Michelle Williams: Please Respect Our Privacy

Michelle Williams has given her first statement since the death of her former companion Heath Ledger.

In a statement released by Heath’s rep, Michelle said, “Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up with the best memories of him.”

It is sad she even had to put out this statement but since everyone is more interested in dollar signs and curiosity than decency…

I am pregnant, but that would have made me cry regardless of hormones. What a lovely statement. That Matilda sounds like an extraordinary girl.

I agree with Lauren. Heath would be very proud. God bless you Michelle and be strong.

IGNORING ALL THE BITTER PEOPLE ON HERE

That has got to be the most beautiful statement ever.

Michelle is a very smart and talented young woman. She and her daughter will be ok. You can tell that Heath was the love of her life.

I just read this article and it was so moving because Heath speaks of how much Michelle and Matlida meant to him. Poor guy, he wanted so much but without the price required.

“tINA” first of all, fix your caps lock, your screen name looks retarded like that. Second, I appreciate your sentiment, but do you realize that you’re on a CELEBRITY GOSSIP blog? WTF did you expect to find on here? You’re the only one comparing the importance of this man’s death to the reaction to the loss of anyone serving our country. It’s apples and oranges and judgemental to boot. I think you’re missing the point, dear. No one is saying that she deserves more than anyone else, the point is that everyone deserves the right to grieve privately and with some dignity.

Her press release is as beautiful as she appears to be and, yes, tears streamed down my cheeks. Many of the new souls born into this harsh world are entering through beautiful, sensitive people like Heath Ledger and Michelle Williams.

That is so beautifully said and heartbreaking. I have so much respect for Michelle, she’s a classy, beautiful, strong woman.

OT-I just want to say that during Dawson’’s Creek Katie Holmes was the breakout star, but Michelle Williams was th real gem who at first you don’t notice but then slowly discover how beautiful and gifted she is. Just adore her.

Tina dear - why are you here? You complain about people talking about celebrities on a CELEBRITY blog! LOL…get a clue. If you want to read about all the soldier’s wives who have to deal with their husband’s death, go leave your condolensces on CNN.com or abcnews.com. Get over yourself, love. There’s nothing wrong with people having empathy and compassion for other people’s pain.

sad but true. my heart goes out to michelle and matilda. love them. stay strong.

You/Me @ 2:39 pm.

Thank you for the link to that awesome article….it deserves to be picked up and printed by the press throughout the world!

It’s sad this beautiful soul was driven from the one place where he felt the greatest love and peace by the most ruthless of the paparazzi in his own country!

So terribly sad. I wish they would let them have their time. This is just a horrific time in her life and she needs to mourn with her child and his family. Leave Heath’s memory at peace. Let him be remembered as the kind soul he seemed to be.

how beautiful how touching how sweet how sad
i’am crying right now it’s so wonderful i feel so sorry for her and the sweet mathilda i wish her all the best and OF COURSE SHE STILL LOVES HIM
RIP HEATH we’ll never forget you you’ll be always in my heath
rip heath

I’m not sure which is more heartbreaking, Matilda growing up without seeing and talking and learning from her Dad, or Heath not being able to see her grow up.

#38 is not only bitter but angry at the world. You have no compassion for others and just wait until it’s your turn to grieve someone you love upon their death….only then perhaps will you get it. We feel pity for someone like you who has no heart or soul..just ugly thoughts.

Death sucks all around.

I think things would have worked out if Heath had cleaned up his act.. To the person who is bashing Michelle, grow up. She is, and was, protecting her child. She is not responsible for his death.

She’s a pretty lady. I remember her from that teen soap opera back in the day. I don’t remember her being so lovely. It’s horrendous to lose someone this way. Ugh. I can’t even bear the thought of it happening to someone I love.

Wow…That was a very touching and sweet tribute..

Amen Michelle.

GOT YOUR BACK GIRL!!

GOD BLESS!!

hold on, didn’t she leave him. the message is a bit OTT for an ex wife.

Poor lil girl, she hardly got to know him.

#38 BANG ON CORRECT!

shes not the first woman to lose a husband (ex?) and Matilda is not the first fatherless child in the world. get a grip you people. this happens everyday and probably to a person on a street near you.

your incessant fawnings over heath and his family is ridiculous and bordering on obsessive.
