Sounds like he was just desperate for some sleep. So tragic.

It is so sad to know, that he felt he needed those prescription pills - all six and perhaps more…

Lola - If he wanted to commit suicide he would just take A BOTTLE OF JUST ONE DRUG ******* - not a combination like this. The bottles werent empty when they were found in his apartment. Obviously he took pills for sleeping and pain, and sometimes when u take these drugs on a regular basis they fail to work so u think if u take more and more it will help, it dosent. I KNOW BECAUSE IT HAPPENED TO ME but I am alive, Heath was unlucky. SO SHUT THE **** UP ABOUT SUICIDE U WANKER.

The Medical Examiner said the “cumulative effect” that means over time, not all at once! And If Heath was working in London and he was in need of a doctor, they would give him a prescription. Then he was in NYC, then he was working in Chicago before all that. So when you travel for periods of time and you aren’t feeling well, then you get different docs and different prescriptions. And if you had meds in London, but you forgot to pack them, well it’s not hard to figure out how he would get so many prescriptions. My heart just aches!!! So very sad. Our beautiful Heath just wanted to rest. All the haters who said he was a dope addict should all die!!! He was NOT a cocaine/heroin addict. He never was.

I once took valium for muscle spasms, it is a muscle relaxer. Then at night I would take a sleeping pill, too. That could have been me!

I do believe it was a accident.People dont know exact composition of pills they take.
Same like with painkillers, people take 3-4 different pills and than they are surprised with paracetamol overdose.

Of course it may have 6 different medicines but several doctors; Heath said in an interview that medicines were not much effect because he slept only 2 hours per night.

He was taking medication to sleep because he was insomniac
and was tired of sleeping so little.

Taking several medications don’t want to commit suicide, that is not the number the problem is the mix, there was an interaction and it has not supported

He was in the process of turning, and he asked his masseuse to come the next day, when you want to commit suicide, there is no program a rdv

fyi lots people love their families but also commit suicide. why are you guys saying ‘oh he loved his daughter so he can’t have committed suicide’ what kind of insane logic is that?

thousands kill themselves everyday and have loved ones too. when youre depressed you live in a bubble and you can’t think straight and cant help being selfish and remain stuck in a viscious self-hating cycle until one day you decide it has to stop. while some commit suicide to make the pain stop, others reach out for help from friends/family and professionals

For this reason I tend to agree with others who are suggesting suicide. it makes sense. nobody can be that stupid to mix those drugs together unintentionally.

lola: quite right. I don’t and never have done drugs but I have know guys who did. In some cases, they used prescription drugs, but would simply take a mixed handful of lots of them at once “to see what happens.” I would guess (only that) that Ledger did not intend to die, but rather hoped a lot of painkillers, etc., etc. taken at once would put him out for some time and give him some “rest”. This kind of carelessness is typical of people who habitually abuse drugs of all sorts. On the other hand, it is conceivable that he did it on purpose hoping to commit suicide for some arcane reason we can only guess about.

Heath Ledger’s death has been ruled an accident and the result of the abuse of prescription medications, according to the medical examiner.

The toxicology report says Heath died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine.

The five different medications found in Heath’s apartment after his death included three anti-anxiety medications Alprazolam (Xanax), Diazepam (Valium) and Lorazepam (Ativan), the sleeping medication Zopiclone (Lunesta) and the sedative Temazepam (Restoril).

Ledger’s father is quoted as saying: “”While no medications were taken in excess,…” Come on now, pops. Taking six different types of mood altering drugs at once is sure “excess”. You are trying to spin this thing to make it look as if Heath was innocent. No person in his right mind would take six mood altering drugs at once.

Anyone who has ever taken prescription drugs knows that you do not mix them with other prescription drugs, and you definitely don’t take five different drugs at a time, unless prescribed by your doctor. And obviously no doctor would give you a combination of lethal drugs. I’m not saying it’s a suicide, but it’s unlikely that a mistake that large could have been made by a doctor. Anyways, RIP Heath Ledger.

no, taking 6 of any pills isn’t dangerous. a close friend of mine had cancer and he had to take way more medication than that per day. it’s about how they react in your body.

Also, there was no suicide note found, which is uncommon considering he had a little girl. Nor were any of the drugs found anti-depressants.

I agree with you. Just b/c you take 6 pills doesnt mean you are trying to commit suicide. My mom and dad take a bunch of pills b/c they have heart problems,high blood pressure, thyroid problems and etc and they arent trying to kill themselves. I knew his death was a result of the pills counter reaction to each other. Just some pills you cannot mix with other meds. This wasn’t a suicide people.

#26, cancer patients have suppressed immune systems. The meds are also carefully prescribed and monitored. #77, your parents need those medications to correct their health problems. Heath Ledger was a 28 year old man, with seemingly no major health problems. That is the difference. There was no reason he should have been taking all those different kinds of medications, which are basically prescription narcotics. It’s also very possible he took more than 1 of each pill at a time.

I feel bad that he is gone, how horrible. Once again how come no one seemed to know he was having all these problems. The true victim her is his little girl matilda. I hope her mom is strong enough because she is gonna need it. Very sad and unfortunate
