Angelina Jolie is a Helmet Head

Angelina Jolie arrives by plane and makes her way into the Green Zone in Baghdad, Iraq on Thursday.

The U.N. Goodwill Ambassador had lunch with American soldiers and voiced her opinion and listened to the ideas of others in day-long meetings. Jolie appealed on Thursday for more international help for the millions of Iraqis displaced internally and abroad, U.N. officials said.

And that comment right there is probably why they are keeping their pregnancy under wraps right now…it’s not as if she’s 8 months pregnant and flew over there. I’m sure if she didn’t feel physically up to it or her pregnancy was hi-risk she wouldn’t have gone.

I think she left already.

For the Week of February 7, 2008

The Aquarium Age is a report on the general astrological patterns of the coming week for all signs, not just Aquariums.

Pluto in Capricorn, Part Two

This week, quakes, major and minor, continue to tilt daily life toward the extreme. You could say, “There’s a whole lotta shakin’ goin’ on.” But you could just as easily say, “Welcome to Pluto in Capricorn” where a shift in astro gravity is making the world’s wobble highly visible. For some, Pluto’s new view is breathtaking and its vista reveals infinite possibilities. For others—maybe even most of us—the change from one planetary perspective to another is downright disconcerting, and the struggle to maintain a good attitude through the midst of this powerful transition is taking its toll. Whether it’s training a puppy, managing a mortgage, soothing a restless teenage spirit, or simply feeling confident about your choices, getting through the day feels like hard work. And it is. But keep in mind, while the intensity of this new pattern is edgy, Pluto in Capricorn isn’t negative. What’s difficult about this transition is the uncertainty about what lies ahead.

Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, and both symbolize structure—they both get down to the bones of things, and their appreciation of essence often translates into an ability to remove the superfluous in order to reveal the necessary. When that precision is wielded without skill, it can manifest as harsh critique—it’s the voice of the judge who only speaks in the dualistic language of right and wrong, a tone that turns Capricorn’s ability to see the “flaw” into an air of superiority. When the discernment of Capricorn is tempered by experience, that very same ability to cut to the chase with exacting precision becomes the capacity for compassion, as well as an opportunity for the critic to become the student and/or the teacher.

The capacity for discernment is just one of the areas Pluto will focus on during its sixteen-year transit through Capricorn, and because all of us have Capricorn somewhere in our birth charts, all of us are likely to face this challenge somewhere in our lives. From a collective perspective, Pluto in Capricorn is likely to reveal false foundations and corrupt cores. And because Capricorn governs corporations and organizations, Pluto will probe the skeletal structure of institutions, particularly institutions that no longer serve. But as always, the efficacy of Plutonian transformation is dependent upon our capacity to be agents of change. Fortunately, Capricorn is a Cardinal Earth sign and has no problem moving into action as necessary.

This week, as high anxiety continues to tax nervous systems, make every effort to find healthy solutions to the stress. Meditate, exercise, be creative—do whatever it is you do to maintain your center. Focus on what’s positive, and when possible, help others to do the same. Remember, we create the future one moment at a time through our thoughts, words, and deeds.

She doesn’t look pregnant at all. Rumour as always…
Yeah she will certainly go to Iraq if she was pregnant, right…

Hiya–LuckyL,carolina, soopx, tabitha, susieqt, amelia, RachelSun, Faye88 and all of the BAMPZS fans (((hugs and kisses))) …

pregnant women are not disabled, they can still do so many things. she traveled when she was expecting shiloh. you could fall in your own home while you are pregnant, you just have to be careful wherever you go and whatever you do. she knows to be careful and she is a very smart woman.

Compare to the bullet-proof vest she worn when she visited Iraq six months ago. she is much bigger now. She IS pregnant and could be twins.

Jolie’s Baghdad Visit Goes A-List
Thursday February 7 3:48 PM ET

Note to world leaders: Next time you need instant access to foreign dignitaries and top military brass, forget the usual protocols. Just send in Angelina Jolie.

Hollywood’s globe-trotting leading lady swooped into Baghdad on Thursday to highlight the plight of Iraqi refugees, gaining an audience with Gen. David Petraeus, the top U.S. commander in Iraq, and Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, the American Embassy said.

On her mission as a U.N. goodwill ambassador, Jolie also met with Iraqi migration officials to stress that there needs to be a coherent plan for the more than 2 million internally displaced Iraqis who are beginning to trickle back to their homes amid a recent lull in violence.
There’s lots of goodwill and lots of discussion, but there seems to be just a lot of talk at the moment,” Jolie said in excerpts of an interview aired on CNN.

Jolie mingled with American troops during lunch at a dining facility in the heavily guarded Green Zone, which houses the embassy and Iraqi government offices. She grabbed a red plastic tray at the mess hall, collected her lunch and sat at a long banquet table to eat her fork tines down, of course as flashbulbs from soldiers’ digital cameras lit up the wall behind her.

During the CNN interview, Jolie said the fate of Iraq will have an impact on the Middle East for years to come.

“And a big part of what it’s going to affect,” she said, “is how these people are returned and settled into their homes and their community and brought back together and whether they can live together and what their communities look like.”

If she is really pregnant, couldn’t UN send another place at Iraq instead of her?she looked absolutly tired in CNN’s interview, all these things are dangerous for kid/kids.

hope she will come back safty and rest for the rest of week.there is always danger of miscarriage.she should take care of herself better,If she wants to have healthy kid/kids.

#21 what exactly do you think Angelina is doing for humanity?? she goes to some in need country for a few days then takes off. how is that helping? big deal, she got it some press then left.
she needs to worry about her kids she keeps bouncing around.

Greetings JP fans!!
I was thinking about the scum of paps following celebrities. I know there is a cry for new laws, why can’t we use the current laws to the fullest. There is a law about stalking celebs since the tv star of “mindy and mork was murdered by a stalker. Why can’t they use that law to stop the paps from stalking until another specific law can be enacted?

On the subject of using current laws to be used while specific laws are enacted, can’t the FBI investigate threats made to children such as in the baby of Charles Lindberg being kidnapped and killed be used to turn up the heat on all publications of any threat?
God protect all children and that includes the children of war.

Peace

Jolie’s Baghdad Visit Goes A-List

BAGHDAD (AP) — Note to world leaders: Next time you need instant access to foreign dignitaries and top military brass, forget the usual protocols.

Jolie mingled with American troops during lunch at a dining facility in the heavily guarded Green Zone, which houses the embassy and Iraqi government offices. She grabbed a red plastic tray at the mess hall, collected her lunch and sat at a long banquet table to eat — her fork tines down, of course — as flashbulbs from soldiers’ digital cameras lit up the wall behind her.

During the CNN interview, Jolie said the fate of Iraq will have an impact on the Middle East for years to come.

“And a big part of what it’s going to affect,” she said, “is how these people are returned and settled into their homes and their community and brought back together and whether they can live together and what their communities look like.”

Angelina Jolie calls for aid to refugees on Iraq visit
6 hours ago

BAGHDAD (AFP) — UN goodwill ambassador and Hollywood megastar Angelina Jolie visited Iraq on a humanitarian mission on Thursday and met top officials to demand help for people displaced by the war.

A scheduled press conference at the US embassy was cancelled, but the Oscar-winning actress gave an interview to CNN in which she said she wanted more to be done for Iraqi families driven from their homes.

“There are over two million displaced people and there never seems to be a real coherent plan to help them,” she said.

“There’s lots of goodwill and lots of discussion but there seems to be a lot of talk at the moment and a lot of pieces that need to be put together.”

The US embassy said Jolie travelled to Baghdad with Under Secretary of State for Global Affairs Paula Dobriansky “to discuss US humanitarian relief efforts for internally displaced persons and conflict victims.”

The trip, a statement said, is a follow-up to a visit by Jolie to the region six months ago and marks a “mission to support and implement joint solutions to assist Iraqi’s displaced population.”

The statement added that Jolie also met Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari and Immigration and Refugees Minister Abdel Samad Rahman Sultan.

She had lunch with American troops serving in Iraq after earlier meeting their top commander, General David Petraeus.

The actress also held talks in Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone with UN head of mission Staffan di Mistura and met a group of internally displaced people.

“Of the two million internally displaced, it’s estimated 58 percent are under 12 years old. It’s a very high number of people in a very, very vulnerable situation and a lot of young kids,” Jolie told CNN.

“So far, the different US officials I met with and different local people I’ve met with all have shared concerns, very, very strongly. They have spoken out about the humanitarian crisis, but there seems to be a block in.

“I don’t have the answers, but I know this is one thing that needs to be addressed and solved. (There needs) to be a real presence here to help count the people and register the people,” she added.

The actress, most famous for her roles in Hollywood hits “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” and “Mr and Mrs Smith,” said she would urge US and Iraqi officials to provide better security for UN refugee agency workers.

Currently the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has been unable to mount widespread aid operations within Iraq because of the daily violence that has wracked the country during its five-year-old war.

Jolie became a volunteer for the United Nations goodwill programme in 2001. She has campaigned on behalf of Iraqi refugees and has visited Iraq before.

In August 2007, she met some of the 1,200 Iraqis stranded on the border between Iraq and Syria and appealed for more international support for those affected by the conflict.

During that tour, Jolie left UNHCR officials to visit privately with US and other multinational forces based in the area.

The following month she launched a 150-million-dollar appeal by UNICEF, the UN’s fund for children, and the UNHCR to help educate one million children affected by the war.

Hi guli and all BAMPZS fans.
Isn’t it ashame that the most sexist comments are coming from women or girls? The same arguments were always used in the past, as a mother you shouldn’t do this as a mother you shouldn’t do that. What your a mother and your in the army, you could be deployed. What your a mother and you are an international aide worker. How dare you.

Mothers are doing dangerous jobs in dangerous places all the time. Ms. Jolie has more protection than most of them and she is not staying. Like someone said on the other thread. I am sure those 5 women killed in a Lane Bryant never thought they were going to a dangerous palce that day.

The people whining how Angelina is putting the baby in danger sound stupid. Just because she’s pregnant doesn’t mean she has to stay in bad for 9 months. Women are able to and have the right work. Celebrities film, perform concerts, ect while pregnant. Nobody called Halle Berry or Jennifer a bad mother when they did publicity and toured while pregnant. Get a grip people. If Angelina’s doctor say it’s okay to go to Iraq, if she’s pregnant, why do you have such a huge problem with it?

konnitiwa @ 02/07/2008 at 5:47 pm

Angie is amazing, isn’t she?
She visited to support the victims in earthquake-hit Afganistan and slept in a frozen tent in mountaineous village.
And she was pregnant with Shiloh at that time.
She was early third month at that time.

By the way I have a question.
Is this trip a mission for US government or UN ?

fierce @ 02/07/2008 at 4:34 pm

OK, I think you should quit your day job and take up writing fiction full time. Your stories are way too funny. I am dying here.

Some people do while others just talk. How can anyone be mad at that? God bless them…

I got a little preachy so I apologize. After reading some of these posts, you have go hmmmm…Well, I can’t wait for our baby dance after Angie confirms pregnancy…

This is a woman who obviously has great reserves of energy and stamina. She has to in order to work, take care of four young children, research and undertake U.N. missions. Many women like to sleep a lot during their first trimester and easily tire. Angelina just seems rejuvenated. No wonder Brad has his hands full trying to get her to slow down and just sit for a bit.

She’s breaking all the typical expectations and restrictions of “you shouldn’t do this” and “you can’t do that”. Clearly this is threatening to some who don’t like to see a woman unlimited by the self imposed restrictions. Maybe it makes them feel lazy or lesser beings.

I can freely admit that I don’t have her energy or fearlessness. But I rejoice in her spirit and accomplishments. She’s fierce!

What a great experience for Angie, the troops, and the Iraqis. I’m so glad she does the things she does.
We have a friend currently in the green zone it would be cool if he saw her, which if he did I’m sure we will be hearing about it,lol.
I love the pic of her with the kevlar on, shows what she is really all about and the lengths she is willing to go to in order to bring help and attention to those who need it. :-)

juju, thank you.

#38 lovely P.T. you are absolutely correct .

Good for Brad for being the kind of Dad that allows his lady to pursue her passion and good works. They compliment each other so well. I hope that they will have another child when they are ready and if you look at how much they love each other. They are ready. There lives are now just what they wanted and the great thing is that have each other to share it with. What could be better?

# 92 guli @ 02/07/2008 at 5:45 pm aeon–which century are these trolls are from??? ROTFLMAO
I guess going to Mexico and showing your goods just to get attention is the more honorable/charitable/caring/giving thing to do  Okey dokey trolls

Hey Ms. Guli. You are having a good time aren’t you? I know I am. I see you at JJB too lurking and commenting, having fun.

Boy, I think their brains have been saturated with the tabloids caca and they are no longer able to think for themselves. Why else would they come up with the lamest and stupidiest comments about a pregnant woman. I mean come on, we are living in the 21st century.

98 Ugh

You are angry because yesterday you said she was not going to Texas with Brad.Today we all know she is going.Brad is not going to leave his family behind.Deal with it.

groundcontrol @ 02/07/2008 at 6:07 pm

She’s just terrific. I am in awe.

I don’t think anyone could be so uninformed that they think she could endanger the baby (if she’s pregnant) just by traveling. That’s sort of naive to think.

But please don’t think for one second that she is safe in Iraq. No one is safe in Iraq, not even in the Green Zone. All the protection in the world can’t prevent a suicide bomber from slipping through or a mortar attack. Workers who have been trusted for ages can all of a sudden reveal themselves to be terrorists. I’m not criticizing her for taking this risk because I think she is very brave and dedicated. Maybe I would have made the same decision to go but maybe not. That’s a very personal decision.

I wonder if that eavesdropping photographer in NOLA who thought he heard Burma actually heard Baghdad. He mentioned she was waiting for State Dept. clearance and I wondered why she would have needed that for Burma - I don’t think she would have. Of course, she needed clearance for a visit to Iraq especially since she went on a US escorted visit. So it seems this trip was being planned since before late December. If she is pregnant then the plans may have begun before she knew she was pregnant. If you’ll remember, her last Iraq in 2007 visit was six months in the planning.

It just makes me smile to read about her work. I hope she keeps inspiring others to live outside themselves.

Hi senior. Thank you for the shout out.

Hi guli, and PT. Glad you ladies have arrived. It has been lively today. My gawd didn’t Angie go to Pakistain when she was pregnant with Brad after there had been an earthquake? Lawdy, lawdy, lawdy the trolls are losing their heads as I type. Too many good things happening. Why doesn’t she lie on the beach instead of traveling to Iraq? Gawd such archaic thinking. Angie is intelligent. She will not take unnecessary risks for herself or her family. Those that are born and running around or still developing, if that is the case. Oh lawdy. Oh lawdy. Peace

Angelina is one hell of a classy lady and such a good person. She doesn’t have to do things like this but she does and it’s not for the media and to make herself look good, but because she cares. Bravo to Ang! I admire you more and more each day.

Megan, your Mama did that( BJs) so AJ doesn’t have to, vut she said to tell your Mom thanks and to rinse her mouth out well.

I nominate Megan be the first line to take a bullet for the team. Worthless being that she is, she is only waisting space. We need the room for real human beings.
