Jordin Sparks Sings The National Anthem
American Idol champ Jordin Sparks (in Dolce & Gabbana) performs “The Star-Spangled Banner (National Anthem)” during the pre-game show prior to the start of Super Bowl XLII on Sunday at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Jordin is the daughter of ex-Giant player Phillippi Sparks and must have joined in on the celebration as the Giants completed an exciting win over the New England Patriots!
When asked what she thought of her performance, Jordin said she was a “very, very, very happy” girl.

I heard somewhere that everyone who sings the national anthem at the super bowl have to lip-sync it… im just saying
she’s good but i just dont liek her facial expressions when she sings….no matter what song she sings…it’s just does not look good
She killed it!! It was one of the best!!!!
I don’t know whether anyone here has heard the Whitney Houston (pre “crack is wack” days), star spangled version 10 or more years back… Unbelievable!

i love her and her voice, but she was lip synching you can see she is alittle late in some verses.
She was absolutely lip syncing. As I watched it last night, it was pretty obvious to me. I thought it was a big disappointment. Why was that decision made? I mean, she’s 17 years old. She sang live every week on American Idol. Was this just TOO BIG an opportunity for her to feel confident in pulling it off “live”? What a waste of a perfect chance to do her thing in her hometown. I like her, and think she has a very good voice, which is why I’m even more disappointed that she didn’t sing live.
One thing I get so tired of hearing is about how people choose to arrange the song. I am all for the performer making it their own vs doing it the same f’in way it was originally recorded. As long as the words are the same is all that matters to me. There are certainly some renditions I like better than others, but I have no problem with using a little bit of uniqueness and originality.
Yup, Whitney Houston about 10 something year ago was the ultimate best ever anthem performance. Jordin was great too. Some people seem to have forgotten she is just 18 years old. yeah, she is a singer, she has voice. but performing at such a venue at 18. I am just glad she did not make a mistake.

jordin is a curvy, sexy woman. Hey, AJ you must be one of those flat assed, bag of bones to be jealous of real womaly bodies. don’t be jealous, I think some go for flat asses.
It is easy for people to say I don’t like her face twitching, hand movements etc.etc. Anyone who ever sang with emotion knows that twitching etc. is expressing those aroused emotions. Especially the anthem, people get emtionally involved.
I must admit, I was disappointed with he performance. I thought she could have done much better, but I’m sure she was really nervous.

Jordan did a superb job of singing the National Anthem! She’s a credit to the young generation and is a great role model for young girls.

she was lip syncing but she was still actually singing. her mic was just turn off. they do that all the time. but i would think that she is good enough to sing it totally live.

I would think the singer would have to lip sync and its probably a requirement that they record prior to the show. What if they messed it up entirely and ran off…or worse got Roseann Barr to sing it!! Remember that fiasco?

She killed it… lip synching or not… Jordin was amazing… Easy to criticize when you have never sung live to a crowd of 70K+ or a TV audience of more than 94 million people… You go girl!!!
I think you guys are all idiots. She did AMAZING. It’s usually boring and slow EVERY YEAR but she did it normal with great vocals. I don’t think she was lip synching. And even if she was, that was her voice so she’s amazing period.
