Tears for Spears - Britney Breaksdown
Britney Spears breaks down on the sidewalk on Friday, just outside her gated community in Los Angeles, Calif.
She left manager Sam Lufti’s car and after walking, sat down and started sobbing.
On Monday, Lufti was interviewed by Barbara Walters on “The View” and said the singer suffers from “mental issues” and has seen a psychiatrist.

Britney is one of the biggest stars of our generation. In years to come when people think of the era of cheesy pop music then they will remember Britney in her school uniform…. she is an icon! In 50 years nobody is going to remember Christina Aguilera or Rhiannon but Britney will go down in history… not because of her meltdown but because she is the face of manufactured pop!
She had the world at her feet and everybody adored her…. which is why I find it sad that people are now calling her an attention wh*re when she is obviously very ill! Why does she need to shave her head, get strapped to the back of an ambulance or sit on a pavement crying for attention?… she already had the world’s attention! Her music career was incredibly successful, she toured the world and peformed at the biggest events in showbiz, she had millions of adoring fans, she was on the cover of every magazine and hailed as one of the sexiest women on the planet…. she already had attention!
It is impossible for any of us to understand what it is like living in her shoes. She cannot walk up the street without dozens of camera men following her round and watching her every move. Imagine reaching the level of fame where you can’t even step out of your front door without being mobbed by the paparazzi. Anyone who she gets close to can potentially make thousands of pounds from her so it must be difficult for her to trust anyone.
Once the bad press started over K-Fed it completely snowballed and now the world is sitting around waiting for her to do something wrong…. no wonder the poor girl is going mad! It is disgusting what the media are allowed to get away with today and is a sickening reflection on the world today! Photos of a young girls mental decline are sold to the highest bidder and millions of people buy these magazines as they find her meltdown entertaining. People make a living off stalking her… that has got to be a head f**k! After what happened to Diana there should be some laws in place regarding the paparazzi and hopefully one day there will be but it seems as though it is too late for Britney!

And then you have to take into account that she has a history of drug abuse, which can also cause mental illness (chemical imbalance in the brain that lasts, even after the drug is out of the system).

Britney has been known to use X - in fact, when she got married the first time, her ex-husband came out and said she was using the night they got hitched in Vegas and then she almost OD’d. So yeah - IF she is mental (which I don’t believe she is, but for the sake of this conversation, we’ll go with that theory), it was caused by her drug use.

Seriously tenuous research, you need to have the predisposition to mental illness in the first place, that’s why some people can take drugs all their lives and never have a single medical issue caused by them. It’s a bio-genetic switch. Equally, drug use is actually a symptom of mental illness, many people turn to legal and illegal drugs as self-medication. You can’t simply assume that drug use causes mental illness, it is way more complex than that.
It’s pretty difficult to completely alter your brain chemistry on a permanent basis, not everyone who ODs becomes mentally ill, it’s just not like that. Kind of crass to make these huge assumptions. Statistically speaking, it’s far more probably she has a post par tum illness after having her last baby, that is more common, stress is a massive factor in that and she is certainly under huge amounts of stress. Equally I think I would go a bit batshit crazy if I had photographers following me everywhere, not a real friend in sight and a big custody battle going on.
You know 1 in 4 people will suffer from a mental illness at some time in their life, the odds are very high she is simply sick.
Someone needs to help Britney. The media should leave her alone. She’ll end up being the next Hollywood death by suicide. She needs to get cleaned up. Poster #27 I’ll pray that you will have a heart.

i’ve known some1 with post natal depression who had 2go2 the hospital everynite 4 bout 4 wks cos she thought she was going 2 die always having panic attack etc etc….. not sayin this is wot brit’s got but if it is and also other things then i feel 4 her it’s 1 thing 2 have it but to have it in the spot light is another ppl with normally don’t even realise thy have it. it is 1 of the worst things to have and u need help with either from a doc or family.
