Apparently Mya didn’t watch Alias because Michael Vartan came back for much longer than two episodes during the last episodes. People who just come on to these sites to play devil’s advocate are plain annoying.

Mya left because she was just wrong. There is no reason to stay when you have no way to back up your bullsh*t.

How can you honestly say that being married to Ben Affleck hasn’t given her name recognition? Just the mere names of Bennifer 1 and Affleck lit up the tabloids not so long ago plus the fact Affleck has many ties/connections within the industry. If you seriously think that Garner’s marriage to Affleck hasn’t introduced her to movie roles and popularity, then you’re giving far toooooo much credit to Garner’s role in Alias. If she had not married him and had Violet, she would be pounding the pavement like so many ex-TV stars do.

She had the title role in Alias (which, perhaps, YOU shouldn’t be so quick to dismiss as far as career advancement) which was created by JJ Abrams (with whom she is still friends). You might know him from a few little projects like Felicity - where she got her start, mind you - Lost and the number one film right now, Cloverfield, among others. If anything, making friends with HIM has done more for her career than anything. Strangely, she did not marry or date him. Hmmmm…

Anyway, not to get off track, but the name recognition was there before she got the role in Daredevil, where she MET Ben, and then got her title role in Elektra. I didn’t say that more people don’t know who she is now than before they finally got together, I’m just saying it hasn’t exactly done the wonders for her career that you seem to be implying it has.

Oh and I have to change one thing I wrote. Ben and Jen actuallly met on the set of Pearl Harbor and have known each other since then. So perhaps their attraction and friendship started long before Michael Vartan was ever in the picture and was one of those things.

You’re trying to tell me something about Alias as if I haven’t watched since day one and know just about everything there is to know about Alias and Garner’s love life and the fact that she and JJ are the best of buds. Puleeeeze, give me some credit. And Mya is absolutely right, she did cause Vartan to leave the show. And, yeah, he was called back but only because of the backlash from fans.

^^ You must not have listened to his last interview. He plainly said he wasn’t sure if he would ever be called back but was glad when he was since it was the last year for the series.

There’s nothing skewed about my opinion of her celebrity status. Simply put, she was and still is a B+ actress at best and was a B list celeb prior to Affleck. When she married, she became an A-list celeb because of who she married…her name is out there. The industry knows who she is. She doesn’t have to pound the sidewalks. This is what I meant by name recognition. Juno has probably moved her up a bit actress wise but that remains to be seen depending on her next projects. However, I doubt doing a film with Matthew M. will elevate her actress status much.

And just why do you think she kept her relationship with Vartan secret? If you can’t figure it out, then there’s no use in trying to explain it.

It was only intended for Vartan to return for the Horizon. As the backlash continued, they asked him to come back for at least 3-5 episodes depending on whether or not he returned to the States in time.

Oh now I wouldn’t go so far as to say she was all that private. Please think back to the Foley days. She told the world plenty about her relationship with Foley and whatnot. When she kept professing her undying love for him up to at least a month prior to the announced separation, only then did she suddenly start becoming “private.” In other words, her lack of privacy burned her.

Jen Garner had everything in the world to do with Vartan’s departure from Alias and whoever is saying she didn’t is only saying that because they don’t want to see her besmirched in the eyes of her devout fans or either being fed a blatant lie from a few select Alias insiders. She and one other person went behind MV’s back to have him written out and certainly weren’t expecting the backlash that occurred. Vartan knew what happened but is far too nice to ever convey what happened and why. He simply moved on but was delighted to be called back to finish up a series that he loved doing. As far as he and Garner remaining friends, let’s just say they are cordial to each other.

Garner seems to treat her ex’s badly, i.e. Scott Foley and Michael Vartan. I’m looking forward to when she and Affleck start to self-destruct. They deserve each other.
