Idina, 36, is best known for her performances as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in the Tony award-winning musical Wicked and as Maureen Johnson in the Broadway and film versions of Rent. She also celebrates her fifth-year wedding anniversary with actor Taye Diggs next Monday!

I love Idina! I saw her in Wicked in London and love her in the movie Rent and Enchanted! She has a really unique voice, and I think that it’s amazing that she wrote all but one song on this album!

but……….
there is just something disgustingly compromising about pop/mainstream that camouflages just how amazing an artist truly is. i hope she’ll succeed, but this, for me, is one of those awkward attempts that betray the love of old time devotees and cannot quite lure in the new fans.
