Russell Crowe is in a State of Play

Really - because the last four years mr C has looked like he lived on a strict diet of whiskey, bear, cigarettes, hamburgers, chips, and cookies, combined with a lot of really late and hard nights out and about lol lol lol!

Russell in a new pic! Whoo! He is incredibly talented. I love his films. I also enjoy his singing!

I wonder what his looks have to do with his acting performance. It’s the latter one that counts. I can only agree with those reminding of his earlier performances (Insider…) where he didn’t have problems putting on and losing weight. On the other hand it is also true that such things will get harder the older he gets.
If some here are talking of being ‘natural’ that’s what I love about him, too. He doesn’t pretend. He doesn’t play the Hollywood game - being handsome in order to being appreciated as an actor isn’t that important to him. Neither it should be to us.

I just saw him last week in Jacksonville & he did not look old or fat. True, he’s not as thin as he used to be, but he looked good. I think alot of the the look in those pictures are for the movie

When are these women going to stop embarrassing themselves over him? This is sad.

Fact is he was once a very attractive man. He isn’t anymore. I’m sure it’s a combination of bad genes and Russell’s own abuse of his body. Unfortunately Marlon Brando was also quite gorgeous. We saw what happened to Marlon. I see that same fate for Russell. Shame.

Sweetie, that’s some grand delusion you got going there. Russell in his best years can’t touch Brad Pitt as he is now at 44. Pitt is simply classically handsome and still has the body of Adonis.

Uh he had to gain weight for his role in Body Of Lies! You people act like he’s just being fat and lazy ugh Russell is very athletic and active but he said when he was promoting American Gangster that Ridley begged hiim to gain a lot of weight to play an fat, obnoxious person and people have come up to him and he’s had to explain that’s why he looks the way he does at the moment. lol.

He just shot that movie before State of Play. He was even BIGGER for that role. Now he is slowly taking it off and by the next film he does with Ridley he is going to take a lot more weight off. This is what Rusell does. He gains weight and loses it depending on how the director wants the character to look. Anyway I think Russell is way more sexy than Brad Pitt any day. And a much better actor.

And despite his much publicized flare ups, I like him he seems real and a devoted family man. And I like how unlike Brad and Angelina and the others he gives tons of money to charities all over the world but doesn’t go out of his way to publicize it. He’s a good man, Russell. Anyone remember his beautiful Oscar speech?

I agree. If Russell gain weight for Body Lies (very small role) Why he don’t lose this weight for SOP? His role don’t need to be fat.

After reading some hate fuled comments regarding Russell Crowe and his appearace, I can’t help but wonder what you people look like? If you were in fact born with a brian you might step back and analyze your thought process. First of all, Russell is making a movie and the visionaries for this movie may have wanted Russell to have long hair and carry extra weight. Looking back to Gladiator, he lost weight and built his body to portray a Roman General, a boxer in Cinderella Story, In Mystery Alaska he had a little extra because that is what happens to people in cold climates in addition to the fact he was a hockey player. By nature, hockey players are not small men. Futher more he lives in Austrailia, 17 time zones away and about 16 hours by air, he has to adapt to Jet Lag, Airline meals, noisy airplane cabins, lack of fresh air, Russell is a public figure and he has to deal with papparazi, unimanageable hotel concens including broken telephones, fans trying to gain access to his suit, long long working days, food on the run, set catering and alike. If you profess to be true Crowe fans then I suggest you look inside your heart and embrasse his art either through acting or music. I find Russell to be a brilliant artist and through his charitable soul and causes I am a better person knowing I stand for honor. He paid to rebuild the Jewish childrens school that was fire bombed in Toronto, if you find reason to loath him, then ultimately, you loath yourself.
