Ellen Pompeo gets sandwiched between music exec husband Chris Ivery and supermodel Helena Christensen while sitting front row at the Y-3 Fall 2008 fashion show at Pier 40 during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Fall 2008 on Sunday in New York City.
Photographers went crazy trying to snap pictures of the trio but Pompeo handled the attention gracefully as always. NY Magazine reports, “Though we have never heard particularly favorable whispers about her temperament, we have to give credit where credit is due: In this situation, where b—-iness would not only be understood but probably justified, Pompeo remained downright pleasant and even gave a huge smile and greeting to the PR person frantically trying to find her a seat.”
If you didn’t know, Y-3 is iconic Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto’s collaboration with Adidas sportswear.

i am really upset and disappointed with this newpaper for writing such a bad thing about ellen. so the attack is now not on meredith but on ellen? i just dont get it…..what exactly did she do to deserve this. I hate shonda for making half of the fan hating this piece of jewel. beside why isnt dempsey attacked? he missed both KW and KH’s wedding.

First of all let me start with that article, that is based on false facts. the writer obviously doesn’t know the show, probably never saw it and has no clue about anything regarding these actors and their lives. and for her to shift her character bashing to the real actors is a real low move that means this writer has nothing to really write about. besides its a tabloid from south africa. no one really cares.
Second: Garbage??? I don’t think so. I know for a fact 22 million viewers agree with me. plus Ellen Pompeo carried the show on her shoulders from the start when it was all about Meredith and her life. She hooked those 22 million with the help of her costars which was very minimal at the beginning when we were being introduced to Meredith.
I really feel bad for you. you are soo jealous and have no social life or probably any life for that matter that you waste your time writing about shows you hate. really…. get a life. And simply, stay away from what you hate. it’s really easy. or even better, don’t hate. because seriously, Karmas a *****….

Meredith to a tee. Ellen is unlucky to play her. But it’s no surprise news. Greys strength has always been the supporting actors & characters with Meredith being the weakest.
Ellen’s not Greys best actor. She played the same role on Moonlight Mile too which suggests her acting range is extremely limited. She must be lucky she has a job on Greys.
ADAM - you must be watching another show. Where is Ellen’s Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG awards ? Nope, the supporting cast steals the limelight from her. Yet again !
Patrick Dempsey is the hook for the majority of the viewers - ie. teenage girls & middle-aged housewives. Ellen plays Cindrella to his Prince Charming.

It appears the writer really has no idea about the show. from what she wrote it seems she saw a couple of episodes and decided to write about it to gain front page cover because its a hit show. and to earn even more, she told false things, nothing is a true fact. she said Mcdreamy did drugs!!!!!! WHAT???!?!?! doesn’t she understand the concept of being addicted. she heard the word and jumped to drugs…. really. anyone who watches greys knows that article is a ridiculous attempt at gaining front page place. and the fact that she jumped to the conclusion that Ellen doesn’t go out with her cast mates… seriously??? with all her pics with Eric dane, her pics with Katherine heigl, sandra oh.. Ellen is an amazing actress, as curious said, she is acting Meredith as Meredith should be. plus Shonda Rhimes picked Ellen from moonlight mile because she wanted Meredith to be like that wise guy, thats what shonda herself said. if you watch Ellens other parts in all her movies and roles, you will know how amazing she is. if you don’t like it.. then stop talking about it. its easy really. we love the show and we love Meredith and we adore Ellen. you don’t. that’s fine… don’t write at her threads.

The wonderful thing is that Ellen has her full cast behind her. she has Shonda Rhimes betsy bears and everyone on ABC supporting her. ABC insisted she sign for 7 seasons this year, she is signed even if the show ends. they still want her there. thats huge. I want to see her in movies this summer… I really hope so. every summer she promotes Grey’s abroad. I hope she gets to do movies this time.

Ellen is the lead of the show. she is handed the biggest responsibility of promoting the show. in an article printed here in italy almost 1 year ago. Shonda was saying that ABC and Grey’s themselves put extra preassure on Ellen than any other cast member, regarding her appearances on talk shows or interviews, for the show promotion. something along that line. I thought that they might be a bit strict about having their lead go and star in other movies, but it turned out he can. and she said she’s being attracted to any scripts shes getting.
I don’t blame her really.
she’s worked so hard to get where she is now. shes not a 20 year old with a bran new career. She left home at age 17 went to new york, worked in bar tending and modeling a bit till she got her first gig in 3 commercials in one day, when an agent came into the bar she worked at and asked her is she was an actress and that how it began. she was late twenties or early thirties then. she said once, she barely had money to pay rent. she had a boyfriend, the photographer Rosenthal they lived together for 10 years, until she moved to LA and they split up.
by the way he lives in LA as well now., only one year after she met Chris. so generally she had a tough life and worked so hard and now she has her own show. a mega hit show and shes knows world wide and loved everywhere. I can understand if she chooses not to go into movies, specially if she starts considering having a family now.

I read this article this morning, I was like “who is he talking about?” because EP definitely doesn’t respond to that description!!!
A/ She has a great friendship with the cast : I think she’s one of the rare who socialize with almost all the cast KH, PD, TR, SO, ED…
She was at KH’s wedding but she threw her a party and EP was on her honeymoon! And she was invited at KW’s wedding like PD, ED, SO or Private Practice’s cast.
B/ The show is named “Grey’s Anatomy”, she’s Meredith GREY, did this article was based on a poll to establish that Meredith is the character the most hated.
This article is a shame and uncalled, and he calls himself a journalist, he’s a garbage!!!
Ellen Pompeo always receives endless compliments from people who work with her or meet her, she’s simple, she doesn’t put her private life ahead, that what disturbs people, we don’t really know her and yet she has respect, admiration and fascination!!!

Hi guys, I come from France and here she’s really loved, I was at the Armani’s show, and when her and her husband arrived, we were all so existed, her entrance was the most expected!!!!
She was very kind, she took photos, signed autographs, tried to speak french, she was so cute, she was very accessible!!!!
I don’t know why in USA she has such detractors but her she’s very appreciate!!!

thks Adam for the info…i also read somewhere that she was a very sad teenager. she said she has everyone but the one person she really needed meaning her mom. said she doesnt want to talk about it. her dad remarried too soon after her mom died, but she never said anything about what happened. so she goes from this relation to that relation on holidays.
did you guys know her dad married three times. here mom, who dies when Ellen was 4, them remarried real fast after, she wasn’t very nice to Ellen, (who was the youngest 4 years old, her other 5 sisters and brothers all from 8 to 16 years older than Ellen) then he divorced her and married the one i think he still with now, not sure though.
must have been tough for him to raise 6 kids on his own, i think thats why with the shock and sadness and overwhelming death he remarried really quickly.
