ITA. I drink mainly tap water. It has fluoride and is tested regularly in my county. The plastic bottle industry is in a PR nightmare. It is interesting these celebs that jump on the endorsement bandwagon for these products without thinking of the environmental consequences.

No doubt it’s going to come to a head eventually. Northern Cal has all the necessary California natural resources to survive independently, plus we’re “prettier”…we have the giant redwoods…Southern Cal has desert, more desert, Mohave (LOL), less urban trees, are possibly on the path of killer bees from So America (temperature not warm enough in No CA for them), HW, the Beckhams, Britney Spears, JA and the Arquettes…we have Lucas and Robin Williams…in your words PT quality not quantity.
So Cal pays more taxes towards State coffers than No Ca overall because of its industry and larger population and at one point many years ago I believe in a dispute between southern and northern CA legislators over So Cal wanting No Cal to share their water No Cal threatened to split from So Cal…So Cal went ballistic!…totally amusing. So Cal even with their money relies on others to survive…
No offense to Alex, the real tita and any other posters from So Cal.

I’m confused here…do you really think Felinelilly is taking Cook seriously? No one that’s “mackin’ on” is taking his silliness seriously. Or at least I hope to God they’re aren’t! LOL! Lot’s of serial killers are mistaken for nice guys…

Uh, not that I’m calling you a psychotic killer, Cook. I’m just saying…we’re all just joking around. I thought everyone understood that but apparently some people really think Cook is trying to pick us up. NEVER has he asked any of us for our e-mail, phone number, home address, etc. It’s all a lark and nobody is setting up a meet-and- greet for women Cook has hit on online. Besides, I don’t think private parties can rent out the Super Dome.

Lylian - I would not be suprised if Matt enters into this deal. I betcha he does not know a heck of alot about this subject but anything that will give him positive points and extend his career in Hollywood..he will do. Just like Clooney.

I’m not that cynical. I think the intentions are good on the part of Clooney and Matt Damon but they have a lot to learn. It isn’t about being focussed on the one part of the charitable work but all the interconnections.

However, if the primary value of celebrity giving is the publicity, then I think image is much more important to a celebrity’s giving then say a fund like the Gates Foundation which is focussed on funding and money.

When Angelina first started, she did it in a very low key manner. She also made mistakes hiring people - like that chap in Cambodia who it seems, may have pocketed some money (probably in the form of kick backs). Now Brad and Angelina have Trevor Neilson to advice them. I think that’s the sort of person Matt and George need.

thank you so much lylian for your post…it clarified a burden I harbored…I did not so much think genocide but ethnic cleansing in the form of deliberate forceful assimilation into the majority mainstream in the attempt to immediately fracture a society, with eventual generational elimination of an undesirable by way of future interracial intent.

I embrace what has been done has been done and there is no turning back on history and “misguided” actions…Prime Minister Rudd’s apology must have been a relief for your country to get that out of the way so now the country can move on in a positive manner to the next step of improving the aborigines living conditions.
Did you know that in the US due to intermarriages 80% of American Indians are of mixed descent. They are the most exogamous group in the US today. Social scientists (Sandefur, D et al, American Indian intermarriages, Social Science Research, 15 1986 347-)have long argued that “Indian-ness” (or for our reference “aborigines-ness”) is a genetic phenomena as opposed to anthropologists viewpoint that it is a cultural tradition. As far back as the early 1800’s Thomas Jefferson espoused intermarriage would cause the American Indian to disappear. Then the argument that assimilation will cause cultures and traditions to fade away is palpable even within our own families. I’m definitely not implying or stating that is necessarily good or bad but one cannot help but be sad once the “American Indian” or aborigines defined either anthropomorphically or biologically have gone, it will be the end of a cultural phenomena identified by their respect for the environment and distinct spirituality and rituals.

Not to be mean to anyone or anything but truly, who takes what goes on between cook and any one else on this thread seriously??

On the scale of 0 - 10, with 0 being worth skipping and 10 being worth a thoughtful answer, then some posts I take at a 10, like FALP question about Australia’s apology to the Aboriginal People or the issue of bottled water and the environment. cook’s posts rate about a 2 because I enjoy watching him flirt with everyone and anyone, but run away from Paul. Most losies’ posts rate a 0 unless occassionally, one catches your eye and you can laugh at them, in which case, they rate a 1.

Just a heads up that A River Runs Through it starring Brad Pitt is on TCM. Love this film .. It’s very simiar to Legends of the Fall.

Lulu - UP knew what RC looked like when they hired him. They knew he was growing his hair out and a beard for Nottingham…and they knew that Russell Scott had asked him to lose weight for that movie. They were so desperate to keep SOP on their schedule for next year that they just didn’t give a shite what he looked like. If this was an overweight actress? She’d wouldn’t work in HW again until she was wafter thin and everyone was calling her anorexic.

So very true. They wanted a “big” name to replace Brad and they went after RC after floating JohnnyD’s name as bait but JD did not bite. SOP is one of their tentpole films and they didn’t care what the screenplay was like good bad or terrible, the word was to just get it done, and that’s exactly what they are doing. I doubt that Universal is happy that Brad surfaced in Tree of Life as they wanted to “teach” an actor a lesson as to the power of a studio but Brad is a true blue survivor of the system for years.

So Sad but so true-No actress lookin like RC can get a job, just ask KristieA, and that is a dam* shame.
