So what do you do? Hire the person for its destruction and give her a show. 30 ROCK has NO RATINGS NO ONE WATCHES IT. So how does it still receive awards? I could name a dozen other shows that didn’t even get mentioned that should have been acknowledged. SNL is owned by NBC and NBC owes 30 ROCK, get it now?? You scratch my back I scratch your back. Talk about Media monopolies. Don’t get mad at Enron and Wal-Mart get mad at NBC for its continuing production of crap. Nothing NBC produces anymore is entertaining or worth spending a minute of my busy life to watch, not even to DVR/TEVO it.
“No Country For Old Men” is just amazing. And Javier’s amazing too. Great actor, great person.
I’m from Spain, so I’m very happy to see him winning all this things in Hollywood. He will win the Oscar this year, I’m sure. And he totally deserves it.
Go, Javier!
