Heath Ledger’s Family Responds

Heath Ledger’s father, Kim, just released a statement on behalf of the Ledger family in response to the Medical Examiner’s findings:

“We remain humble as parents and a family, among millions of people worldwide who may have suffered the tragic loss of a child. Few can understand the hollow, wrenching, and enduring agony parents silently suffer when a child predeceases them. Today’s results put an end to speculation, but our son’s beautiful spirit and enduring memory will forever remain in our hearts. While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy. Heath’s accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage.

“Our family enjoyed an extremely happy two week visit with Heath just prior to the New Year. Those recent precious days will stay with us forever. We as a family feel privileged to have some of his amazing magic moments captured in film. To most of the world Heath was an actor of immeasurable talent and promise. To those who knew him personally, Heath was a consummate artist whose passions also included photography, music, chess and directing. We knew Heath as a loving father, as our devoted son, and as a loyal and generous brother and friend.

“We treasure our beautiful granddaughter Matilda (to our dear Michelle) as well as an unbelievably wonderful network of close friends, forever, around the world. Families rarely experience the uplifting, warm and massive outpouring of grief and support as have we, from every corner of the planet. This has deeply and profoundly touched our hearts and lives. We are eternally grateful.

“At this moment we respectfully request the worldwide media allow us time to grieve privately, without the intrusions associated with press and photography.”

On that note, and while we have a moment of silence from the cheap seats, I’ll say good night Kiddos. Keep having fun with Didi, she’ s been a great distraction from a horrendous work day.

That’s so sad.. My heart goes out to his family especially Matilda and Michelle.

RIP Heath Ledger.

Come out of the dark didi and into the light!!!!

Ha! is schizo posting again. typing in caps doesn’t make the trolling message distinctive. You need help. You should go see the same therapist who was treating Anna Nicole, Brad Renfro and Heath Ledger. I hear he has a good success rate.

DIDI, HA! IS A FIGMENT OF YOUR IMAGINATION…. ISN’T TIME FOR YOU TO PLAY OUTSIDE… COMPUTER TIME SHOULD BE OVER IN THE LOONY FARM RIGHT?!?!? LOL

To my fans

Thank you for all your kind wishes and expressions of love today. i too share in the loss of junkie heath. he was a fine actor and a fine customer for drug dealers everywhere. its not his fault that he liked to abuse cocaine, heroin, marijuana, crystal meth not to mention the entire dispensary stock at Wallgreens pharmacy. Junkie scum have feelings too and should be respected.
Thank you for not upsetting any junkie heath fans.

Your Idol
Didi.

Doctors, always ask you “are you taking any medications and what are they” before they prescribe you any medications. They do this for a reason, because mixing medications can be lethal.

enough is enough @ 02/06/2008 at 7:13 pm

Doctors make mistakes in prescribing medications all the time even when they know what you are taking. They just don’t bother to read the file…after all, time is money. It’s true. Doctors are only fallible human beings, not gods, computers or saints. Fortunately, not too many people die as a result. You can bet your life that all the doctors that have prescribed Heath’s meds in the last year, are scrambling to see what is in their records about his treatment, etc.

I got a word of advice to all who genuinely mourn Heath Ledger here…
stop feeding the troll. You ALL look like fools. Try to find some dignity.
I’ve seen five year olds with more maturity than some here.

Didi, the only fan you have is you….

A beautiful, poignant and heartbreaking statement from the Ledger family has, on this thread, denegrated into a thread centering around Didi.

Hey DIDI…..we get it B*I*T*C*H……you hate Heath….so stay the fcuk off his threads you fcuking C*U*N*T.

You are savage, vile, filthy, ugly, cruel, vicious, vindictive and nasty. And these are your good points. If this is what you are REALLY like in reality, then you will one day, die a very sad and lonely death. And you certainly won’t be missed. I think you already know this you bitter piece of dog sh*t.

His father’s words were poignant… i feel & relate to his abysmal pain & suffering. Deepest condolences to HL’s family & loved ones… If any comfort then love lives truly, eternally in one’s heart.

We should all be feeling sorry for Didi because she obviously doesn’t have any love in her life.

She is just a reject of society.

She obviously has some serious issues that need addressing but she doesn’t have anyone who loves her enough to encourage her to get help.

She is a vicious little b*tch who hides behind the anonymity of the internet. It’s her 15 minutes of fame when she stirs so many people up on these threads. She loves it and revels in it. It’s the only time peolpe acknowledge her. She is invisible to real people in the real world. She is ignored and that is why she has so much built up angst and frustration. So she lashes out and takes it out on other posters on these threads. She desperately needs some form of interaction and the only way she can get it is by being a vicious little cow on the net.
It is just a forum for her to spew her hate and vitriol. She knows she can do that without having her head caved in.

Nasty little c*nt.

I never once thought it was an OD on illegal drugs. I am glad that it has finally been confirmed that it was an accidental overdose on prescriptives. I think his doctors should be charged with prescribing Heath so many types of drugs. No wonder the poor bugger didn’t feel well.

RIP Heath

All that filth from Didi is just a cry for attention.

Ever sine becoming a mum I have only one overriding ambition - that my 3 kids bury me. My heart oges out to them and to Matilda who will miss outon her obviously doting dad. So sad - such a waste of a great talent. i don’t drnk or take drugs but understand how this can happen without him being a druggie. I had my money on sleep apnea being involved but it is even more scary because it is actually easy to do easily if you are being tortured by insomnia. He was telling the world he couldn’t sleep. Read this article “Drugs that killed Heath Ledger Could be In Your Home” http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,328926,00.html So I went and had a look around my house. I have every one of them - the last one ‘doxylamine’ is in Mersyndol and Dozile - Some are prescription and some are not. They are speculating no one doctor would have prescribed them all but it happens over time. The opiates were contained in cough mixtures and pain killers. It is well documented he had the flu and he self medicated - something that is very easy to do without a drug problem. I am SOOOOOOO anti anti depressants - almost agree with the Scientologists on that - the human psyche is so strong and recovers but it doesn’t recover when it is masked by anti depressants. Perhaps short term after a big crisis ok but just to get the brain’s chemicals back into balance Also I know from experience a side effect of anti-depressants is sleep disturbance and I know the sleeping tablets don’t fix it. So say he’s on anti depressants - been on them for while. The sleep disturbance is really driving him crazy so he takes sleeping tablets (which I know doctors will prescribe whilst you are on anti deprressants). He has the flu so the cough mixture and has a migraine from the lack of sleep/flu stress of it all and voila a life snuffed out. You do it - you get to sleep and get over the headache but because it worked you do it again the next headache. You just want to sleep and get out of pain. The thing is that your body gets accustomed to the sleep inducing effects of these drugs so you take higher doses but even though they aren’t working as well they are still depressing the central nervous system and depress it enough and you are dead. Sure pills are the easy way but the doctors try to get you to take them. I know someone who went to a doctor for some advice on slowing down their drinking and the first thing he did was prescribe anti-depressants -the patient thought it was crazy and threw away the script but it is an all too easy roller coaster to get on. My dad went to the Chemist once to get a script filled and as she knew him she knew the BP tablets he was on and said “You can’t have these they are lethal with your BP tablets”. The doctor who prescribed them was very lucky the pharmacist had a brain. The saddest part is that if he had woken and realised he was in trouble or the masseuse had come an hour earlier he would be alive and well. So beware but also I have found the absolute cure all - no more headaches, no more insomnia and its drinking 2-3litres of water a day - dehydration causes heaps of problems.

Only have one overall ambition that my 3 kids bury me. This is so sad and such a waste of a life - as is the death of any 28 yr old. Sorry wondered where my comment went didn’t realise there were all these pages

Beautiful statement. I am very sorry for this family. They seem to be great and loving people.
I pray for them and for Michelle and Matilde.
I miss You Heath.
RIP!!!!

A very moving statement. My heart goes out to Heath’s family and especially his parents. Words cannot describe the gut wrenching pain you experience when you lose a child. My prayers go out to this family.

One expert said that mixing a half dozen prescription drugs that way is like playing Russian roulette.
With a bullet in every chamber.
Ledger made great demands on his heart — romantically, professionally, personally, physically. And in the end, his heart said “No.”
